THANK YOU FOR A GREAT EXPERIENCE

Doing great things
Great tasting menu for the 30 somethings with a restaurant budget. Older more sophisticated palates may find that the seasoning overpowers the food. Allergy alert: the kitchen brought out 2 dishes that ignored the customer’s stated food allergy. Wedding mix sound track.
There aren’t robust enough words to describe the gem that is Coarse NYC. From the champagne greeting, the lighting, and thought provoking phrases embedded into the decor to the eclectic music infused atmosphere, every detail is designed to wow the senses. If you go, you must have the wine pairing with the fixed menu. The choice of flavor profiles make each wine a flawless companion to its paired course. The chef's execution is simply exquisite, each course providing a nuanced balance of visual beauty and taste that leave me longing for my next visit. I've eaten in some of the finest restaurants all over the world. Coarse NYC is in my top five. You won't regret spending an evening with Vincent and his team.
I am a single person who eats out almost every night. i have been to coarse a few times because i have followed Chef Vincent from his precious upper west restaurant, vai. my dinner tonight was outstanding from my complimentary glass of prosecco to the outstanding dessert. Everything in between was delicious. the food courses and the wine pairing were amazing. the service and special shout-out to kevin and camilla. Just a magical repast and wonderful ambience
One of a kind
Four diners entered for the first time with high standards and low expectations, having not experienced Chef Chirico's work before. Four diners left Coarse beyond satisfied. The experience impressed, educated and entertained. We chose the $125 menu - a chef's selection with wine pairing. Each dish (there were either 7 or 8) was unique, delicious, with great presentation - think iron chef caliber. Wine pairings were exceptional. Chefs enjoyed interaction. Will definitely be back.
Planning my next visit already ....
we were sat 30 min late. Waiters dropped our food on the table with no explanation of what the food was.
It was my birthday. I loved the food and the place. Its very noisy though. Everything was perfect besides the 1 hour wait (with reservation) and the fact that they forgot our dessert. When we asked for it,
the waiter said: the kitchen is closed but I was able to do something.
As if it was our fault they forgot. When it came it was a cream with some crumbled thing over it. In comparison to the amazing food and wine, dessert was a bit disappointing. But overall a very nice experience.
Absolutely amazing cuisine start to finish! Tasting menu was simply perfect.
Each course was a surprise and delicious. Truly special. Chef Vince makes everyone feel that they are at his home. The fish courses were superb. Light and original. Dessert was perfect: feathery and joyful. We had a wonderful time! Thank you.
I went with my friend for a post-Valentine's Day dinner. We went at 6:30. The place was crowded even then. When we entered, we were offered "a drink". She clarified that it mean wine and it was included. She suggested Proseco. I said fine. So she brought me Proseco and Rose' for my friend. The Rose' was a surprise but it was fine.
The place was very loud with music playing the entire time. It turned out not to be a place for quiet conversation at all.
We ordered the large tasting menu for the occassion. My friend doesn't eat shell fish. We told them but the first dish was crab salad anyway. I ate both our portions and they didn't bring her a replacement. When there was scallop course they did bring a replacement.
The next dishes were all fine but not spectacular. The best were the Hamachi sashimi and Filet Mignon. The grilled Tuna was a disappointment since I'd read rave reviews of it. The best course turned out to be dessert.
Overall, this was a disappointment and, given the price, a major shortcoming on value. The food wasn't bad, but at this price it should have been spectacular and it wasn't.
Fantastic guided meal. Wait staff was excellent.
My friend brought me here last summer and my husband and I keep coming back for special occasions like to celebrate birthdays or show off when friends come in from out of town. The idea of inviting people to a tasting menu with a wine paring that is affordable is brilliant. The food, service and wine pairings are exceptional and abundant! The food is delicious and having been before, we look forward to having the same course again and if a dish has been swapped out,any new addition changes are a welcome addition. We like this place so much we have setup a quarterly dinner with friends!
Decided to go to Coarse for Valentines. Coarse, and its owner/chef Vince, did not disappoint. The food, the wine and the service was on point. This is a hidden gem in the west village. The food is innovative in its preparation, and it tastes so damn good. Try the yellow fin tuna finished with the brown butter. Coarse has always delivered. Can’t wait to go back.
Best restaurant in nyc
They got it right
In terms of food quality and price one of the best restaurants in NYC. The portions are relatively small but I rather prefer outstanding quality over quantity. Also, the wine is included in the menu which gives you are nice overall experience.
Always a great time when dining at Coarse. The food is amazing, very tasty and healthy. Love how my guests and I can enjoy our conversations knowing everything else (food and beverage) is well taken care of. Highly recommend!
Always a great time and experience
A must visit
Food was amazing with perfect wine pairing
Brought a group of friends who were visiting from out of town, and as always, the food, wine, and service were stellar. This West Village gem is a perfect restaurant experience.
The food and service were outstanding, we also loved the decor.
All dishes were amazingly prepared and beautifully presented. The wines were also good.
However the loud music (great playlist but the volume was too loud) makes people talk louder and by the end of the evening you just want to finish your dinner and leave.
I absolutely love this place! Have been many times now and try to go as often as I can. I’m really bummed because it seems as if people don’t understand the greatness and value of a this truly fantastic restaurant. The place itself is a little funky sort of bushwick hipster vibe. The food is so outstanding it really is unbelievable. There are only two options on the menu, a shorter tasting course and a longer one. I have done both and both are phenomenal. The wine pairing is sublime. I never choose wine pairings at a restaurant bc I am admittedly a wine snob so I was super skeptical of this. But they so caringly choose each pairing it kind of mind blowing. The food is so obviously lovingly prepared and chosen. Starting from a yellowtail crudo with the freshest fish and wonderful flavors to the burrata ravioli I just can’t say enough of how good everything is. And very uniquely flavored and prepared. Please please eat here. New York needs this place to not only survive but thrive. It’s small and at first look expensive but so so worth every penny!!
Best restaurant in the city! Been here many times and it never disappoints. The food is amazing with heavy pour wine pairings. Good portions for a tasting menu, creative dishes, and overall an incredible dining experience.
Amazing as always
Met chef Vincent for a long time. Amazing taste as well as pallets for wine. Much appreciated the food
Unique fun place
Food was exceptional. Will definitely be back!
Amazing! Excellent food and pairings.
Still dreaming about this meal almost two weeks later - the experience was that phenomenal. Have eaten at my fair share of NYC restaurants and this is firmly in the top tier at any price. The chef and his team took excellent care of us on Christmas eve which we deeply appreciated. We chose the larger food/wine pairing with truffle addition, absolutely turned out to be the right choice. Big fan of the spontaneous dining style, your trust will be rewarded by leaving it to the experts. Each course was creative and delicious. Had not eaten some of the food combinations before but they were great, interesting (in a good way) wine pairings as well. Space is spartan, gallery-inspired and I got a kick out of the New York Said (Amon Focus) prints on the wall. Planning a return even though it's beyond our usual geography.
