We can remember this resturant 15 years ago when you had to wait 2 hours to eat. Not this time it was like a goast town at 6:30 pm. They had leased a large portion of the old parking lot to Khols for a store. There was 3 resturants on the property at that time. A Steak and Stien and Boat. The Boat had been rebuilt on a different part of the property and Steak and Stien was gone. The prices were on the pricy side. Maybe not for California. The food was just average. Not what it use to be.

We had a great evening from the time we checked in until dinner was over. Service and food was good and would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a special evening and a place where you can throw the peanut shells on the floor.

The menu leaves a lot to be desired. Their costs are more in line with what I would expect to pay at a high end restaurant. Steak was ordered Med Rare....came med well. Rice pilaf is dry and bland. The house made blue cheese and their cheese bread are awesome. WAAAAYYYY too much butter on the baked potato. At the end of the day..no appetizers, 1 soda, 2 entrees. $60 before tip. We won't be back.

Been coming here since it opened and though the location has changed (was in Monrovia back in the 60's) the food and décor haven't. Still great salads, cheese bread and steaks served on wood tables in a giant log cabin. Their house steak sauce is great on the rice and the blackberry sundae provides a great finish. Never had a bad meal here and the servers are fantastic. All in all another great experience.

Our dinning experience was great. The service was good and the food was exceptional. With our 'Open Table' reservations we were taken to our table immediately. I've frequented this restaurant many years it never disappoints.

This place has been a family favorite for years. We celebrated my Mom's birthday there and it was wonderful as usual. Dinged the service a bit because there were stretches waiting for containers and check (waiter apologized and explained the "all my food came up at once"), however this is unusual for North Woods.

We've been eating at North Woods Inn, San Gabriel for decades. The Australian Rock Lobster Tail is simply THE BEST ON THE PLANET! I remember it used to be $34.95- now the price has gone up to $46.95, but it's still worth it. The blue cheese salad, the red cabbage salad, the cheese bread and butter, the barely stuffing, the football- sized baked potato and the rice pilaf were all outstanding. The only thing I noticed was the waiter no longer wraps up the salads and bags the food for you. Puzzled as to why, but our waiter was friendly and professional. We love this San Gabriel Valley institution where you throw the peanut shells on the floor and hope it will remain in business for many decades to come!

Food is outstanding and abundant to say the least - you will leave with a doggie bag. Kids menu is limited but has the usual chicken finger, hot dogs, burger, and petite steak. Great for large groups or a special occasions. Happy hour 2pm-7pm.
