CO - Raleigh
Fri, Sat 11:00 am–11:00 pm
The waiters blamed lack of service on 2 large parties (one was about 6 people, the other was 8 or so). The restaurant wasn't even full and we had booked a reservation for 2 in advance, so I didn't think that was a good excuse. It took 15 min for anyone to come to our table (only because I informed the hostess) and we sat around for about 30 min before anyone came by to take a food order. We had gotten drinks when someone came the first time, but I think the waiters were un disagreement over who would take care of our table so no one came back for awhile. We decided to finish drinks and eat elsewhere.
This place is so good! Saw it had great reviews on Yelp! and decided to go for a date night. Was hard to pick from a menu of endless delicious options. The infused sake, sushi, and tempura banana were all amazing. We will definitely be back!
7pm Wednesday reservation. 4 top. Arrived early and were accommodated. Apps were great. Crab rangoon, pork buns, both steamed and fried, pretty good. Katsu chicken bowl had too much rice. Spicy Udon was a little sweet but better with soy sauce. Spicy Salmon Crunch poke bowl. Guest had nothing to compare to but was extremely satisfied and finished all of it. Curry Laksa was well done. I would have preferred an ounce more of noodles and more heat however they provided ample amounts on the side so I could add as necessary. Overall, great experience. Recommended.
Great food but a little dark
Nice atmosphere, beautifup place! A little noisy as night when on, but it is a happening place! Great food. Service: we were checked on excessively, too many times, so we felt a bit rushed and bothered. Loved the Happy Hour options. It's great CO offers that on Friday evenings!
Tasty food and excellent service. Second time here and have to comment that the table setup, both high top and regular tables is odd. Seats that are uneven across regular tables and bolted high tops makes things less comfortable than things could be. Overall a great experience. Kudos to a Fantastic wait staff and a great kitchen!
Each time I've visited CO-Raleigh I've had an amazing experience. The food is exceptional. I've never been disappointed. On this recent visit I ordered a dish that I wasn't satisfied with. Without hesitation our server stepped in to find a dish that worked for me! The manger followed up with an apology and ensured I was satisfied with my new selection.
Let me say there was nothing wrong with the first dish in preparation, I just did not like the taste. They were gracious enough to accommodate me!
The service is amazing from the welcome greeting to the departing salutations.
Everything was great although the seats on the walls are too high and uncomfortable
Decent, but nothing special. There are similar restaurants in Raleigh that are better, both in terms of taste and price. We may visit again, but the service was lacking and we aren’t in a rush to try again.
Food average. Cocktails very underwhelming (and weak and small) despite being $12+. Food average. Service very poor - slow, inattentive.
Energetic and loud, CO bustles with a big-city ambiance making one almost forget one is in Raleigh. The space is hip and decor is great. Service was not super special with the server having to be asked for water twice. Two of the three dishes were great. The two noodle bowls were both flavorful and just what was expected from the menu. Far from perfect (see Bida Manda for that), but tasty and a great value. The firecracker roll however, left much to be desired and not at all edible. The person who ordered found it to be gummy, lacking any real depth of flavor and just a total turn-off. A second taster agreed that it was pretty awful. The positive from the negative is that management understood; accepted the criticism; offered to replace; and ultimately took it off the bill. The proper way management handled things is why we will return so our sushi eater can try the wonderful pho.
We'd heard a lot of good things about CO's Charleston location and was excited for them to come to Raleigh. However, both the food and atmosphere lacked character-it felt very corporate, although there are only a handful of locations for this restaurant. There are many other restaurants that, at a similar price level, offer a more captivating experience. We'd go back there under some circumstances, such as with another couple who hadn't tried it yet, or favored it for their own reasons; but if it was just my wife and I, we would go to any of a number of other places that offered a more captivating experience. The service was very good; and nothing else was BAD, it was just...meh. Especially given that we made the trek from Southern Wake County, all the way to North Hills.
The Drunked Noodles was way to salty to be eaten. The Thai green curry was salty and way too hot, even by Asian standards. We have enjoyed the Co in Charlotte a number of times and had high hopes for this one restaurant. They didn’t live up to expectations for this birthday celebration. I suggest the chef and manager both taste the product before serving to customers.
Outdtanding! Hubby and I shared 4 small plates. All excellent! Couldn't resist the cheesecake filled fried wontons for dessert. I'll be dreaming about them tonight.
Amazing food! Perfect blend of flavors was a party in my mouth. We’ll be back often!
Our first (and last) time there. Long wait for cold food. They said they were short staffed, but the place was already pretty empty anyways, which is not good for a Saturday night and signaled to us that our experience was the norm (and that the word was out). Nice decor otherwise. Definitely a shame.
We waited 1.5 hrs for our food and the service was horrible. The table of 9 people who ordered 15 mins after us were finished with their meals before we had even received ours. There was no crowd on a Saturday night. Food was just OK
Great food....loved the ramen. And our service was shift and accommodating!
Anniversary dinner. Waiter was alittle distracted but overall great experience
There was 10 women who needed a nice night out for dinner. We all work for a large company in north hills areas. Everyone loved the food and we all had a great time.
Do not waste your time or money. Food is awful. Just awful. Service is friendly and attentive but delivery of both drinks and food super slow.
Service was great. Our waitress couldn’t be nicer or more helpful. We got there in time for happy hour and took advantage of the prices to split several small plates—pork and crab spring roll, mango summer roll, tuna taco, and firecracker roll. All were yummy but esp liked the tuna taco. We also had the pork and ginger gyoza and tempura bananas for dessert—all on the regular dinner menu. Food was very good. Drinks were excellent. It’s a great place to go to sample different Asian food and, if you can make it for happy hour and take advantage of drink specials during the week, it can be a great deal!
I wasnt impressed by our food selections. Generally the flavors were bland. Edamame gyoza was good. I probably wont return.
Really enjoy dining at Co-Raleigh. Love the atmosphere and food options. My friend is vegan and was able to find a decent selection to chose from.
Came here for the Pad Thai, was not the biggest fan - the sauce was different and had a unique flavor, not like a Pad Thai flavor. The cocktails were good, definietly a good spot to grab a drink.
If I came back, I’d probably get something else, definitely not the Pad Thai.
The place was quite empty, although we chose to go early, around 5:30 and the place opens at 5:00.
Food was excellent taste and portion wise
Service was friendly and attentive, we definitely will be back.
Our table had a pleasant enough experience dining at CO. The food and drinks were excellent; they have a large menu with lots of variety to choose from. However, the service was extremely slow despite the restaurant only being half full.
Always love the food here! Server was great but every time we go the food takes forever to come out.
The food just wasn't that good. The tuna was fishy, my Pho tasted like beef broth with noodles and beef in it. Someone at the table had Pad Thai and they said it was good. This tasted like chain food.
Menu was diverse. Food quality was solid. Service was a bit slow but not horrible. Lovely atmosphere. Overall we enjoyed our experience.
We went for dinner and it took 2 hours to get one appetizer and 2 pho bowls. My husband had to ask the bus boy for another drink because our server was no where to be found. I don’t know how long the restaurant has been open for so maybe it’s growing pains or an off night. It does have a good vibe to it, but that doesn’t override service and time waiting for food.
We went during happy hour and there were very good deals! This experience was much better than my last experience and I highly recommend it.
We were excited about going to CO after reading the N&O food editor's comments but were sadly disappointed. The food was no different than any other Asian restaurant. Nothing special. If I had not check our bill, they tired to over charge us for our wine. The excuse for the over charge was they had not changed it yet in their system. This speaks to poor management. The parking is terrible - you have to use North Hills neighborhood parking decks or street parking.
With other better restaurants in the area and in Raleigh, we will NOT go back.
First time and I will be returning for sure. Food was great!!
A friend and I went for restaurant week- I’ll spare all the details but let’s just say this was the worst service I’ve ever received at a restaurant, hands down. They were completely unprepared for restaurant week and the dining room wasn’t even close to full, so there shouldn’t have been an issue. The waitress came back to the table at 40 min increments, they totally skipped a course, never took our drink orders... it was so atrocious that the Manager had to come out and handle it all. What a mess. After all that, the food was mediocre at best. Absolutely nothing above average. Would not recommend to anyone. Go across to Cowfish, you’ll be so much happier than at CO.
Great value menu for North Hills Restaurant Week. Variety of Asian cuisine from sushi rolls, dumplings, hibachi, and curry laksa. Excellent, friendly service. A tad dark meant hard to read menus printed on brown paper. Only drawback is parking. Valet cost $10 (across street Capital Grille offers complimentary valet).
Excellent amazing food. I’ll definitely be back to sample more
Excellent service, really good food. A good atmosphere with a very good drink selection. Our server was friendly and the manager stopped by to check on us. This is a fairly new restaurant and we would recommend it. We will certainly be back.
Always great food and the drinks are wonderful. They are stingy on the amount of meat they put in the rice bowls considering the cost, however, everything is delicious.
We took a coworker to CO for her birthday for lunch, it was my 1st time trying this place. The experience was very average. The place is very nice, modern looking with chic decor like you would expect in this neighborhood. The service was fine, friendly and quick, but the food was only average. I had the Korean steak/rice bowl and the steak was not very tender. The rice was a little sticky. The accompanying vegetables were fine, just the dish overall was not anything special that stood out in presentation, texture or taste. The dish wasn't terrible by any means, just kind of meh. For the premium price you pay at a place like this, I wanted the food to be better. So if you want a chic Asian bistro dining experience with impressive surroundings and lovely people give it a try. If you want some great, fresh Chinese food for about half the price you pay at CO, drive 5 minutes up to Peking Garden at Colony Shopping center. Like I said, CO wasn't 'bad'. I would give it another try sometime but will not hurry back like a place I would that knocked my socks off.
