Had a delicious dinner with girlfriends. Really happy with all the food and freshness. Loved the burnt eggplant, tomato cucumber salad, salmon dish was cooked to perfection a little pink in the middle :D, string beans were delicious too.
Had a nice experience. Great waiter. French inspired. All French wine list. It was too loud for easy conversation.
Claudette is a family favorite to celebrate a special occasion or just a fun night out. (Our "kids" are in their 20s.) The food is just delicious--fresh, beautifully seasoned and presented. Friendly and professional service, from maitre d' to waitstaff. The decor and ambiance are festive, with a lovely nod to Provence.
The overall dining experience was wonderful. This place is comfortable, elegant, yet unpretentious. Seating arrangement makes it more community like yet each table with its own privacy. The wonderful blend of French and Moroccan cooking brings the food experience to another level and become a conversation piece. Staffs are very professional. People are very nice.
We love coming back. This is a little gem at any time of the year. Excellent food, short but great wine list. Great staff. Will be back soon again!
Claudette is a go to dinner place for my young adult daughter and I. We love the truffle hummus and tonight she had the chicken and I the sirloin steak and they were both exceptional.
I came into Claudette after a fairly upsetting morning and was looking to have a meal and breathe. I was greeted at the front door warmly and was allowed to sit early in advance of my reservation. My friend and I were then introduced to our server, Ashley, who provided the best hospitality that I have ever experienced, having worked in the food industry in New York, myself. Ashley was attentive and kind, going out of her way to make sure that my friend and I had an exceptional experience. The food was outstanding. We ordered the burrata salad (unreal) and lamb burgers (delicious). I was then delighted to find that Île Flottante was on the menu, which I haven't seen on a menu since I lived in Paris. Overall the amazing staff at Claudette transformed a terrible morning into a wonderful afternoon, and I am exceedingly grateful.
We're lucky to have Claudette on the corner. We eat there once or twice a month. It's always delicious, the service is always friendly and attentive, the cocktails are excellent, the menu is seasonal, and there's always an interesting mix of neighbors and diners in for a special event.
Menu is small but very interesting. The Lamb tagine (see pic) is to die for and I’m not exaggerating, best I’ve ever had. Solid appetizers options with various Moroccan bites like the burned eggplants or hummus, really tasty, although with that bread every thing would taste delicious. Ambience is super cute and service is OK. Wine list is underwhelming, particularly by the glass you cannot not offer any champagne (I understand there is Cremant but it’s not the same..).
Bench with family - great spot, little kids came too!!
One of my favorite restaurants. Everyone I bring here says the same. Ted is the best waiter ever!
Many dinners. First time we came for brunch. Wonderful as usual.
We were meeting a young friend for a reunion during our visit to New York. We had a selection of appetizers & salads, entrees and desserts, all of which were very good, not spectacular. We wanted to tale our time and visit, lingering over each course. This turned out to be a very good choice, though it got at bit noisy for awhile at the very peak of the dinner crowd.
I chose Claudette to celebrate one of my mother's milestone birthdays with family. Everyone on the staff from the dining room to the kitchen was incredibly friendly and accommodating. Our waiter went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable, relaxed and able to linger. I chose the restaurant for my mother who always seeks out unexpected cuisine and enjoys sophistication without stuffy formality. I'd visited several times and the inventive, perfectly executed Provencal French, North African-influenced dishes have always been excellent. This evening was no exception. My family and, most importantly, my mother loved and was excited by everything that came to the table. Additionally everyone enjoyed the transporting ambience, which balances the warm charm of a Provencal country house and just enough NYC sophistication. I spent a lot of time considering the best match for this special occasion and finished the evening convinced that I couldn't have made a better choice. We look forward to returning soon.
The chicken liver pate and the Bibb salad are to die for. Healthy and delicious.
Always perfect. Thank you Ashley for your wonderful and attentive attention to detail. Wonderful ending to a outstanding trip to the city. Food simply delightful.
I’ve walked past Claudette many times and finally went in for a Saturday lunch/brunch date. The staff was friendly and had honored my reservation request for a table by the window. There are also some sidewalk tables. The food was delicious. The only flaw was that our food came before the drinks we had ordered, but that’s minor. The ambiance is bright, like a country house. They make good use of the space, which is small and cozy but does not feel claustrophobic. The only thing that would prevent me from doing this more regularly would be the price—it’s not overpriced per se, just more than I usually budget for. Worth it for the wonderful time we had. Highly recommend.
This is the first restaurant we went to after we flew into New York. The meal was incredible and very unique. This is a staple and needs to be checked out!
It was a beautiful evening and we were able to sit on the patio. The staff was wonderful and so were the oysters. Perfect night.
Always a fun place . Excellent and dependable
Thanks. Had a delightful time. Excellent food.
As always great food and a charming atmosphere. I invited a friend to join my little family and was so happy that the experience was as good as ever. We always love the Kefta, which is a great share to start. I had the coffee rub pork chop for the first time and may now be my favorite. The service is always good. Just a superb Greenwich Village neighborhood restaurant.
We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Claudette. The service was attentive and, thanks to our server, I enjoyed the best roasted chicken I'd ever had! Everything was delicious - the sweetbreads, roasted beet salad, crispy skin salmon, roasted Sasso chicken, and the rose'! Will definitely return when we are back in NYC.
It was ok, but my colleague and I ordered the same exact item and for some reason she had a much larger portion and better presentation. For the price, I would hope that they can measure portion sizes consistently and present dishes the same way. Very odd and a bit amateur for the prices they charge.
Excellent salmon main course with a pomegranate based sauce. Perfectly cooked. And excellent appetizers as well.
Fabulous experience. Food, service and atmosphere was perfect
Service was way too quick, especially for a Saturday evening. Salad came within 5 minutes of ordering. Not a leisurely meal.
Very well prepared food, excellent ingredients, good wines
Lovely staff. We sat at the bar and we took our time - not rushed at all. Perfect lunch spit!
An excellent neighborhood find! Food was terrific, and the service was attentive and helpful. We have been searching for places with reasonable prices, a nice wine list and expertly prepared, but not fussy food. Claudette satisfied all of the above. We plan to go there often.
Delightful in every way
Everything was wonderful. The food was outstanding - we had the burrata, burnt eggplant, and bibb salad to start, and salmon and a vegetable tagine for mains. Everything was devoured, along with not one but two desserts (madeleines and ile flottant). Service was attentive but a little chilly in demeanor. The setting is super charming, great for a special dinner out or similar. Would definitely recommend.
I took my mom to brunch here on Mother’s Day. Even with all the patrons for the holiday, the service was great. Our waiter was attentive. The food was delicious. The noise level wasn’t too bad considering the large families dining.
I highly recommend Claudette on a special occasion and on a regular day.
Cest bon. That’s French for get over here as soon as you can.
Everything was fine it was just the wine list by the glass and the food menu were very limited
Always amazing food and the service and atmosphere was wonderful!
Beautiful, high quality, affordable food in a great location.
