Food lagged to come out. Otherwise good experience.
I have dined at Cleo quite a few times. I have to say this time the chef was very heavy with the oil. The spinopitka was dripping with so much oil that when I moved them from the serving plate to a smaller plate, even the new plate was saturated with oil. And the brussels sprouts had so much oil that there was oil pooled under the paper liner. Despite this, the overall flavors were good.
The food is incredible!
Amazing Mediterranean food! Labneh, hummus, latkes, roasted cauliflower, baba- what more can you ask for??
Authentic full flavor menu was a gem. Atmosphere was exciting and casual. Excellence service. Will be going again!
The food is good, but not so special as to justify the price or noise level.
Food is always good but it took literally 30 minutes (No exaggeration) to get our drinks. We were served all of our food before our first drink arrived. They need to work out staff. The original on Hollywood and Vine was much better...They did a nice job though with that space on Third.
Cleo's Mediterraneo in The Orlando Hotel is one three Cleo's restaurants in Los Angeles. This one sits on a popular street corner on West Third with inddor and outdoor seating. Serving Mediterranean food, they do better with Middle Eastern dishes than with Greek dishes . The Crispy artichoke hummus is excellent as are ALL the Kabobs (The skirt steak Kabob in particular is delish). If you're a fan of traditional Moussakah or Saganaki, theirs are good, not great. The service is extremely friendly and accommodating.
Always a wonderful experience! The food is incredible.
I was there for my best friend's bachelorette party. After receiving the check, the restaurant charged the entire bill (several hundreds of dollars) on my card, although we had received 6 separate checks. When noticing the charge after dinner, I spoke to a manager (or host) who advised me to call my bank and dispute the charge. I work in the restaurant business myself and handle credit cards every single day. This is not acceptable, and I should not have to call my bank to dispute a big charge like this. I'm disappointed by how the manager/host was so nonchalant about the charge and simply asked me to call my bank. As an experienced restaurant worker, I know how important it is to be careful and observant when handling other people's money. This was not ok, and I'm clearly not happy about this situation.
On that lunch, we were inside, very loud due to a couple of large tables and very noisy diners. Perhaps I will try outside next time.
The food was delicious. The chef really knows what he’s doing.
The wine had to be chilled, it took a while to be brought to the table.
With my chopped salad, I wanted bread. I was charged $3 extra for it.
Overall, I would give 5 stars for the food only.
It was super great, starters, entrees and desserts.
Best meal we hade in LA.
So loud we were hoarse before we left trying to shout our conversation. Didn’t even offer a main course still on an outdated menu. Over priced. Good wait staff.
A month or so, my dear friend called and asked if she could visit. I responded with a definite Yes. She was excited to come to LA again. She asked if there was any place in mind that I would like to eat. She wanted to treat. I told her no exactly and I would find a spot. Well, I was like I am booking a restaurant a month in advance, I don't know what I would want to eat tomorrow let alone a month from now. So I began searching, I found Cleo. I didn't make the reservations cause again who knows what appetite we would have. Long and short of it, the week comes, I was still thinking of Cleo. I booked it. We arrive to this beautiful place which happens to be connected to an equally beautiful hotel, Orlando. We are sited and the waiter comes over to greet us. He was warm and attentive. My friend was impressed by him. She was swooning over him to say the least. We ordered drinks to start. I would have to say hands down, Bartender got his life with those drinks. Awesome! Ok, we ordered some quick starters of the hummus and a order of brussels sprouts. The hummus was fresh and just right. The big deal for me was the flat bread served. I don't eat a lot of bread but I could have just ate it. It was fresh baked, seasoned and warm. Just goodness. The brussel sprouts were delicious but we did have to send them back. Someone was accidentally a little heavy handed with the salt on the first batch. We ordered several of the small plates, the chicken and steak kebabs and the saffron basmati rice. All I can tell you from this point was that we cleared it all. It was all perfectly cooked tender and moist. In closing, this was a great experience with even better food. I will reserve again.
I ordered a martini and it was $20 and not even filled up. Drinks are very short pours and very expensive. I would order the crispy artichoke hummus to go and drink my own bottle of wine at home!
I love the Cleo chain and have visited the Hollywood and LA Live locations several times. I was disappointed in the "new" 3rd Street location.
It took the waitress over 10 minutes to greet us and then after that, our first dishes arrived before our cocktail menu. You know that wine or cold drinks have been sitting when they are "sweating" on the glass.
Also, my colleague keeps kosher and her salmon was delivered on the same plate as my shrimp. A big no-no. YIkes.
The food is still delish but the service was less than wonderful.
Ambiance is whatever. And the waiters couldn't wait to run away after each time they came
Excellent Food and service. Need to get back to try more of the menu. Lamb Shawarma is a must.
Worst service I’ve ever had!! Makes me so sad because i love Cleo’s HOLLYWOOD and their food is amazing. Not sure exactly who our waiter was but when we finally asked a waiter he ended up taking our order. Long story short we were neglected by whoever our waiter was suppose to be and was given attitude. After we had asked to order some appetizers and finished them we had stopped that waiter that had taken our order to see if we could order dinner. He was like “ohhh i think the kitchen is closed, let me check.” Like seriously? I came here to have dinner, why is this even an issue? We ended up asking for the bill and not ordering dinner since they clearly didn’t care to serve us that night. The table we sat at was right by the sliding door and it has been freezing here in LA. We had asked to be moved at any point to be away from the sliding door but that never happened either. Before leaving we were so mortified by the service it was impossible to leave without speaking to a manager which by the way makes me so uncomfortable. We told him about our experience and his reaction was like talking to a brick wall. Someone please help this place!! Get better waiters that actually want to work and a manager who cares about customer service.
Everything was great except our waitress who was basically on another planet – I think she had a bad audition or something
First time in on 3rd St and all I can say is amazing! Great server, awesome food and good friends what more can you ask for!
Food Was Delicious and service was excelent the only thing I was disappointed with was i had left a message to have desert given at the end for my husbands birthday and I even confirmed over the phone with Cleo Staff that same day but we were given a menu for desert after meal and not a surprise anymore.
The food was amazing! The service was good ! I love it
Good was amazing. Each dish was unique and tasty! Will defiantly go back again soon.
Food is always solid and delicious but service was a little lacking. Plates were not cleared and empty water bottle sat on the table the whole night. Was there for birthday and no candle was remembered. One of our dishes never arrived and no one was very apologetic about it.
The food was delicious but the service was awful. We waited about 15 minutes for a server to come to the table to take our drink orders. When we ordered dessert it took over 20minutes so we just paid and left with no dessert. I was so disappointed because I did love the food but service also has to be good.
Disappointing. The hollywood location was much better. The service and food were nothing to come back for.
Food as good as Cleo in Hollywood slightly smaller menu. Still a little pricey
Everything was great - better than the Hollywood Cleo was. Only problem we had was with patio sitting they did not have working gas heaters for the patio. No gas. Management issue.
Have always loved Cleo since the first location opened in Hollywood in 2010. Look forward to it reopening in the fall. The new 3rd street location is very nice but I miss items like dolmades and kibbeh on the menu.
The food was absolutely amazing and worth while! The food comes out in order of freshness, meaning you can’t really ask for things to come out together because they come out as they are ready. We waited 35 minutes for my friend’s birthday cake which was absurd and embarrassing, but overall a nice experience.
Staff was incredible and food was amazing. I have nothing but good to say about this restaurant. Thank you for such great service and a wonderful night out.
We had a terrible server... he had an attitude from the moment we sat down... He never smiled... the food was average and priced too high for what it was... you can get much better food in LA at that price point, but really, our server was the main problem
I have never eaten at a CLEO that wasn't perfect, absolutely every dish on point and beyond flavorful. I was with 6 people who had never gone to CLEO and they all raved. Service is wonderful and they made a big birthday of mine so perfect. I will never stop coming back.
We had reservations but had to wait one hour to be seated. The manager was very kind to us but we won’t be going back.
we enjoyed most of the dishes; especially the lamb tajine , which we thought was outstanding.
we felt that the portion sizes were on the skimpy side, especially given that the dishes are expected to be shared.
so overall: food -pretty good, value - not so much
Great food, service and ambWe had guests visiting from France and they absolutely loved the experience.
Amazing food as always expected at Cleo, beautiful setup but more casual than Cleo in Hollywood. Will definitely be coming back!
I went to the original Cleo in Hollywood just as they opened and became a fan very quickly. The food was amazing, it was cool and hip. I was so sad when they closed for reonovation. So we tried the 3rd street location this past week. The place is super cool, 2 levels, the food was amazing (some menu changes) but it didn't disappoint. The service was great. I will be making more stops here while I wait for Hollywood to re-open!
Great food. Better ambiance at Hollywood location.
Fantastic food, great service and very nice decor
