About Club Lucky
Club Lucky features the hearty pastas, fresh seafood and classic dishes of Southern Italy, and Sicily; not to mention Chicago classics such as Chicken Vesuvio. House specialties range from daily hand-made stuffed pastas to perfectly grilled steaks & chops. A mainstay in the Bucktown/Wicker Park area for over 23 years, upon entering you find brick walls, formica tables, and oversized Naugahyde booths that provide a genuine design element to complement “grandmother's recipes” on the Italian menu. All sauces & pastas are made on-site, and each recipe is made with what the Owners call “a little bit of love.” Some of the most sought-after dishes are the Lamb Chops, Antipasti Platters and Spinach Lasagna. Desserts are all housemade as well, with the profiteroles being the most popular. Minutes from downtown hotels, theaters, and the United Center. Hotel Concierge and/or their guests enjoy VIP reservations. Our atmosphere is casual, the portions are generous and the prices are reasonable.

Club Lucky Ratings and Reviews
Club Lucky always delights and allowed me to enjoy Italian although I have gluten allergies. The food, service and drinks were on point and as expected, fantastic. My Spaghetti Carbonara was delicious with a nice cream sauce, with thick chunks of bacon and enough for lunch the next day. The bar is nice and cozy, though I didn't spend much time in there as we had a reservation.
The waitress was great, responsive and helpful. Always pleased and will be heading back again.
This was my second time and boy I should have quit while I was ahead. We started with caprese salads, which were very fresh and tasty despite it being past local tomato season. However, we then waited about 45 minutes for our entrees, such that we had been there over an hour before we got the main meal even though we arrived at 4:30 before things got too busy. Then, the worst happened. The waitress blew the gluten free order, so my guest, who is medically unable to eat gluten, was unable to eat her meal until they brought another dish. So three people had dinner and one did not. The worst. Then, the replacement came faster than seemed possible to properly prepare new gluten free pasta, making my guest so nervous about it that she was unable to eat much at all. On top of this, the waitress first tried to claim it was not her fault, and then barely offered an "i'm sorry." We did not ask and were not accommodated in any way for this major faux pas, as I would expect in a top notch restaurant.
My spaghetti scallopini and my wife's chicken marsala both were very good.
We LOVE Club Lucky. But were not super impressed this time around. The food was good. But not great. Our server was okay. We had to ask for the specials. But we did hear him chatting up bigger tables. And in the end we spent $150 plus tip on dinner and left there not being super impressed. We'll be back. But we hope that their popularity hasn't let them slip in their quality on a long term basis.
Food was excellent. Server was awful: server forgot the chicken in the fettuccini Alfredo and then just brought us a bowl of chicken to plop on top. Then tried serving us an extra drink which we didn’t order. He also gave us a hard time about splitting the check 3 ways for 6 people.. we love this place and it’s a neighborhood favorite but for the price, this was saddening.
This was not my first time here and previously had a good experience. In short, it was extremely rushed. We went for an early dinner and although included we we're celebrating a birthday there was no acknowledgement so why ask? We were done within 35 mins and everything was brought out all at once which made for a crowded table. The restaurant was not full so not sure why the server didn't wait to bring entrees until we had eaten apps. Better luck next time.
Our family celebrates birthdays and other special occasions at Club Lucky. It's very child-friendly. A bit noisy but that's probably because of all the other families who enjoy this restaurant. Food is great, as is the service. Very friendly and accommodating!
The gluten-free pasta was exceptional!! I️ had the spaghettini with beef meatballs and it was delicious. The bread basket was fresh, as well as our grilled calamari appetizer. The ambiance was vibrant and the overall feel of the place was lively and lovely! Definitely coming back.
Was celebrating a birthday, service was good and food was delivered very quickly (almost too quickly to be honest) didn't leave a lot of time to sit and enjoy company . The vibe of place was energetic and there were lots of other groups dining. I had made a note we were celebrating a birthday and the server brought us a tiramisu which was nice!
Club Lucky as always is a great choice for dinner. I brought my daughter and her two friends before seeing Hamilton. They loved the meal and the atmosphere. This was the place in Chicago my daughter wanted to bring her two friends. They had a fantastic time.
The host here thinks he is the doorman at Studio 54 - but far from it. We stopped coming here years ago because of the host and will never return after this recent visit. Apparently if you come to this place with any age of child, you are treated like crap.
My daughter and I visited Club Lucky on a recommendation. We are SO happy that we took the drive from downtown Chicago. We put our name on a wait-list before we left our hotel, and were seated immediately upon arrival. It was Halloween night and the place was very busy. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. He brought soft, homemade bread right away, along with our drinks. I had the Pomplemousse, which was one of their specialty drinks that night. It was fantastic! Happily, we did not wait long for our dinner either. I had the parmesan chicken, which was a very hearty meal for the price. The chicken was breaded and tender, and the sauce was perfect. The restaurant itself is adorable...1940's, retro, authentic. Very fun place. We will be back!
My in-laws came into town and are super foodies. They have traveled to Italy and Sicily many times. They even did a Rick Steves cooking class in Sicily. They loved it here. Great food and fun atmosphere. The calamari appetizer is to die for! I love the meatball salad. The pasta dishes are great as well. The chicken is very moist. DELIZIOSO!
I made a reservation via Opentable. From the Opentable web site, there were lots of choices almost any time was available. No special event or notice was given that due to the Chicago Marathon the next day, their menu was limited. When we got there, we found out it was limited. I have been going to Club Lucky off and on since it opened in 1990. One of the reasons I wanted to go there was the stuffed artichoke. Of course, with the limited menu, that I was not aware of until we sat down, they refused to serve the stuffed artichoke. The other issue was the table they tried to seat us at was literally next to the kitchen and the serving window. On one side was constantly buffeted by the parade of wait staff picking up dishes, etc. on the other there was about 8 inches and clearly not enough room for an adult to sit without hitting the next table. Those issues combined with the heat coming from the kitchen made the table unacceptable. Before actually sitting down, we informed the hostess, and told sorry, this is the only table. I kindly asked for the manager, since there were several open tables not in this area, and also for a two top. She finally took us back to the host stand were we were told that was all they had, witch was clearly not true. After much consternation , we were seated at another one of the several open two tops. The food there is ok, but if the management is this bad, it makes the place not worth a repeat trip anytime soon.
