Service was very good. Menu doesn’t have a ton of variety and sadly, most everything we ordered (meatballs, burgers, fries) was mediocre. The cauliflower was by far our favorite thing - strange for a place called Cleaver - but I suppose it did have chorizo on it! The sauce on the cauliflower was excellent. My burger was dry, the bacon was like pork belly, which I don’t personally enjoy, and just not what I’d expect for a $16 burger. I paid an additional $5 for fries as everything on the menu is ‘a la carte’ and they were fine...kind of like fair fries. I would have liked a mixed drink but they were all $14-16 and I didn’t want to spend that much. Disappointing and expensive overall and we won’t be back.

Great first experience. The owner greeted us and told us about the concept and menu. He also checked on us a few times. We ordered numerous items for the table to share and everything was very good. Cocktails are great too!

First time at the Cleaver and maybe a touch hard to peg, but really did enjoy our evening there. (and yes - will be back!)
If I could rate 4.5 stars, probably would but since cannot - did 4. Main reason is that menu is a touch limited to mainly meats - though there is one salmon dish on the menu. No Chicken at all, which is unusual but did see one mentioned in online menu, so might have it other times. Everything is locally sourced which is nice as well!
Our meals though were really quite good. A couple of us had the Cubano sandwich and would say it was really (really) good and if lived a bit closer, would make that an ongoing take out item! Our friend had the beef sandwich and he said it was really good as well. My wife also had the Braised Green salad and totally enjoyed that. We all had fries - which were great though the house made ketchup, while good, was not great.
Service was spot on and very friendly. As it was a beautiful evening - sat outside which was a plus. All in all and as said at top - will be back!
Thanks for the review Randy. We are a meatcentric restaurant. As far as chicken, I'm so glad you mentioned it. Our chicken (unlike any restaurant you will eat at in Central Ohio) is 100% pastured and moved on pasture every 12 hours. The Butcher & Grocer (where we get our chicken from) orders about 7,000 chickens that are raised from May - October. We had good expectations going in, but none of us were wowed by our drinks or food. The menu was very limited, and only 2 steak options!

Such welcoming staff; their enthusiasm was infectious. The libation and food menus are unique, sophisticated and voluptuous. There was pride in presentation and preparation. Felt like home. Can we bring cake? No problem. No charge. Locavore galore and much from their own gardens. World shaking food with no attitude. Glorious.

Interesting menu but they just try to do too much when keeping it simple works. Cocktail menu has some out of the box options but again, some are just a little much. As a well known locally sourced butcher, you can do a lot of great options because of your meat without having to add all kinds of “fancy” things. They make their own ketchup which isn’t good. It’s like A1 with sugar added. Hard to enjoy the burger or their fries without good ketchup. Service was awesome. They are close to having something special if they pare down their menu and keep it simple. Let the meat shine through.

First time dining at Cleaver. Service was excellent throughout, from seating to exit. We appreciated Tony's visit. The smoked old fashioned was excellent. Burger and Pasta were also very good. We will return!

Really good service! Shout-out to our server Em who did a great job explaining the menu and particular ingredients of note, keeping our drinks filled without us needing to say & word, & being fun & engaging! I got the steak salad & it was really fresh & peppery with the arugula yet mellowed out with the whipped feta that was unexpectedly smooth. Very satisfying as a meal. No dessert for me this time but I hear the house-made ice-cream is killer so I’ll most certainly be back!

Everything is amazing! The portions are perfect, not huge, if you want tons of food this is not the place, but what you get here is plenty! The staff is just amazing, really special place. We will be going again and again.

5 stars for service. The manager (I think her name is Sarah)?) was amazing. She visited all of the tables while we were there to make sure everything was going well. We sat outside but it ended up pouring. After we rushed inside, she quickly rounded up her staff and created seats for all of us. Our server and our buzzer were also very kind. Definitely recommend and will be coming back soon.
This was our first visit to Cleaver. We all enjoyed our meals: steak salad, Cubano, collard greens with ham, and 5-step fries. Our server was very enthusiastic and told us about the business concept, quality ingredients, relationship between the restaurant and the Grocer and Butcher, etc. I wish I could remember her name to give her the credit she deserves. She was a great ambassador for Cleaver. I am sure we will go back.

Cleaver is an all around very good restaurant. The food is excellent, as are the drinks. The wine list was short but well chosen. The staff is very friendly and attentive. It was our first time here and we found it to be very enjoyable.

The best roast beef sandwich I ever had! Piled high tender beef with just the right amount of cheese sauce, I will return for more.

I liked how the menu is rotating but as soon as we sat down we were informed they were out of several things for the evening and it was only 615.
The food was pretty good! I would go back and try something else though! Fries were my favorite!
Sorry we were out of several things. I'm so happy though that we informed you right as soon as you sat down, we go through that during our trainings as our menu does rotate & we do our very best to not throw food away. Hopefully the pretty good food was enough to bring you back. I'd suggest a Wednesday or a Thursday as all of our produce from the farmers we use will be in the restaurant by then. DEFINETELY don't come on a Sunday. That is our Must-Go's Menu and we run out of that every week.
We had a gift certificate to Cleaver and were very excited to try it. No problem getting a reservation on Father's Day which was perfect. I went with my son and husband and we all enjoyed our meals. My husband ordered the special which was a $75 porterhouse offered to us immediately upon being seated. It was good but I am not sure it was worth that price as he commented that he could have eaten two! My son got the burger and wouldn't share a bite because it was THAT good. I had pasta and it was very fresh tasting. We would go back but maybe not jump on the most expensive cut of meat.

I wish I would have known that when we were talking. If he was still hungry, I would have loved to see him polish off another one - I probably would have paid to see that much meat go into one human!!
Fathers Day at Cleaver. Sounds a cool and manly as it actually was. Everyone enjoyed their feast and I loved that they have vhino verde. Pretty uncommon wine to make available but it’s one of my favorites. Great experience and it didn’t break the bank.

We had a table on the patio, so it was very quiet. Inside was a bit more noisy, but not outrageous. Our server was very helpful and never made us feel rushed. The food was spot on for flavor and the serving sizes were satisfying.

The atmosphere and food were both fantastic but what took it to the next level for us was meeting the owner. It was Sunday and the owner sat us, came over several times to check on us, and gave us a firm handshake when we left. The pride that goes into the food and the business is so apparent. We will absolutely return as soon as we can.
