Great experience, food was delicious! Attentive sommelier/hostess.
Run by great people
A place that really gets hospitality
So excellent. Really great, and relatively affordable, tasting menu.
Was overboekt, een 40 tal min in het gangpad gestaan
Het eten is wel echt lekker maar het is er zo luid dat je elkaar nauwelijks verstaat. Dus geen echt ontdpannende avond. 500 dollar voor 4 personen!!
The food was excellent and the wine pairing was perfect. The wait staff was very good. The owner was a little gruff in his mannerisms. When the restaurant filled up, it was a little noisy. Value of the dinner was worth it.
I would absolutely recommend the restaurant.
Did the $99 tasting menu, and it was great top to bottom—creative, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The fact that it came with a wine pairing for each course made it a great value (I swear we had $99 worth of wine alone). Service was also excellent - very friendly, attentive, and informative staff. Having a free glass of sparkling wine while you wait for your table was a great touch as well. Really great place, but very small, so book in advance.
Unbelievable experience for out of town visitors and value for the quality that can't be beat.
Unique and wonderful restaurant! Pri Fixe format with wine pairing makes for a fun and affordable experience. Love coming here, have always had a good time
This was my third time with a large group and it was amazing!!!!
The food was absolutely tremendous- would highly recommend Coarse to anyone looking for a fun get together or date over high quality food. We’ll definitely be back!
Delicious delicious courses. Attentive staff.
Exceptional food & service. We had a party of 7. We were greeted with wine. Personally greeted by the chef. We went full tasting menu with wine pairing. I lost count of the courses. Everything was delicious. We had a pescatarian & a vegetarian and both were happy with their courses as well. For $99 with 6+ courses and wine pairings, flawlessly prepared food, you couldn't find a better meal. He'll - we would have paid a lot more. Everyone was very very very happy!
bravo to the team
food and beverage / ambiance / chefs all great
Everything was perfect
overall great experience
Amazing meal, amazing overall experience. Every dish (of seven!) was fantastic, from the welcome glass of champagne to the little chocolate nut clusters they bring with the check. I won’t go over each course- the surprise is part of Coarse’s charm. Highly recommend.
Excellent overall Food very innovative!
Outstanding food & service. The chef treats each of us in a very special way, making each guest feel as welcome as if we were in our own homes. Love this place!
Amazing food and service!!
Great chef, innovative dishes & fun atmosphere. Intimate experience with frequent Checking in on how you like the food etc
Absolutely delicious! Chefs design a tasting menu with wine pairings. Can’t wait to return! It’s a good thing I don’t live in the city because I would eat here every night.
This is our second trip to Coarse and we will be back whenever we are again in the city. The food is amazing, and with it being a tasting menu sort of situation I appreciate never really knowing what we might get. It truly makes me try something new every time I am there. Wine pairings are well thought out and generous. Portion sizes are perfect - I leave feeling full but not overly so. Service is spot on!
Unbelievable! Great value. Definitely going again.
Excellent excellent inventive food. Fabulous wine pairing. Service is wonky. The room is great but very loud. I will def go back and hope the service is a little better!!
Very good! They all you what type of food you like or are allergic to, and then compile a set of 6/7 small main dishes everyone can eat. I was impressed!
AWESOME AS USUAL
MOST FUN I 'VE HAD IN A RESTAURANT IN A LONG TIME !!
Great food / ambiance
Tasting was lovely; creative and delicious. Value is great and the added wine pairing was both very good as well as very generous.
GREAT CONCEPT -
WORLD NEEDS MORE RESTAURANTS LIKE THIS -
BEYOND AMAZING! I found this restaurant by sorting on highest rating on OpenTable, looking for a special dinner for my son's 23rd birthday. He's a flavor-loving omnivore and I'm vegan...This was an amazing choice, so glad we went! It's experiential without being gimmicky at all...Your chef works directly with you to create dishes that are simply perfect. The vegan dishes he made were beyond delicious...such beautiful flavors! My son was over the moon, loving every delicious morsel. His 5 course meal included ceviche, a large scallop plate, and a lamb dish. My 3 course meal mirrored his, but with pear as ceviche (OMG, so tasty! who would have imagined!!), asparagus in there somewhere, and i forget what else...but every molecule was delectable! And the wine pairings were wonderful, introducing us to some great new-to-us selections. The entire team there, including servers, were warm, genuine, sweet, and professional. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough...go; you won't regret it!
Amazing and unique restaurant, chef Kevin rocks!!!
The whole experience was incredible. Food and service were fantastic. It was their first brunch but you couldn’t tell. Accommodated our dietary restrictions without any issues. Will definitely be back for dinner.
Spontaneous menu as Kong as you let the chef know your dietary restrictions. It was fun and great food presented beautifully and the tasting menu comes with a wine paring for $99. Pretty reasonable!
One of the best tasting menus in NYC and definitely best value for money
Great night, great staff and absolutely awesome food
Amazing! I’ve been to some of the best restaurants in the city and this is up there with all of them. Great ambiance and music, and the full tasting menu was incredible, not a single dish we didn’t love. The scallops and the veal dishes were a favorite and the wine pairings were perfect.
Chef Vincent is hands on and a great host coming to the table to explain the dishes.
Really enjoyed the food here - we had the 3-course (no wine) chef's choice tasting menu. They gave us free champagne when we arrived and waited for our table, which was great. Music was good, overall the experience was good. Few things made it just slightly less than exceptional for us:
1. Confusion between the wait staff and the kitchen. We asked if one of us could get the 3 course and the other could get the 5 (the two have different timelines). Wait staff said yes, but the chef later said that wasn't possible when he stopped by our table. At another time, we told the waitress my husband can't eat most fruit, including avocado, and verbally she said there wasn't any avocado on the menu. But the first dish that came out had avocado (although the kitchen made him a different first course, without fruit).
2. I felt like we were being rushed out the door at the end, we barely had time to finish the palate cleanser before they brought dessert.
3. By the time it was starting to get crowded, they barely bothered to explain what was on the plates they brought out. Not a huge deal, because it was all tasty - but a little more detail would have made a difference.
I've been through a good amount of restaurants, various michelin stars etc and this is by far my favorite. Fresh food, incredible flavors, and spontaneous. Had a wonderful time. New favorite spot. Highest honors to the chef (who actually greets you and is quite funny).
I actually at here a few weeks ago, but whatever.
We were about 15 minutes early for our reservation, and the host had a bottle of decent bubbly opened and ready to pour for us while we waited. The menu is very much an "omakase" style, and I think that was part of the draw to the place. I wouldn't take my friends with allergies, but they seemed to be able to handle any restrictions if you have them.
Highlights include the hamachi crudo, some really nicely blanched white asparagus, and the veal. Spring for the wine pairings if you can. I work in wine myself and I was really pleased with their selections, pairings, and the price points.
Service was very friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. One of the chef's came out and even chatted with us and a few other tables.
Honestly, the only flaw in the service was the music and (maybe) the lighting. It felt a little too loud for a date, and it was a little too dark to see how nicely plated some of the dishes were, but that's my only gripe.
All things considered, this is a fantastic dinner for the price. Even if you only went for 3 courses I'm sure you'd enjoy yourself.
Coarse is amazing and wonderful. Intimate space. Food is a multi course offering paired w wine. Amazing flavors. Menu shifts but chef is able to accommodate allergies. Wine pairing was also fantastic. All for very reasonable prices.
