Appetizers and main course were excellent - skip the baklava dessert however.
they need more server for saturday brunch, only 2 working and there must be an event at the bar, so service is not good and kitchen very slow
Excellent food but way too $$ for what you get. Great service. Good wine list.
The food was phenomenal. Our server was nice and on top of my drink. He made menu suggestions. Would come back again and again
Awful! Kept getting items we didn't order. One of our appetizer dishes ordered at the very beginning didn't arrive until the very end of our meal until upon asking why we didn't receive it. Charged twice for one dish and charged extra for bread which was supposed to be free. Upon complaining about the faulty service and erroneous bill the Manager, Teodora assured that I would get a refund but had to email accounting since her system couldn't process the refund. I emailed the accounting per her instructions and copied her on the email and It's been over a week and I never received a refund and was charged. Disgusting!! Avoid Cleo at all costs unless you want to pay hundreds for heated pita bread and basic hummus, yogurt, etc. Overpriced for below mediocre service and food.
Amazing Mediterranean food. Authentic and delicious plates to share! Highly recommend?
We felt like we were being rushed to order and once ordered felt like we were being rushed to leave
The food arrived too fast, we were 5 ppl and finished dinner in less then an hour. We got the food before the drinks, felt like they just want to get rid of us.
Food is amazing!!!!! Wish the location in downtown was still open :(
Food is always excellent here but the service is very inconsistent. Drinks took forever because apparently there was only 1 bartender working on a Sunday night which sounds absolutely absurd to me. Will definitely continue to dine here but don't be expecting even 4 Star service.
The food is very average for this category of food type, and its over price for this type of food and quality i think the idea was good but got lost in the process trying to make to much money to fast for fast food as this.
The food and service here are excellent. The main drawback is the more limited menu offerings compared to the original on Vine.
The food was delicious but the service was terrible...it was also so noisy that my husband and I couldn’t even have a conversation..and to top that off- there was a couple just about having sex at their table and no one said anything to them- very inappropriate! That is the last time I will go back there.
I didn’t like a dish at all. I took one bite and sent it back. It was over cooked and tasted gross. They still billed us for it which was not cool. The rest of the food was good though.
Truly enjoy this place but goodness the service is painfully slow:/ Writing this to help!
Cleo Tested 4 times: Terrible Service That Can Ruin The Whole Experience
My wife and I eat out with clients, friends and family several times a month in the Beverly Hills/West Hollywood area. As great as the restaurant scene is in LA, we sometimes get a little bored with the classic California cuisine. When Cleo opened on third street we were so excited by the menu offering and we couldn't wait to eat there. Sad to say, though, our first experience of Cleo was a big letdown in terms of table service, meals coming to the table late and the waiters not knowing what to do. However, we were willing to write off that first experience as a new restaurant that just needs to work out the kinks. We have since gone back to Cleo three more times and, sad to say, the lack of service just keeps getting worse.
We are pretty easy going and our tolerance for restaurant pain is quite high, but Cleo takes the cake in terms of disappointing service. Each time we go there our food courses never come out on time, nor do we seem to get all the items we ordered. We have had to check with the waiters two and three times to make sure we get the falafels or some other key item. They usually tell us they forgot to put them in and that they'll be out in a just a few minutes, but we still don't get our food until the very end. Perhaps thats a kitchen problem, but its the waiter's job to keep the patrons aware of what's going on. It is not the guests job to keep reminding the waiters of food they ordered. The dirty plates often sit on the tables for long lengths of time and the drink glasses sit empty, even though you might want more to drink. Some of the waiter's attitudes are pretty negative and uncivil, but I would not put the blame on the waiters as much as I would management. The food is hit or miss. (Get the hummus, but don't eat the seafood!) All said, I can not recommend this restaurants to my clients, friends or family. I wish Cleo best of luck in getting things fixed.
Favorite dishes were the Brussels sprouts and the snapper. Portions on the smaller side. Flavors were very good. Biggest criticism was the valet parking - $12, and right next the valet was $7.
The music was very loud and we asked them to turn it down and they did.
Food was great.
Service was very good but a little slow.
I was some what disappointed because I was looking forward to going here and it wasn't what I was expecting. I might give it another try but only for happy hour.
While the food was spectacular , the service was horrible. We had a reservation here for the first time. We were very dressed up and was seated at this tiny table that I would never classify as a dinner table. We then requested for another table. The host then leaves says she’s going to return and does not do that. We had to chase after her. Finally she says , sit anywhere you want so we did that. Then it took forever to get a server to come over and then they take our drink order but then we were given no menus. So then we had to flag another server for the menu. It took forever by the time we ordered and actually had dinner. The food was the only thing that made up for the experience . Very disappointing. If I were to go again, I would not recommend the location on 3rd st. I would go to Hollywood.
They ruined my birthday dinner. The service was so terrible. They did not bring out the food with the sides that it came with and left half the order off. We sat for three hours and still everything came out wrong. The manager half way through sent us out a complimentary bottle of champagne but even so they botched the rest of dinner. In the end, he was so embarrassed he comped the entire bill. I appreciated that but still nevertheless with so many restaurants in LA, please do not choose Cleo for any special occasions. You will most likely be disappointed.
Truly an incredible dining experience. Can’t wait to go back!!!
The serving of food was really SLOW!
Very fine food and excellent service
We went on a double date and shared lots of small plates. The food was excellent. The service wasn’t up to standard - our water was never refilled and we weren’t warned about last call on drinks. It seemed our waitress might have been new to waiting tables or perhaps just a little checked out.
The ambiance of this place is a lot better than the other location; I thought that place’s decor was over the top and tacky.
Really enjoyed the menu. And service was great.
Food was wonderful! Highly recommend! Had fun! A+++++++++
Thank you!Very Very tasty!
Amazing and delicious!
This place is Magical!!! The Food is amazing and the ambiance is perfect if you want to take a date or actually it’d be perfect for any occasion. The staff is great and very helpful. If you come here you will not be disappointed!!
The crispy artichoke hummus with the fresh homemade bread was phenomenal. Great fun cocktails as well
For a party of 12 setting in hight table was uncomfortable
Too slow service. Food okay
Not impressed. This place used to be the Churchill and was so much more fun, lively, and welcoming. Now the tables are so close together, the service is horrible. A $16 drink was served to us in a glass the size of a shot glass. Ridiculously overpriced, save yourself time and money.
The food is always amazing. Hollywood location was great but now it's so close to home. The artichoke hummus, babaganoush, Greek salad and lebaneh never disappoint. Also recommend the tandoori chicken and saffron chicken.
Cleo is not what it was in the past since they have changed their menu. I’ve been to the Miami Cleo and this location in the last two months and chain wide they’re the same. The ambiance is lacking, food is not great anymore and I don’t think this restaurant chain will be in business in the next three years! Would no longer recommend!!!!
We ordered a variety of small dishes. They were all delicious. Noteworthy was the Brussels sprouts and the chicken tangin. Will definitely return again.
We made a reservation only to be told the owner of SBE was coming and couldn’t have our table. Very rude greeting and I wouldn’t recommend this place due to this shady behavior.
Food was very good but service needs to be better
The only thing I would suggest is to have the same menu options as the other locations. Especially when the vine location is closed.
