DESPITE THE FACT THAT THE RESTAURANT IS CLOSED (AS IN OUT OF BUSINESS) I STILL GOT A CONFIRMATION AND WE WENT EXPECTING TO HAVE DINNER . VERY BAD EXPERIENCE.
Took my mom there for Mother’s Day. Food was delicious and great service. Location is nice but it doesn’t compare to the Hollywood location.
My wife’s birthday and you made her feel very special. We’ve been to your restaurant in Las Vegas, and very glad there’s one closer to our home.
Delicious food, great service. Server was attentive. No events taking place at LA Live so kitchen closed at 930. I totally get it but felt it was a tad bit too early. Definitely a different vibe from Cleo Hollywood. Better people watching and ambience there but food was delish!
The food and service was very good. But we were there on a Saturday with no game at Staples center and the waiter came by at 8:45pm saying that the kitchen was about to close. I have never heard of a restaurant closing so early on a saturday night. Crazy.
Great time entertaining 20 guests. Everyone enjoyed their food and cocktails. Amazing appetizers!
I've long been a fan of Cleo, with repeat visits to Hollywood & also Miami. We went with friends to the LA Live Cleo on a Sunday night, 6pm, before a concert at the Microsoft Theatre. I was shocked to hear that nearly every notable menu item we asked for resulted in our waiter responding with, "We're out of that now." No joke. Ended up eating flatbread and tons of hummus for most of the meal. Bummed, meat entrees out, half of the small plates out..but wait, we did get an extra side of rice. Additionally, our waiter seemed absent most of the time, aside from when he dropped a glass on my boyfriend...
Food was delicious.
Cleo is always delicious!
The food was amazing as in the Cleo in Hollywood that we frequent. On the contrary to what we have come to know and appreciate in Hollywood, the service and therefore dining experience in DTLA was horrific. Slow and spotty service. We had to flag the staff for drinks and service multiple times. When we told the manager he blew us off and never returned to see if things improved or offered even an apology or a glass of wine or dessert. Never going back. Really lousy experience.
For vegetarians, many of the options were removed. Not suitable for us anymore.
Great food. Great service! 😊
Service good. Food not great and nothing compared to Cleo Hollywood
Excellent food...I've only been there on event nights, which is very hectic and taxing on the staff. They do hustle but they forgot an item and it's timing with the foods I wanted in combo was affected. They should get more staff on game nights and open the whole restaurant because you can't walk in on game nights anymore.
Food and service was great!
Most of the food was excellent , as on a prior visit, but the service was poor. Too many dishes arrived simultaneously, and the last to arrive was a small plate that we ordered first. We were pretty disappointed in the saganaki (heavy and tasteless), but the brussel sprouts, Moroccan chicken, lamb chops, and other items were all great.
We had tickets to the Kings game and got to the restaurant at 6pm. We needed to leave my 7:30. We ordered 4 dishes around 6:15. Half hour later we received 2 of our plates. We waited another 30 minutes and still no more food. Finally we caught the waiter to find out about our food and he was surprised we hadn’t received our food. We had to leave. We got the 2 dishes deducted from our ticket.
I will try it again, just not on a day the Staples Center is having an event!!!
I knew it would be a bad experience when we had to wait 20 minutes just to get menus and water. Waiters walked by our empty table numerous times without attending to our party of two, until the hostess brought our table to a waiter's attention. It took another 5 minutes after I saw that interaction for the waiter to come to our table. We ordered 2 small plates, one entree and on side off the menu. The side of potatoes came right after the small plates. I was annoyed that the waiter brought the side dish before the entree, but I assumed the entree would be arriving soon. After another 20 minute wait, the waiter finally came back to the table to inform us they were out of red snapper. After we had finished the appetizers...and even the side dish that we ordered for the entree that never came...he decided to let us know they were out of red snapper. Why did it take so long for him to tell us that?? Absolutely awful service..the drinks are weak and their "distinguished cocktail program" is uninventive...and food really isn't that good either. The place is a complete tourist trap. Do not eat here.
Team there did a great job to accommodate us when we had one additional person join in. Food was amazing, surprised how good it was for being in common LA Live area. Expected more chain food feel, but it was actually impressive!
Food was good especially the chicken, mouthwateringly tender. Food was sharing plate style so, all plates brought out at separate times. Tried hummus, spanakopita dolmades, chicken shawarma, pita all were very good. Sticky toffee pudding not so good but I thought it was sticky toffee bread pudding. Restaurant is very loud but we asked to be seated in a different section and were accommodated so, it was fine. Menu is a little limited though, different in some ways but, limited.
just OK. very confusing signage to find the place among the multitude of options at LA Live.
Food was great and service was excellent. Only negative was loud music making it difficult to talk.
We gathered for a family reunion of 9 people early on a Sunday afternoon. We ordered a number of appetizers that were all quite good, though the main dishes and brunch items were less impressive. The service was adequate, though nothing special. The restaurant wasn't too crowded during our visit which was good for conversation. However, the soundtrack was a bit loud and lively for that time of day and the $50/person tab was higher than expected.
Loved it. Great small plates. We had several amd liked every one. The cauliflower is really terrific. From a guy that likes his meat dishes this is the one we ordered a second round.
Great food and great service, we'll be back!
We were a bit dissatisfied with the service. The waiter was inattentive & distracted.
Good good and prompt service.
Service was terrible but the food was very good!
We always try to select Tapas restaurants when available. Cleo is one go the best.
What a great find at LA live. The food was delicious. Portions were served tapas style. Very creative spin and flare on traditional Mediterranean options. Variety of drink options from the region. Atmosphere was quieter than I expected especially on Friday night before a clippers game. If I had to give one feedback would be to upgrade their seating outside because it was uncomfortable and we chose to go inside for that reason. Service was very good and kitchen was quick and accurate!! We will be back even if we have no reason to come to LA live, it’s worth a special trip to LA from OC!!!
Delicious small plates! Great variety. Try the ceviche.
Great downtown location of this SBE chain. Loved the food, and drinks! (Get the Moroccan Margarita!) came with my mom during March madness for some girl time and left having a great experience!
We have eaten at cleo in hollywood near the pantages theatre many times. The food was consistent and very good at this location as well. I know the restaurant chain is owned by SBE and they have quite a few restaurant chains. I only have two complaints. we are social drinkers and that means maybe 2 to 3 drinks a month, maybe. It was on this rare occasion that my hubby and our friend had a drink and we were blown away with the size of the pour of the drinks. The price of the absolute vodka straight up on the rocks was $15.00. The wine was right around 3 ounces. We all remarked about it at the same time. We should have said something. We will be going to another sbe restaurant very soon. We will be watching if any of our group orders a drink, and if it is so small we definitely will report back to the readers of open table and also to the SBE management. All this and we aren't even drinkers. Crazy.
Good grub. Great bread!!! Chicken shawarma too greasy for my liking. All else very tasty! Good before Staples
My absolute favorite Mediterranean restaurant, period. We were at Nolo LA Live to see a concert, so made reservations at Cleo without knowing much about the place. It looks very nice and the staff was smart, quick and accommodating. Then the food started coming out. The best falafel, the best hummus (with fried artichoke hearts), the best roasted cauliflower, and the best halloumi cheese we've EVER had. We've been eating this kind of food for years but had no idea it could be done so well. I don't think we can go back to the Mediterranean places near our home; they just won't compare. I was so blown away that I tracked down the chef and thanked him. He seemed a little stunned, but I think he got the message.
I ordered the roasted Brussels sprouts and lamb sliders. Liked them. I also order a glass of champagne but it wasnt as bubbly as it should.
Khalil was super nice and food is excellent.
Cleo is great their food is amazing and I've been there twice. I ordered the tuna tar tar, lamb kebab and skirt steak and they were all so good. You also must try to crispy artichoke hummus. The place was a little loud and the servings slightly small for the price but overall very good!
Love the food. Great service. Perfect if you’re doing something at LA Live.
