Food was just okay - had to return a couple of items. A lot of fruit flies flying around - manager stated they were aware, as they had just received a delivery.
Service was slow and intermittent.
Chic, hip Miami decor. Live music. Solid jazz trio. Solid wait staff. Unfortunately, the food was simply marginal, e.g., fish overcooked and questionable seasoning.
Service and food were both fantastic!!
Our food and experience was excellent. Mohammed was our waiter. From the moment he greeted us until we said goodbye he was wonderful! The flamenco dancers were amazing! Beautifully decorated!
Wedding Anniversary dinner. Really enjoyed our experience at this restaurant. It’s a grown folks sophisticated atmosphere with great culinary quality food. Saturday had live salsa music and dancers which were wonderful!! The customer service was outstanding. Our waitress Jeyna was was very attentive to our needs. Jeyna was very nice and pleasant and made our dinner awesome. Jeyna took the time and effort to decorate our table for our anniversary dinner which shows she really cares about her level of service. Will defining be going back. Definitely recommend Claudia’s to anyone looking for a great dinner with great atmosphere.
We enjoyed our 1st anniversary celebration by dining at Claudia's last night. I wanted a delicious steak and my wife wanted a good salmon or lamb dish. We were SO pleased with the service we received from Justin and the food was delicious. From the door, we were greeted pleasantly and accommodated with a swanky booth aat our request. We ordered the steak and lamb, which were both really tender and seasoned perfectly! The honey bacon brussel sprouts.... WOW! The mac and cheese was different than we make at home but so cheesy and yummy. Even the plantains that are served with poblano aioli, which you get while you wait for your food were a perfect and light start. Our drinks were strong and tasty. I had the spicy pineapple margarita which was really inventive and good. We will definitely be returning!
One server for the dining room last night. We thought it would be ok since it seemed slow, but painful at best getting his attention. We got our apps before we got our drinks. We had to flag down other people to find him multiple times and didn't even get to send back a twice overcooked steak. Ordered medium rare, but came out medium well. Good happy hour, but horrible dinner experience. Won't be back to eat.
Everything about this spot is outstanding! The ambience is so chic! I love it! The online photos of the decor are what drew me in. I wanted a really nice atmosphere for my birthday dinner. The drinks (Frozen Mojito), appetizers (Lobster toast & Scallops), & dinner (Crabcakes and Honey Glazed Brussels) were all so delicious and flavorful! I definitely recommend Claudia's and I do plan to return... often! I had an amazing first time experience on my birthday!
Food and service was outstanding. It’s DC so it comes with DC prices so don’t be surprised when the bill comes. We had a great time and we would definitely recommend and certainly return!
Had a great time and great food. Enjoyed the flamenco dancers. Big thanks to Julia for getting us a great table and Jayna, our waitress!
I was excited to go, but then very disappointed. I went for steak. The menu listed 3 Cabs by the glass, but they were out of all of them. The manager wouldn't open a bottle of any other cab to serve by the glass. I found it shocking a steak place could not or would not serve a glass of a big Cab with a steak. I ordered seafood instead, as did the rest of the table. It was fine, but there is better seafood at the same high prices (or cheaper) at any number of places in DC. Someone did ask about our meal at the end of the night and tried to make up for our disappointment by kindly offering us a card for a misspelled "complementary" cocktail on our next visit. Claudia's has been open too long to still have this not quite ready for prime time vibe. We won't be back.
The experience was amazing live jazz and perfect lighting. Our waitress Madison was very attentive and polite. The Drunken Ribeye in one word Superb. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a date or just a girls night out.
The Green Ceviche was dry and more of a shrimp salad, and it had a piece of rubber band on it. I got an icee-type drink in a tall, thin glass and they didn't have straws. I had to use a spoon to consume it. The peppercorn sauce tasted like none of the chefs ever try their own food. The mashed potato was absolutely bland and otherwise boring. The fillet mignon and mac n cheese was great though. Their Lava cake wasn't lava-ish at all.
This dinner was suppose to be a celebration for my wife's 38th birthday and we drove down from Baltimore. The look of Claudia's is quite beautiful... I just wished the service matched. During our 2 hour dinner not once was it acknowledged that today was my wife's birthday though I requested it during the reservation. Our table was in a primo location allowing us to enjoy the nights musical performance. Once our waiter / the bartender took our drink orders we didnt see him for about 10-15 minutes. My wife and I also noticed that we had no silverware which took a few more minutes to get. Our appetizer was the Crab Croquettes and they were delicious... they had a little kick of heat to them. For our entrees I got the Negra Modelo Drunken Rib-eye with the honey bacon brussel sprouts and my wife got the scallops. The taste of everything were quite delicious though I asked for chimichurri and never received it. I asked for the carrot cake for dessert to go. When we got home I dont know what they gave us but it was not carrot cake. All in all I believe a 3 out of 5 stars will be the best rating I give only because the food was good and the live music was amazing. The service on the other hand was subpar especially for the price you are paying.
Too energetic for me. Steak and seafood off the grill some of the best. Salad awful.
Exceptional customer service! Loved the chocolate martini!!
Nice really white and pretty restaurant. Went to celebrate my husband's big 50th birthday on Sunday at 7:45pm. I mentioned that in the notes when I made the reservations. Arrived at the restaurant. No acknowledgement, no special....anything. Extremely disappointed in the service and the food. Ordered carne asada. Dry, chewy and did I say dry? The salad was very good. Very disappointed that our occassion was not even acknowledged!
this establishment is excellent across the board... atmosphere, food, customer service - the only negative has nothing to do with the restaurant - DC parking is deplorable!!!
I find it to be super great for happy hour. However, It’s too loud for an intimate dinner. Food and service was outstanding.
It was a special dinner for a good friend and it could not have been better. The thoughtful wait staff to the food being cooked perfectly. Looking for elegant place to take that special one and not break your wallet go to Claudia’s
Beautiful atmosphere. Waiter was very friendly and engaging. Crab soup sample did its job - we both ordered. Beet and wedge salads very nice! Strip steak did not measure up- THIN and a bit gristly. Scallops were very good. Waited WAY too long for ordered cocktails. Dirty plates sat on our table longer than even at a lesser restaurant. I would come back however with cautious optimism.
They were short staffed when we dined but management was amazing about it and our server was great even though he was on the only one on the floor. I can't say enough about how hard the staff worked to serve the guests! And the food was excellent!
Our group was seated within seconds of our arrival. The service was excellent. The food was great along with our drinks. We plan to visit Claudia's on our next visit to Washington, D.C.
Food was delicious
Our server Connor made our night!
The food was outstanding! From the plantation chips to the scallops and salmon to the Brussels sprouts. My girlfriend loved the Brussels sprouts!
Very good. I had the NY strip was delish! The lobster avocado wasn’t good but only because they basically cooked the lobster to death. I think they put it in the oven and left it in there...not a good idea. But overall very good.
The food was amazing, the value was great. The table we sat in was too close to the bar and we couldn’t hear each other talk
Upon entering it was just before 2 pm reservation. Stand up near the hostess area and no one acknowledged my presence. Had to grab someone at bar area to be seated. Food was great but customer service could have been better.
Business Lunch good environment for talking to colleagues.
Obviously, we didn't know that dinner at 6:30 is right in the middle of "happy hour." The noise level was unbearable for me and we were moved to another table. Our server was very upbeat, not intrusive, but new. We decided his winning personality overrode how we felt about the restaurant. The food was okay; nothing stood out and I wouldn't go back as my personal choice. For the price value, I'd rather spend my $$ at Capitol Grille where the service and food is impeccable. It wasn't bad; just not stellar.
Loved the complimentary plantain chips!
NO- we come here at least twice a year, this was an awful experience:
1) ran out of forks so we had to use a spoon? (weird)
2) ran out of vanilla ice cream so dessert lave cake was with a sorbet...
3) steak was chewy, awful. bisque tasted like something else.
very very rushed,
awful do not go
