The salmon salad had an uncanny amount of bones
Was busy Friday night and service a bit slow. Charged a beer I didn’t have, but corrected it. Great burger!
Daughter’s Birthday. Service and food were outstanding.
Wonderful service, food and loved the restaurant! Can’t wait to get back
Great place for a lovely, delicious, relaxing lunch.
I decided to check out this restaurant while I had a cousin in from out of town. She was staying in the hotel attached, so we decided to try it out. Restaurant was really nice and our waitress (and waiter. We had two for a little while) was really nice. We got the Brussels sprouts appetizer, which was good. I ordered the chicken and dumplings for my main entree. Based on the description, I thought I was getting a chicken pasta entree with dumplings as well. But when it arrived, I realized I just ordered $19 soup. And it was only okay. After a slightly disappointing dinner, my cousin and I split that chocolate cake, which was good but pretty much your basic chocolate cake with a scoop of ice cream. Overall, I thought the service was friendly but the food was overpriced.
We ate at the Co-op because we were staying at the hotel. I had the special short-rib ravioli which sounded great but tasted awful. It was so so salty to the point that I could not eat the pasta and tried to just eat the ravioli filling. Instead I ate part of my son's dinner which was the chicken and it was okay. They also had a potato bread with ricotta cheese and thyme. Again, the cheese spread was very salty and there was no thyme flavor at all and it too was not edible. The caesar was the only item I had that was decent and I enjoyed the breadcrumbs. We also ordered breakfast for room service-- very simple pancakes and bacon. It too was not great. I also ordered the granola parfait which was nothing special. The granola was clearly store-bought and it was all packed in a small cup so when you put your spoon it, all the ingredients fell out. Overall I would not recommend eating at this restaurant. For such a good location, they can do better.
Service was terrible. They didn’t really know the menu at all and you wouldn’t see your server for 20 minutes which is rough when you just want to pay your bill.
I got the salmon eggs Benedict. Salmon was almost inedible. It was kind of cooked in a way and tasted like vinegar. We think they poach the eggs in water with vinegar which is normal and then either drop the salmon in or something like that.
My husband got the prime rib sandwich and said it wasn’t great which would be fine at a bar but it’s definitely not cheap so was a letdown.
My son ordered fruity pebble French toast and was pumped about it but they brought over regular French toast and just forgot to tell us the kitchen ran out of fruity pebbles. He was so bummed.
$100 brunch and was a major letdown. I think they’ve gotten too used to waiting on Penn students that are probably brutal.
Delicious breakfast! Great for a casual breakfast or a good place for a breakfast meeting.
The food was very good. The service wasn’t great. We were there for brunch and I wasn’t offered a second cup of coffee nor were we asked if we would like more drinks. The server gave us our check prior to us receiving our entrees. He told us several times “there is no rush” but we felt extremely rushed.
Oily and heavy food with very few vegetarian options. Expensive, but not really worth it. Desserts are good.
Great place to eat, amazing ambiance.
It’s was some good stuff man real good with real food
I went there for lunch. The salads were expensive and the portions were small. The salad is not served with any bread. I was charged $3 for some bread to eat with my a $15 salad!
The burger didn't have a good taste.
The waitress was inattentive (although the restaurant was almost empty). We had to call her several time to have water refilled and to have the a slide of tomato and lettuce that come with the burger.
Very disappointing experience.
Had a great experience! Will definitely go back again!!!!!
Enjoyed the location, cleanliness and professional staff - very friendly
Christmas Eve dinner with my family. Food and service were excellent!
The burger is to die for!!!! This was such a nice meal.
Lively and fun service, interesting and creative menu, great drinks -- a great experience.
This might be the most bland food I've ever eaten before.
Tuesday night’s special was short rib tacos, which was pulled BBQ rib meat in soft tacos, with chips and green salsa. The salsa had added avocado and medium spicy (very tasty). It was a nice portion, not too big. The tacos had plenty of meat, tasted very good, and were filling. There are several wines available by the glass or bottle, and a selection of local beers. It was not very crowded when I was there, but it seemed quieter than what I expected so I’m guessing it won’t be that loud when it does get crowded. Service was friendly, but unobtrusive.
Chose Co-op to celebrate a colleague’s retirement. This was a first visit to the restaurant for 4 of the 5 in my party. Server gave a warm greeting and a complimentary dessert to our guest of honor. Server disappeared for long stretches without checking in thus making it a longer evening for some of us to commute home.
The food, however, was top notch. Everyone exclaimed over how delicious their chosen entree and dessert was. I ordered the swordfish and it was a sizable portion served with a flavorful sauce and vegetables.
An unexpected find. Wait staff couldn't have been friendlier. Food was tasty, recommended wine superb.
Food was good... too much salt.
Waiter was very nice but his timing was off...
Second time there
Great food and cool atmosphere.
Attentive bar and dining staff. Great small plates and entrees. Nice location between universities.
Usually COOP is a great place for lunch with colleagues because it is much quieter than many campus area restaurants, but on this particular day, service was agonizingly slow and made us very late for our next appointment. This can happen anywhere, so we'll give it another try, but it really messed up our client's day!
The food has been wonderful every time I've eaten here. This was no exception. Marie, our server was patient, informative, and extremely pleasant. My two guests were new to Co-op and really enjoyed the food and ambiance.
Nice dinner. Servers needed more help during Penn family weekend-nice but overwhelmed.
Salmon and burger were delicious. Cerviche had an odd flavor.
Would definitely return.
We had a really nice early dinner. Service was prompt, and the was delicious! The burger was really flavorful and the ricotta appetizer was to die for! We would definitely go back.
I was here a week or so ago for brunch and loved it so much that we came back for dinner. Started with fabulous cocktails - really creative and whimsical and delicious! I am vegan, my dinner companions are not and Co-op did not disappoint! We shared a kale and quinoa salad which was wonderful. Then I had the most delicious and creative cauliflower, parsnip and onion dish ever! Doesn’t sound like it’s so exciting but the flavors, textures and presentation were all off the charts! While I was busy conquering my dish, my friends shared a fried chicken dish and scallops, both tempted me to abandon my new veganism and by the looks of the plates that went back to the kitchen (completely empty!) everyone loved the food! Dessert and coffee were terrific. The service was outstanding. Our waiter was knowledgeable, friendly and took care of us beautifully. I can’t wait to go back again!
I hate to give such a negative review but Co Op has a lot of work to do. Our server was inattentive, for example he took our drink order and did not return with the drinks for nearly 15 minutes. Our entire meal was somewhat cold which leads me to think it may have sat in the window waiting for pick up.
Not a memorable experience. I will start with the coffee served which wad at best Luke Warm and not expected when paying $4.50 for it. Next, my lunch meal was avacado toast with a mug of the butternut squash bisque. For a meal that costs $16, I was amazed that I was served a single cold slice of toast with some avo mash and an egg on top. $16 price point for a single toast? My bisque was at best just a pureed squash, mediocre taste and finally the spoon to drink my soup with had to be requested twice and took 10 minutes to get to my table. Definitely not worth it and not coming here again.
While the waiter was attentive and friendly, our drinks took way too long to arrive; my friend's drink was the wrong one; they ran out of limes; the friend chicken was under cooked. The food itself was very good, except for the chicken being undercooked.
Better service would have been appreciated!
I met a friend at Co op for lunch. It is a nice setting. Our food was good. My friend had a cheeseburger, I had a half sandwich & soup. Again, tasty food. The service was very spotty. We met at 11:30 a.m.on a Monday. I noticed only one server on the floor. She tended to us quickly, but we never saw her again, and we had to flag a manager for more service and our check. Perhaps Co op was short handed that day? We will give it another shot, especially since our food was good.
Enjoyed great food every time we've been there. Service always outstanding.
I really want this place to do well. Its so convenient to my office and the space is lovely. *BUT* the food (I have tried several times!) is always hit or miss... today was a miss (on a salad!).
Nice brunch though marred by waiting 15 minutes past our reservation time.
