   As a huge oysters and seafood fan, I was ecstatic about Clark’s coming to town. Must say I was quite disappointed. The oysters were certainly good but that’s about it. Everything else from how we were greeted, to service, to the food was just ok. Not bad but not great either. I’ll go back for happy hour for the oysters and maybe the martini. Not sure if it’s worth it for a meal.

   Potatoes in the clam chowder soup were not cooked thoroughly. One little morsel of clam was in the clam chowder. Otherwise wouldn’t be able to tell it was clam chowder. Nobody came by to refill our water. We ordered a Coke that was filled with almost all ice and no Coke. Had to order a second one for which we were charged. When we were having lunch, there was an Awful fishy odor, indicating not so fresh fish, which spoiled our appetite. One little morsel of clam was in the clam chowder. Otherwise wouldn’t be able to tell it was clam chowder.

   Fabulous food and service. We went for a friends birthday and they brought out a celebratory glass of champagne which was very thoughtful. So happy they are in Menlo Park!

   I have been to Clarks twice now for lunch and both times were great! The food is excellent, delicious fresh sour dough to start with and the ambience is very nice. I like the booths and outdoor seating. We had the burger, clams and lobster roll all delicious and fresh shoestring fries with garlic and rosemary. Don’t skip dessert!

   Overall a very promising start for downtown Menlo Park’s biggest new restaurant opening in several years (since Camper!). Oysters and crudo starters were excellent and hot dishes were quite tasty (although some with a touch too much added salt like many restaurants). We will definitely return.

   Awesome new spot in downtown Menlo Park. Really, really good oysters from both the west and east coasts; we loved all four varieties we tried today so including Black Magic, Pink Moon, Kusshi, and St. Simon. Lobster rolls and fries were as good as folks say from their Austin branch! Don't forget to save room for their desserts!
