The food is fun and eclectic. I really like the Asian flavors used. Everything tastes fresh and authentic. The kimchi is good stuff, not too salty.

We sat at the high top tables, which surprisingly had the most comfortable chairs because they had a back (rarely see those) food was great especially the cauliflower panang dip! Service was a little slow in the beginning but our waters were always topped off. Def recommend!

Service good. Party of 40 noisy people taking over most of restaurant. Made it difficult to have conversation. Loud speeches being made, etc. Seems like restaurant should advise no speeches as we don't have a private room. Otherwise, they should buyout the restaurant. Food-meh. I had the sole (fish). Fish was very mushy and smellier than it should be. Sauce was consistency of baby food. I should have sent it back. I ate very little of it. My friends ate their food, so I'm assuming it was good--shaking beef and pork ramen. I think I'll stick with appetizers at this restaurant, as my last meal of pad thai was bland and needed seasoning, including salt. Weird.

This was an amazing menu of really fresh ingredients for a wonderful Asian type restaurant. The ambiance was really cool! They had amazing French Roast coffee served in cute China cups from Goodwill! Perfect!

I was celebrating a successful medical procedure and the maitre d presented my boyfriend and I with complimentary champagne drinks. This thoughtful gesture set the stage for the entire dining experience.

We came for my birthday and had a wonderful time. We shared 5 different appetizers that were so delicious. The speciality cocktails were a treat too. And there was even a wonderful surprise birthday deliciousness to enjoy at the end. We are definitely coming back.

AZ Restaurant week, went with the intent to take advantage of the tasting menu, but opted out when we saw so many other items I wanted to try. I made Saturday 7:30 Opentable dinner reservations at the Gilbert location. Love the atmosphere. our server Christian was very good and attentive.

We ordered cocktails, the shaken Unholy Alliance was amazing along with the traditional Margarita. Food was the Galbi Short Ribs, Trio of Buns (softshell crab and the pork belly), Chicken Dumplings and the House Pad Thai with shrimp. All the food and drinks were amazing, the weakest dish was the Pad Thai. I will definitely be back to try other menu items.

Atmosphere: trendy, Service: very good, Food: very good.

We enjoyed the food. The Pad Thai, in particular, we very flavourful and not soupy like some places. Everything we ordered was nicely done. We will definitely be back. Welcome to Gilbert, Clever Koi!

The food was creative and delicious: short-rib dumplings (5 per order), confit wings, Korean fried chicken, crispy pineapple duck rice, and banana fritters with miso-caramel sauce. The drinks were generously poured, though I found the $2 charge for ice for liquor on-the-rocks to be a tad "nickel-and-dimey". I also think the amount of dumplings per order should be increased from 5 to 6 for the purpose of sharing. Staff was very attentive and accommodating. Will return soon to sample the rest of the menu :-)

Always look forward to dining at Clever Koi. Most often bring out of town guests to impress and/or make very happy. This time it was our foodie friends from NYC who loved it. Travis wonderful in making sure that our wish that there would still be tuna chips (as requested in our reservation) - one of our favorites. Can't wait until next time. Usually like to share and that works well at Clever Koi.

Interesting food selection - a must try. It might not be for the less adventurous. I liked it the wife is not interested in gong back. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys eating interesting foods. Can't give more of a recommendation as I've only had a single meal there

The food was amazing but our server was not the best that we’ve had. I marked that we were celebrating a special occasion in the notes when I made the reservation and she never acknowledged it, never asked what we were celebrating. She may have have too many tables as she only came by a handful of times to check on us and took an unusually long time to grab boxes to box our food up. I even had to hunt down a buser to get a bag to take our leftovers home.

Love the atmosphere and food options! Craft cocktails were the highlight. While delicious, portions were much smaller than expected, and not many choices for gluten free. We will be back for drinks!

My husband and I ate at the Gilbert Clever Koi on a Saturday night. The dining scene in downtown Gilbert has exploded recently and we wanted to try something new, so we went to Clever Koi. The waitress was very nice and explained the entire menu since it was our first time at the restaurant. She highly recommended the dumplings, so we ordered the drunken chicken dumplings as an appetizer. They were crispy on the outside and very tasty on the inside (some of the best dumplings I have ever had; however, I am not a dumpling expert). I got the pork ramen as my entire and it was excellent. All the flavors went together perfectly and I couldn't stop eating the dish. My husband got the spicy seafood hot pot. He loves spicy dishes and seafood so it was a win-win for him. Beware this dish is very spicy but he loved it. The only downside of this restaurant was a table nearby had children and they were letting them run around their table a bit and were very loud. This is very annoying to other patrons but I don't blame the restaurant for this, just the parents. I guess that's the downside to dining out in Gilbert, kids are always at the restaurants, even on a Saturday night.
