The Clocktower restaurant, set inside the stylish four AA Red Star Rudding Park hotel in North Yorkshire, is a super example of decadent dining at its best. We adore the über-chic interior at Clocktower, which features everything from a 400 year old Catalonian olive tree, hand-painted Brazilian wallpaper and a 27 foot limestone bar to a divine hand-made pink crystal chandelier from France. Executive Chef Stephanie Moon is renowned for her Yorkshire Tapas – which includes a variety of dishes such as the mini Yorkshire puddings with roast beef and horseradish sauce, Holme Farm venison sausages with apple and geranium jelly, and the Yorkshire blue cheese parcels with blueberry and balsamic vinegar, and the Whitby smoked haddock in Black Sheep beer batter. The Clocktower bar is open all day everyday.

The whole experience at Rudding Park near Harrogate was excellent. We went for a late Saturday lunch. Restaurants, especially in hotels, can be a bit lacking in atmosphere at that time of day but this was buzzing. The food was simply superb. Service was excellent - efficient but friendly. And made even better by the fact that we received a discount which we were not expecting so was amazing value too.

a very civilised evening at Clocktower, Harrogate. Starters of whitebait and devilled kidneys both very tasty. The Chateaubriand was so tender you hardly needed a knife to cut it, and rare just as we wanted. The chunky chips and wilted spinach a suitable accompaniment. No room for dessert tho' it all looked very tempting. NZ Pinot Gris and rich smooth Fess Parker Californian Zinfandel excellent vinous partners. Well worth the trip.

Arrived at the Clocktower in Harrogate an hour early but the kind and attentive staff showed us to a table straight away. Great surroundings, grade 1 listed building but with modern touches. Had quite a light lunch and was not blown away by the food but we really should have tried something more substantial (we only ate a sandwich). Not bad value considering were you are, everything clean and tidy, plenty of car parking space available, valet if your feeling flush. I would definatly go again.
