Delicious melange of spices and exceptional preparation. Waiter very knowledgeable about gluten free
My 2nd visit to Claudette was less joyful than my first. Here's why:
My 1st brunch visit, a friend and I ordered two plates to share: the french toast and the mushroom omelette (both excellent), two coffee, and a plate of madeleines (delicious). The price was reasonable, the portions small but delicious, and the atmosphere cozy, though loud. We like the decor and the vibe. I promised to return. (Wait staff and hostess were all friendly and accommodating.)
On my 2nd brunch, (same friendly service), we ordered two bellinis, 1 cup of coffee, and two steak/frites specials. The bill was $111 before tip. !!!!
We knew the steak/frites special was more expensive ($29 for steak the steak portion was less than 4 oz. The salads were small - very small. I suppose, for that price, we expected the steak portion to be more generous or we wouldn't have ordered it. $29 for the entree special was already a lot but a $5 surcharge for a salad substitution is extortionate.
That said, the food is delicious. Steak and eggs were seasoned and cooked to perfection. But I can't justify $111 brunch for brunch for 2 people!
This is our 4th visit over the last two years and the menu hasn’t changed. They need to switch it up a bit. Food is very good
Wonderful, creative food. Flavors that pop with lovely vibe that is about unique spicing from North Africa mixed with French cuisine. Unpretentious but excellent and good value. Loved it!
We come here whenever we are in town and each time it somehow gets better and better!
Food was ok but despite a booking we have to wait a little on the bar : no seats and very busy and noisy place on last Sunday.
À little disappointing on the brunch menu options. In summary it was good but not my best brunch.
One of my favorite places that makes me feel special and people around me: because its natural, tasty and original menu, outstanding service and ambience❤️
Claudette is charming for a weekend brunch. Two caveats: Not many choices for gluten free eaters & the noise level became too high as it filled up.
I am inclined toward any bistro/brasserie atmosphere, ambiance and food. Love to pretend that I'm in the South of France. Claudette is charming, a simple gem with sustainable and local food. Adequate, but nice wine list. Very accommodating servers and greeters. Easy to get cabs after dinner and all in all a lovely evening.
False French restaurant.
The waiter did not know about wine list. In menu was write Aix en Provence wine but the bottle was Les Beaux de Provence and when we ask if it was the correct wine he didn’t know...
The salad was poor, all cooked with spicy condiments, harissa... even the dessert!! Nothing to do with typical French cuisine. The only nice is the deco. Poor in all aspects and expensive.
Claudette is our go-to Village restaurant. The lamb and French fries are especially notable. Even their simple green salad is a knock out. Very pleasant light room.
Feed was excellent, but ambiance and service were outstanding! Serves were really engaged and nice, and provide in recommending good combination of dishes. Definitely coming back!
I have extensive food allergies and the chef was wonderful. My dishes tasted like they were not missing a thing. My20's daughter said it was hands down the best meal she has ever had, lamb tagine. She is still enjoying the leftovers. Asked a friend to pick a spot for lunch in a few days and LOL she picked Claudette's. No complaints here it is worth a second trip in the same week.
Restaurant and service were both incredible. Would recommend 100%
Great brunch food, especially love the burrata and shashuka. My husband didn’t not love the food, decor,or price . The interior seems Alittle girlie . Tip, dip the French fries in shashuka sauce . Will return , but with girlfriends .
We were celebrating a friends engagement and could not have had a more incredible time! Our server Guillaume was so thoughtful and considerate, let us take our time ordering and enjoying each other’s company. On top of that, the food was exceptional, and the champagne was delicious. Will definitely be back.
The lamb tajine was outstanding, they also have great specials daily and our server was very attentive and friendly
This was my second visit to Claudette and the food, service, and overall experience have been consistently wonderful. It's a very comfortable atmosphere, and all the staff are friendly and helpful. I can't wait to go back!
Very busy when we arrived ... tho we had a reservation and were on time we were left at bar and had to keep reminding them... took an hour to be seated... got much quieter later... recommend going late?
Went with a large group. Everyone loved their dinner and the waitperson was very helpful in coordinating our order.
Such a charming, lovely restaurant that manages to be friendly, casual and elegant at the same time. I wish i could give 5 stars as most of the food is perfect as were drinks and service. However, my chicken entree was slightly overcooked and the accompanying veg needed seasoning. Our dessert needed a tad more sugar too.
After excellent starters, the rest of the meal was a disappointment- the chicken came out with a burned to black skin and dried meat underneath.
Black burned skin suggests forgotten in oven and no quality control for product - should never have left the kitchen.
We want this restaurant to succeed but increasingly just not very good to not again remarks in the neighborhood.
We loved Claudette. Every dish we tried was interesting and outstanding. Our waiter was fantastic. Even though we arrived a little late for our reservation, the staff went out of their way to accommodate us and make it a special night. We’ll be back!
I've been going regularly to Claudette since the week it opened, often for very special occasions, and it has never let me down. I love this place. The food is always inventive and excellent.
My only quibble is that I do wish they could offer some more modestly priced wines.
Upcoming baby arrival
One of the best restaurants in New York City. Food absolutely amazing.
Menu is fabulous. Our waiter was incredible.
This was one of the best brunch places I’ve been to in the city. The servers were so friendly and kind - they say you go to the restaurant for the food and come back for the service. This was definitely one of those restaurants. I got the salmon roe and egg scramble and it was delicious. The atmosphere at this restaurant was also super cute and lively.
Wow. As always, the food was delicious. I love that the menu changes as frequently as it does. That gives the opportunity to try more and different creative and delicious dishes. Service is always excellent. The cocktails are creative, and the wine list has interesting options with reasonably priced alternatives. We will be back soon.
What a place and find right in the heart of the Village. Excellent service, menu and ambiance... the noise level was a bit much, but for a brunch that just added to the energy. Fun place and worth checking out!
Lamb was un-chewable. Salmon was extremely dry. Seating and ambiance are good.
Had a small dinner party of six for my birthday. We were seated immediately and the service was very good. We ordered a variety of things which were all good such as the lamb and vegetarian tangines, the salmon, and the whole fish but I can’t remember the name. The carrots harissa appetizer was delicious!
Excellent service and food! second Friday in a row.
Price: a little expensive
Restrooms: very dissapointing
We had a very nice Thursday night dinner at Claudette. The food was delicious. The service was great. The atmosphere was warm and cozy. Good value. I would certainly return.
We had a fantastic time. The food was spectacular and the atmosphere was amazing!
Claudette is a never-disappoint lunch spot. Always good food, service is attentive and the environment is warm.
We arrived late in the evening with 7 people. Staff were very gracious and food and drink were both excellent. Lots of Moroccan/N. African influences - harissa, za'atar, tagines, etc. - which made the food memorable. Vegetables are wonderful. Desserts also didn't fail to impress (flourless chocolate - smooth as satin). Nice wine list.
Lovely staff - so friendly and excellent ambiance! Perfect for catching up
Chose Claudette to entertain out of town relatives, one of whom is a vegetarian. All of us where happy with our menu choices.
First of all, the food here is delicious and I enjoyed everything from the appetizer to my entrees. However, I had to wait for 45 minutes for my table even though I made a reservation. Also, I was craving for bouillabaisse and found the item on their menu online. However, the actual menu online is different from the menu they have in store, so this item wasn’t there when I got there. I feel misled and a bit misguided for my dining experience.
