Warm, friendly, yummy spot in the hustle of Greenwich Village. Attentive service and delicious food. The wine list is small but very good; we selected a Sancerre and a Cote-de-Rhone which were both lovely. Moroccan Lemon Tart was sublime.
Meat was not done as requested, service was impersonal and not attentive.
We have never been disappointed by a meal at Claudette's, be it lunch, brunch or dinner.Staff is friendly, food is delicious, and the room is so pretty.
We are very happy eating at Cluadettte's and at her "older sister's restaurant", Rosemary's.
Outstanding Food, Service, Setting and Timing of the meal.
Cute neighborhood place with great service and reliable French food.
So so so great. Thanks for the awesome food
I love the cozy ambience of this place – a comfortable and relax place to have good food and conversations with friends. I definitely would return to try more dishes. Loved the lamb shank which is amazing, the meat falls off the bone. Loved the burrata dish. The Rose we had was fantastic! Service was very friendly.
The service was the best I’ve ever seen in nyc and I’ve been here for over 6 years! Definitely going back!
We shared a few dishes and every one of them were delicious! The staff was great and attentive to all our needs. If our server would have been similing and a little more caring, i would of been giving a 5 star rating for all categories. We will definately be coming back!
Claudette is a wonderful restaurant to have in the neighborhood. It is both relaxed and tasteful in ambience, with excellent service and delicious food. Earlier on in it’s history I found fewer menu items that appealed to me but these days my problem is choosing which of many things I want to order.
Brunch at Claudette was a lovely experience for all five of us. Wild mushroom omelette was fluffy and fulfilling. French toast was tasty with just the right amount of berries and nuts. It was prepared moist rather than crisp, the way I love them. Noise level was high, but not enough to make conversation strained. Service was impeccable as were the wonderful minty drinks both alcoholic and non- alcoholic. Ambience was cozy yet transporting - giving u a mini vacation to a french moroccan cafe.
Unlike two previous visits, Saturday night at 6 P.M. had many drawbacks. The food on the whole was excellent as usual; the service was harried. I had to ask for a fork for my bouillabaise, some of which was very difficult to manage. I heard every word spoken at the next table, just a few inches away, and my friend and I gave up trying to talk to each other. (We are both Senior Citizens; I am 93.) Better luck next time.
Went for a surprise dinner w my dad. Food was incredible, service even better. Wine, outstanding.
Loved the restaurant.
My favorite for value, quality, service, ambiance! Love
Love love love !! This place! Can’t wait to take my mom and family back! Love the staff here and the food is amazing! 100000% would recommend!
A bit on the expensive side but I thoroughly enjoyed Claudette. While it looks like a country French place with blue and white checkered table cloths on outside tables, the cooking definitely had a north African influence. Our waiter was very good and I actually liked what turned out to be very slow "pacing" as we had late tickets for a jazz show. The dining room is very comfortable and not too noisy and the restaurant makes a nice overall impression.
Just meh. The menu is just fine, but not exciting. Poached eggs were overdone. I think that should be a serious "no no" for a French restaurant. Service was passable, but hard to get attention when needed.
The ambiance was really good - loved the decor and everything about the space! The service was a little slow when it was too crowded but everything was good! Will go back for a special occasion or something along those lines!
Lovely food. Great service. The restaurant was chilly, though, and our food coooled off quickly.
Another great experience. Special foie gras was fantastic! The Sasso chicken and lamb taking were spectacular as always. Service outstanding as well
Attentive service from reception to bus boy to waiter. Good food. A wee bit noisy/echo.
We went for Thanksgiving Dinner. Reservation at 7 but nobody wanted to leave from earlier reservations, so we waited at the bar. The manager and bartender were so friendly and accommodating that we didn’t mind waiting. It helps when you love the people you are dining with. The food was delicious! Service was fantastic! Wish i could remember our servers name, he was perfect!
Everyone there was really nice and place is beautiful! I didn’t love all off the food, but the dessert was pretty good, for the most part!
Generally, I love Claudette and have greatly enjoyed my meals on numerous occasions. But this time, I was quite disappointed, and I brought to of my closest friends who had never dined here before. The selections were slim; the food was fair--a shock, as it has only been fantastic, previously. The fish was not prepared to its usual high quality; the lamb kafka was less than fair.
I don't understand how this happened, even if the menu choices were few due to the holiday week. The quality was simply not up to standard.
I will think twice before returning.
Been here many times. Love this place but last visit made me feel it was in decline. Service was a bit inconsistent and less graceful.
Great service, amazing food. Would 10/10 recommend.
Excellent place for brunch. Has a very European feel (more Mediterranean than Parisian). Food was delicious and the service was excellent. Sat at the bar this past Sunday and the bartender was excellent.
Do make a reservation for brunch, as the place is quite popular.
My second visit to Claudette. Awesome food with a lively crowd. Loved it!
Great night. But our reservation on open table was not recorded, so now I’m being penalized by the site. Annoying.
A wonderful lunch on an unusually cold - and snowy - November afternoon. Every bite was delicious, and our server, Kate, was friendly and attentive. If your main course doesn't come with some of the house fries, order them in the side. Can't wait to go back.
This restaurant is totally overrated - it's mediocre, at best.
Claudette has a warm, intimate atmosphere, great food, and a very friendly, personable and professional wait staff. It is beautifully decorated with attractive lighting, comfortable seating, and a banquette at the back is draped with a warm red striped Moroccan-inspired throw. Many of the dishes are laced with Middle Eastern and North African spices, which gives it a kick. Shishito peppers as an appetizer are wonderfully salty and a crispy kale salad with pear and goat cheese is accented with bits of bacon. The fish dishes on the menu are innovative and delicious. I live in Harlem but look forward to going back since I'm frequently in the neighborhood.
Claudette was a really nice experience. The ambiance is warm, lights and welcoming with decor that encompasses the french/Moroccan theme of the menu. On top of this, my dinner was absolutely delicious. I got the salmon which was perfectly cooked and deliciously served with green sauce, veggies, and walnuts which I found to be a really creative and interesting touch. The tagines are so well seasoned and also taste amazing. My friend and I started with truffle hummus which I definitely recommend. Everything on the menu seemed to have a creative twist on a classic dish. The marriages they create work perfectly. And this seemed to be reflective of the restaurant in its entirety. Thanks for such a pleasant experience.
Delicious melange of spices and exceptional preparation. Waiter very knowledgeable about gluten free
My 2nd visit to Claudette was less joyful than my first. Here's why:
My 1st brunch visit, a friend and I ordered two plates to share: the french toast and the mushroom omelette (both excellent), two coffee, and a plate of madeleines (delicious). The price was reasonable, the portions small but delicious, and the atmosphere cozy, though loud. We like the decor and the vibe. I promised to return. (Wait staff and hostess were all friendly and accommodating.)
On my 2nd brunch, (same friendly service), we ordered two bellinis, 1 cup of coffee, and two steak/frites specials. The bill was $111 before tip. !!!!
We knew the steak/frites special was more expensive ($29 for steak the steak portion was less than 4 oz. The salads were small - very small. I suppose, for that price, we expected the steak portion to be more generous or we wouldn't have ordered it. $29 for the entree special was already a lot but a $5 surcharge for a salad substitution is extortionate.
That said, the food is delicious. Steak and eggs were seasoned and cooked to perfection. But I can't justify $111 brunch for brunch for 2 people!
This is our 4th visit over the last two years and the menu hasn’t changed. They need to switch it up a bit. Food is very good
Tables close and high noise level. Lamb Shank was very good. Drinks $$
Wonderful, creative food. Flavors that pop with lovely vibe that is about unique spicing from North Africa mixed with French cuisine. Unpretentious but excellent and good value. Loved it!
We come here whenever we are in town and each time it somehow gets better and better!
