Everything is good! Chief will come and meet you in person. You can see they treat food seriously. Everything is very fresh and well matched. Except our waitress is a bit less professional given this the restaurant level. Will come back again.
Unkompliziert, sehr lecker, kein Brot, schlechte Lüftung, offene Weine na ja
Great time as usual
Thanks to this team
It was absolutely amazing everyone loved it
We had an Amazing lunch. The food and service was EXCEPTIONAL!!!
My favorite restaurant in NYC
This is hands down one of my favorite restaurants. I’ve brought family and close friends here. The chef is extremely accommodating whether it be vegans, children, dietary restrictions. Thank you for helping us create incredible memories!
It was an overall bad experience starting from the misleading OpenTable listed characteristics of the restaurant all the way to the dinning experience itself. We chose this option to have a casual nice dining, when OpenTable listed the restaurant as $$ ‘$30 and under’ type of restaurant, when in fact not even the added wine pairing was in this price range, the cheapest option was a tasting menu for $67 which is definitely not on the ‘$$’ side - this should be fixed on the app, luckily for us we were open and decided to stay and give it a try in hopes that it will be an unexpected amazing dinning experience (spoiler alert, it wasn’t). Moving on to the restaurant itself... I’ve been to tasting menu restaurants before, and while I understand that the idea of letting the chef send your way the food that he/she pleases, they should give you at least an idea of what the dishes will include, there is no information whatsoever on what you’re gonna get at all; starting by the fact that there is no printed menu for the day (the only printed sheet on the table lists the prices of the tasting menu options, without even giving details of what each implies), but even the staff was unwilling to tell you what you were going to get, not even the number of courses! The only reason why we got an idea was because while at the restaurant we found online (from comments) a list of main ingredients that we couple find per course (hamachi, asparagus, almonds, as so on)-mystery is good in this type of experiences but they cannot go to the extreme to not letting you know ANYTHING. Moreover, unfortunately the food wasn’t even that good, there was nothing outstanding nor that delicious to try to remember. In addition, the time taken between courses was just too long, we ended up being served 5 courses over two hours. Finally, the music was so loud that at times it was hard to listen to the person sitting next to me. Only thing I can save was that other than the music the ambience was cool.
Soo amazing, and a great value for what you get! We lived this experience
My second visit since April 2019, and the food is still amazing, the ambiance and mood of the place is very personal and inviting. I really appreciate the head chef's presence both in the space and interacting with the guests, it adds to the experience of Coarse NYC for sure. The servers and chefs are also very professional and knowledgeable. I would easily recommend Coarse NYC to anyone seeking a different restaurant experience and tasting menu. I will be back!
We had the $99 tasting menu that included wine. Every course was delicious. Highly recommend!
+ Cool Spot, great food and incredible value for money
- long wait, very loud
This is an unreal, must go dining experience. I don’t know how this place hasn’t blown up yet but go before it’s impossible to get a reservation. Definitely one of my top 5 dining experiences in my life - the food was simple and flavorful and I want to eat it over and over again. And even though the wine pairing is included in the fixed cost, they DO NOT SKIMP and will refill your glass multiple times over. The staff went above and beyond and we kind and relatable. Will be back again even though I hate repeating!
Came here to celebrate my friend’s birthday and had an amazing time! We were blown away by the food and the service- the concept is really cool- the chefs basically surprise you with a series of different dishes and serve you themselves. My favorite were the tuna and the ravioli. We chose the wine pairing and highly recommend. Will definitely come back!
Thank you Kevin and team
The food is amazing. The wine pairing is excellent. Can’t fault anything.
One of my new favorite restaurants! Really enjoyed the meal + service was impeccable! Will definitely return!
Lovely experience overall. We will be back!
The food was good, but even for a price-fixed menu in the west village, was a total rip off in terms of food to cost. So loud we were all hoarse afterwards. Wine wasn’t good. Overall would never go back or suggest to anyone— there’s a reason they have plenty of space on weekend nights. Bad experience, 1/10.
We went to Coarse for a birthday celebration and chose the Spontaneous Tasting menu with wine pairing. There were many open tables, but the server still was not able to coordinate the wine well with the food. Once he served the wine long after the course had arrived, another time he would have missed it altogether and I had to ask him whether there was a pairing with the course. The wines themselves were fine but uninspired, not a single one stood out as an excellent wine. As for the food, we found the quality quite uneven. Some courses were exceptional, such as the crudo and the (single) ravioli, others were less exciting. I particularly found that the hot butter poured over the raw tuna ruined the otherwise very good dish. I rounded up to 4 stars for food but would have given 3.5. Overall it felt like a place that wanted to be more but needed work on food and wines and could not quite get the service right.
We were 5 and ordered the expansive menu with wine pairing. Not a bad dish was served and Kevin made it fun with hi is descriptions of the dish and the wine pairing.
Repeat outstanding. I think this is one of the best restaurants in NYC. The whole family loved it. For me, the standout was tuna with a butter glace sear. My wife and son lived white asparagus with cream, cheese, and celery micro greens, and my youngest the duck. But everything was AMAZING. And then there was dessert...
Best fixed menu in NYC. Delicious food, amazing wine. At the top of my list
Loved it! Chef amazing. Staff amazing. Best meal I’ve had in a long long time.
Creative, and well executed dishes served by a really knowledgable and attentive staff. Wine pairings were spot on. We came away very happy about the experience, and will come back again.
Can’t recommend highly enough. Such a great experience - from the food, wine pairing, atmosphere, it’s fantastic
Wonderful food and service. It’s been a couple of years since our last time. It won’t be as long until the next time. Simply fantastic.
eatg on a Sunday eve provided quiet with plenty of space between us and 2 or 3 other sets patrons --- one foursome of whom were quite audible. So eatg when full house wd not be conducive to talk. Food was rich and all told, with 2 sweet ending courses, a total of 7. We were not hungry when we left. It did span 1.5 hrs as proprietor predicts. Wine pairing good... with a few ounces per course (except dessert) bringing wine qty. a little disproportionate to food qty. We would go back periodically. At $99 w/wine and $70 without wine it seemed priced fine for the experience. The chef choices across many of the courses are slightly salt and slightly sweet forward --- so the overall experience was one of rich food, espec due to wine. We will be interested in trying the Vegan Lunch. Dinner was all pescatarian.
My partner and I celebrated seven years together and Course was the perfect choice. Looking forward to going back soon.
Wonderful meal! I’ve been here 6 times and it has been amazing every time!
Outstanding food & service! Vincent Chirico adds some ingenious flavors to straightforward, simple dishes that never disappointed. The laid back atmosphere made it feel we were in the kitchen with the Chef all night, yet the food was of a caliber worthy of the most formal dining experiences in the City. Vince served many of the dishes to us personally, reflecting the passionate care he and his partners have clearly taken across all aspects of the restaurant. Bravo!
Amazing, chef Vincent is one of the best in the city. Great tasting menu with superb wine pairing and an overall incredible experience with the head chef presenting each dish. Favorite restaurant in all of NYC
Had an early dinner before going to Sleep No More. We were the first guests to sit and the staff could not have been more friendly. The chef came out several times to speak with us and made sure we were out in time for the show. The food was spectacular — hard to pick a favorite, but the ravioli and brown butter yellow fin were especially memorable. Wine pairing was perfect. Loud music playing, but it worked!
This place is phenomenal. Once you come in the doorway, you are given wine! The head chef greets you at your table to ask for any food allergies. This was a lovely gesture. The wine and food were paired beautifully. I especially love the high quality of service, but the vibe of the restaurant is down to earth. Highly recommend!!
