Dog Point Organic Sauvignon Blanc, Marlborough New Zealand£50.00
James Healy and Ivan Sutherland are Sauvignon Blanc experts with over 50 years of winemaking experience between them. After spending a decade at Cloudy Bay, they began making this Sauvignon from Sutherland's vineyards, which were planted in the '70s and '80s. This vine age makes for a unique complexity in their wine. As a result, it's long been the darling of critical praise. It has plush notes of passionfruit and citrus, and a saline acidity.

Château Meyney 'La Chapelle de Meyney', Saint-Estèphe, France£60.00
This 92-point claret is made by Château Meyney, the only winery in Médoc that has clay soils similar to those at £2,500-per-bottle Pétrus. It's a second wine in name, but it's made with the same care as the Grand Vin. The only difference is that it's from younger vines - which are still, on average, 35-years-old. Its depths of black-fruit flavour and snappy tannins are beginning to hit their peak right now.
Charmes de Kirwan Margaux 2016/17, France£75.00
A delicate blend of traditional Bordeaux grapes, which gives the wine structure and balance – Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. This comes from younger vines than their Grand Vin – but it's made with the same scrupulous attention to detail. It has a higher proportion of Merlot, giving it a supple, rounded mouthfeel and delicious plummy notes. True to its Margaux roots, it's a plush, fragrant claret that's full of perfumed blackberry, blackcurrant, black cherry and spice aromas. Its firm tannins will make it an ideal pairing to roasted meats or strong cheese after an hour in the decanter.
Louis Jadot Morey-St-Denis 2016£90.00
Few Burgundy names are as recognisable as Louis Jadot, founded in the region in 1859 and dedicated to producing top-quality wines ever since. Today sustainability also forms a core part of the approach with vineyards around Beaune managed to organic principles. This includes those in Morey-Saint-Denis, a commune situated between Gevrey-Chambertin and Chambolle-Musigny in the centre of the Côte de Nuits. Pinot Noir grapes from the calcareous clay soils – reaching altitudes of up to 360m – are gently pressed before being aged for 18 months in French oak barrels.
