Adjacent to Clement, The Bar offers a bewitching menu of suggested and made-to-order cocktails, a selection of wines and champagnes available by the glass, and small plates echoing the Clement menu with a touch of an Asian influence as a nod to the hotel company’s heritage.
Heirloom Tomato Gazpacho
radish, avocado, yuzu, Ikura roe
One of the best tables in NYC and a well-kept secret.
Tables are well spaced for private conversation. Food is delicious presentation is elegant and service is attentive. Crabcakes are all crab. Lamb chops are succulent Baked Alaska was elegant
Setting was beautiful. Food was amazing. Octopus was just perfection, Lamb was stellar. Had no complaints whatsoever
Food was excellent but service even better
Relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere with attention to every detail
Very nice restaurant for breakfast- quite, discreet, quick and quality
Excellent from beginning to end - the staff is superb and always goes above and beyond, but Marco is exceptional. The food was better than ever - we look forward to returning.
Great ambiance, great food and impeccable service. Noting not to love.
The food was quite good, the seating hostess was charming, the servers were hyper efficient, and the gentleman who appeared at the end of our entrée course [not quite sure who he was, presumably a manager] was exceptionally nice. The waiter, however, was condescending and rushed us to make our food order--though we had said we'd like to have drinks [therefore driving up the cost AND the tip]--on his second attempt to get our food order [before the drinks arrived], he noted they would be busy and strongly encouraged us to order. We felt that we were treated by him as unenlightened tourists [though everyone should be treated with respect], when, in fact, we are locals who chose to use a TravelZoo voucher as an early reservation convenience to try the Clement before taking our subscription seats at the City Center for an Encores! production.
Service was very professional
My wife and mine favorite restaurant for a special night out in the city. Great food, beautiful presentation, and Marco always remembers us and treats us wonderfully.
Went here for Valentine’s day with my wife. Overall very nice dining experience, but a bit pricey.
Wife and I went to the prix fixe Valentines dinner. It was our first visit. Service was a bit sketchy. One guy seemed to know what was going on, but not everyone. No one really explained what was being done, just setting things down and taking off. My steak was great, but my wife's fish was cold to room temp. They took it back to heat it up, but then just the outside was warm and still cold inside. For the price, we were disappointed.
Perfect celebration of our anniversary and Valentine's day
Amazing service with exceptional attention to detail. Marco looked after us like his our family. He made excellent suggestions for our wine choices with each course and each was perfect for the dishes we ate. Everything about the Clement was perfect for us an made a special night even more so. Would highly recommend this restaurant if you are visiting New York.
The food is always exquisite. The wine is always costly. The service is generally impeccable but this last time it was not as good as usual due to a language barrier.
We went for restaurant week for lunch and loved the ambiance, service and food. The soup and ceviche were both very good . My son loved the chicken and I loved my salmon. Presentation was excellent and we felt very comfortable in the large spacious room. A very nice choice in midtown.
We visited this restaurant during the restaurant week. It was our anniversary. I requested window seats but we were seated near window seats. It’s fine. The appetizers were good, except the salad had so much dressings on it, and endives were not that fresh. The chicken was bad and the portion was too small, even considering this is a hotel restaurant, and the worse thing is that the chicken was overcooked and thin. I ordered the salmon, which was okay, nothing so good nothing so bad. The desserts were so much better compared to appetizers and the main dishes, but still it was just okay.
Still, I liked the place as everyone was so nice, and I liked the ambience. We don’t expect to much on $39 dishes, yet if they could improve a little bit, it would be much nicer.
Went for restaurant week lunch. Restaurant is very handsome. Much better than photos. Choice of breads terrific and plentiful. Ceviche appetizer was delicious with unusual accompaniments. The plating was lovely. The main course salmon disappointed. I asked for medium rare and my friend, rare. Both came out well done. We should have but didn’t send it back. We will go back because other than the overcooked salmon it was a lovely experience.
Service was a bit slow
We went to Clement for Restaurant Week lunch. The food was great and the service made us feel very special.
My first time at this restaurant. I enjoyed the food, service and the interior decoration. Perfect for a business lunch as it was not loud. We were lucky to enjoy the restaurant week special deals
This is an absolutely outstanding restaurant. Great food, excellent service, lovely room, quiet, superb location on 5th avenue. What else can you ask for? Yeah, you could ask that it would be cheap, but obviously a restaurant of a world famous 5-star hotel will not be cheap. So go and enjoy!
I attended during Restaurant Week, so it was very reasonable. And when I looked at all the competing options, it was clear that the food offerings at Clement were vastly better than at other places.
Excellent food, and service it has a relaxed ambience in an elegant setting. I highly recommend this restaurant
Food was bad .
We ordered salmon but not fresh and soup also too light .
They using very low quality food materials!
The food was good. The service was excellent. This is perfect for a business lunch
Fabulous on all fronts - ambiance, food, service. Didn't ever imagine ordering Avocado-Tofu-Chocolate dessert but trusted wait staff's strong recommendation. Took a photo of the plated dish to share with friends. Each was green with envy (rightly so!). I will definitely return.
Excellent service; friendly and discreet. I almost always have salmon - and it simply grilled is very good.
Very nice and civilized
Clement is a delightful spot for an elegant lunch!
Great food and great atmosphere- definitely coming back!
Go now. Damn good to amazing!
My friend and I were looking forward to this restaurant for our annual splurge. The menu was pricey, however the food was disappointing because it was not cooked to order, rather, it appears to have been pre-cooked and reheated. As a cook myself, I know when something is cooked to order, and the juices are still sizzling from the food. in the case of both entrees, this was not the case.
Amazing banana and pecan pancakes!!!!
Lunch at Clement with a friend on 12/26/19 was delightful. The moment we entered the Peninsula Hotel we were surrounded by a cheerful, festive atmosphere. The restaurant in this hotel is the perfect setting for an elegant meal, with tables that are nicely spaced, which enables good conversation. The food is excellent in flavor and presentation. The wait staff is attentive and pleasant.
Maybe not for Christmas dinner, I don’t know what the restaurant is normally like for A La Carte. For Christmas dinner there was a seafood and salad buffet and the seafood was lovely. The main was very small but perfectly formed and dessert was another buffet, if not a little underwhelming. It just wasn’t worth $715, not because $715 is a heavy price tag, but because it didn’t ‘wow’ me.
The appetizers and desserts were really good but the main dish was okay.
Service was borderline negligent. Food arrived late and almost cold. Had to ask for everything. Disappointing for the reputation and prices.
We had an awesome time on Christmas Eve. The venue was beautifully decorated, the staff was amazingly nice, friendly and gracious and the food was delicious.
