Highly recommended. Had the meatloaf and fish & chips, comfort food and prepared perfectly. Great cocktails too
I took my wife here for her birthday. Had been by Coalition many times before, but this was our first time eating there. First of all, the place is beautiful and we loved the decor. Staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. I had a Bloody Mary to drink and my wife the Other Canton Street Cooler. Both were very good. As an appetizer, we ordered the Pretzel Tray - very good and the pretzel is essentially a loaf of pretzel bread with a huge serving of beer cheese and side of mustard. For dinner, my wife had the filet and it was excellent! I had the Salmon, which was good but slightly overcooked. We’ll definitely return and try the sandwiches and other options, as we really enjoyed our meal and time at Coalition.
We loved the atmosphere, food & server! The music was more heavy metal and not lunchtime conducive to conversation.
The fish & chips are GREAT! Would like to see the fried chicken sandwich come back on menu.
The food was delicious. My family enjoyed it. We will go back.
Family brunch. Warm greeting at the door, friendly service. The food was delicious, sour cream pancakes with fresh blueberries and sour whipped cream, and maple syrup, hanger steak with chimichurri sauce, tender and beautifully seasoned, side of roasted potatoes, BLT, crispy bacon, chicken salad sandwich, also delicious.
All in all, we had a wonderful meal and hope to be back soon!
We had a Friendly, attentive server. The ambiance was nice. Between the 3 of us, we had the salmon, the hanger steak and the wings...all were awesome and we will definitely be back.
We enjoyed the food and our server Cole was very friendly and had such a pleasant disposition!
Had brunch for four people. Pleasant atmosphere. The portions are small which is what I prefer but others may feel otherwise. The pancakes were very good. The eggs benedict was initially served cold but upon request a new hot version was served with apologies. The avocado toast was skimpy--only one slice of toast per order. The arugula on top of the toast was too oily and the 4 pieces of strawberries were just a garnish. The manager brought another serving stating he noticed the portion was small without any complaints from us which was very nice. The pricing is appropriate for the small portions.
The staff was very friendly and accommodating so we would go back and try some of the other dishes.
Birthday dinner for my husbands 50th with the family. Had a wonderful dinner. Our server was awesome and very attentive. Banana splits were to die for. 😊🎂
Great service and food!
The tuna burger was amazing!
Loved the vibe and the service. The menu was casual with enough diversity. Shrimp and grits were delicious too. Had a wonderful night out.
Outstanding food, service and setup. It is always a home run! I highly recommend them.
Great dinner with cool decor inside. Started with chicken wings as an app - interesting and tasty twist on traditional wings. I enjoyed the hanger steak with roasted red potatoes - yummy and hubs had the club with side wedge salad - both of which was very good and tasty. Service was good and food came out hot.
Great place to meet friends. Great food, Great service. Easy place to be. Plenty of free parking in deck close by.
2 Salads... dressing was inedible in both.
Steak ordered medium - it was rare. They took it back and brought it back med rare
Pretzel appetizer was good but you do not get $ worth
Unfortunately I will not return.
This is a smartly designed restaurant with friendly service and good food. I had the Meatloaf and it was off the charts good. The decor of the restaurant allows for very cosy booths while the patio is wonderful or dining also.
I appreciated that Jennifer reached out in response to the message I sent to the restaurant about our first experience. While these were service issues that any restaurant could experienced she was very gracious inviting us back. We returned and had a much better experience. I would definitely return. Thank you.
We have been wanting to try Coalition for a long time. I'm so glad we did! The food was delicious. I had a caesar salad and my husband had a tuna burger. My husband is still talking about the delicious tuna burger. Our service was wonderful (wish I could remember our sweet server's name). The casual environment was perfect for a Saturday night date! We will be going back - soon.
A cozy yet fun atmosphere, good for kids or a date night. The food was excellent, we had brunch and I noticed an item being served for a party and inquired about the side. It was supposed to be only for their party, however they made an extra side for our table as well. Excellent service - great food
Go for sure you wont be disappointed
The special dish, shrimp gumbo, was very well spiced and the shimp were nice, but it was served luke-warm, with undercooked rice (hard kernels) and with no bread or crackers. It took the server 10 minutes to bring a plate of dry toast instead. The burger was small for its price. About 1/4 of fries were bottom of pot overcooked
I ordered a wedge salad and egg roll soup. The soup had one piece of meat in it, and the salad had a minimal amount of toppings and dressing. I paid $13 for very inferior food. Staff was very nice and attentive but food game needs to be stepped up if this restaurant is to be a contender. Several in my party had this same complaint.
Still my favorite place!
Meagan was an excellent server as was the always great host. I forget his name but he has the great hair. They both bent over backwards to make it a great experience for all and especially our little bride to be!!
Food was just ok for the price. My meal was small and I was hungry later. Just ok.
Great choices of wine!
Our waiter, Cory did an excellent job of describing the menu choices for us and taking care of all our dining needs.
We always enjoy Coalition!
Always a treat to eat here where service and food are consistently tops!
Great service and nice portions of tasty food.
My third visit...and I find the menu and food to be good...not great. Easy atmosphere, can bring kids. It's VERY loud. Our server was fantastic and he had a good handle on the menu and the drinks (especially the local beer!)
Great food and service and a beautiful night to sit outside
little disappointed in half-half. Reuben corn beef was not thinly sliced. Hard to eat. Not nearly as good as previous times I have ordered.
Food and waiter were very good, great outdoor seating!
UPDATE 9/26/19-Manager reached out to apologize and offered us a free entree at sister restaurant, Table & Main. Food there was delicious, but more importantly service was courteous and attentive. The owner came out to greet us with a complimentary dish and to our surprise, comped all of our food! Thank you to the owner and management team for making things right! Original review below...
9/17/19-I’ll start with the GOOD: food was tasty with the exception of the Reuben, which had rubbery/chewy meat. The ambiance is good and it is a good location. Now, the BAD: our waitress was awful. Started off fine, but after my friend informed her that the Reuben meat was rubbery, our waitress looked at my friend, her plate, and said “That’s interesting.” And walked away! We were shocked that she didn’t say I’m sorry, or let me talk to my manager or the chef. After that, we didn’t see her a lot but when we did, she became rude, inattentive and unapologetic. Example 1: she came back to see if we needed anything else, we said “no, just the check” and she brought us one bill which was fine. She came back for it and saw our 4 credit cards laying on top of the bill and said “Well I could’ve brought 4 separate checks” and then snatched it up and walked away. If you can imagine an entitled, sassy teenage daughter talking back to you.....that was her tone and attitude. Example 2: after my friend spoke to a manager about our experience, the manager came by and apologized and said she would take the sandwich off of the bill. The waitress came by with the 4 checks to be signed as the manager was saying this and the waitress said, “but i just ran these 4 bills!” The manager replied, “Well, we can just re-run this one and deduct the amount from it.” Simple, right? Well the waitress rolled her eyes, turned on her heels and followed the manager to the back - again no apologies, no smiles, no thanks for coming in, hope to see you back. She single-handedly lost our business.
Great service, food and drinks. I have gluten allergy and they were very accommodating. I was provided with a menu showing GF items or those that could be modified to be gluten free. From appetizers through dessert, we had outstanding food and an attentive waitress taking care of us throughout. Highly recommended!
Service was meh... felt rushed. Like they were eager to turn the table. We don’t linger so I think they were a bit over encouraging to wrap up our check.
“French” omelet was chewy and excessively salty (and I LOVE a lot of salt).
Service was friendly, but complacent and in professional.
Not worth the trip, or the money.
This was our first trip to Coalition. We really enjoyed our evening and will definitely be back soon.
Just perfect neighborhood gem!
