Clark's Oyster Bar
Classic coastal cooking from the Texas Gulf to the Northeastern Seaboard will influence Clark's menu. A large portion of the concept is devoted to the Oyster, Cold Bar, Seafood, & Caviar. We procure the freshest oysters from small harvesters around North America and serve cold seafood platters featuring super fresh daily specials.
Mache & Frisee Salad, Pickled Shallots, Hollandaise
Great food and service, we really enjoyed ourselves! We will definitely come back.
Awesome as always.
Wonderful experience, especially given the circumstances.
My birthday tradition is oysters and champagne. It was great to celebrate with dinner at clark’s, first time out of quarantine.. we so enjoyed our socially distanced table in the parking lot! 😂 honestly such a fun, delicious evening! Will always remember turning 32:) clark’s you’re my fave! See you again soon. Recommend the unfiltered Prosecco, that was new to me and delightful!
This was an absolute amazing experience! Food and service were on point!
Exceptional service with mindful cleanliness and respectful spacing
We had a wonderful anniversary and birthday celebration. The staff did a fabulous job in making us feel very safe.
Food great! Service great! Masks while walking to table completely stupid!!!! Laughed out loud while I was forced to wear flimsy mask for 5 seconds while I walked to the table. Don’t think I’ll go back soon.
Food was great and the ambiance excellent!
Consistently great quality and value. Outside sitting is great these days.
So happy to enjoy a meal outside of the house! Thanks Clarks for a delicious Mother's Day Brunch!
Great meal! Glad you are back open!
It was my son’s birthday, and though the hostess wished him a happy birthday, the server was oblivious. The orders were incorrect, and we waited on her multiple times for what seemed like an eternity. Twice I asked someone to get her. Once she was polishing silverware, making us wait when we were ready to pay the check. The food was good, but not great. It’s not a place we will visit again.
Best oysters I’ve ever had. The Branzino was out of this world!
Scott and Joel are two AMAZING servers... always a top-notch experience at Clark's. We come here for every special life event... and sometimes just because we want the best oysters and meal in town 😉
The location on West 6th downtown is charming, the restaurant decor has a nice vibe and there was a happy and lively atmosphere with a good playlist to mask the demolition of a commercial building across the street. The latter is a one off, but never forget Austin is an evolving city so always something going on.
The food choices were very strong. The oyster bar was well stocked with a nice variety, the accompanying condiments were fresh and tasty. We shared several dishes including ceviche (red snapper), grilled octopus and an excellent endive salad. The string fries were so light they felt almost healthy. The wine list was pretty varied and prices not so steep for inner city dining. We were allowed plenty of time to enjoy our food, but on more than one occasion staff forgot orders and to refresh plates. There may be an explanation as society adjusts with this virus upon us, but we dined out to support our local restaurant trade and ultimately those who likely are at high economic risk. Whatever, you do in life try to stay focussed, we are all confronting the same risks and until there is a curfew we will continue to participate in our community, responsibly.
So we will return, but hope there is a time when the staff can reengage with its clientele!
Always a joy dining at Clark’s. Even when dining alone in the middle of a somewhat chaotic time.
Great lunch spot with personable service and amazing food!
Said i had to reserve outside. Didn’t see that as an option on open table.
Great food and great service! Highly recommend the lobster roll and crab mac & cheese. Worth the prices!
Best restaurant in Austin.
Great meal as always!
The scallops were perfect as was the steak tartare appetizer.
As always, the food and service at Clark's were extraordinary. This is one of our favorite spots in the city and the Cioppino is absolutely the VERY BEST RESTAURANT DISH in Austin, TX. The servers are always friendly and knowledgeable, even the bussers do a great job, making hard jobs appear effortless.
Varied predominantly seafood menu
From start to finish it is first class
One of Austin’s best
Will always return
Good drinks and raw bar as well
took forever to get our tab, but the food and drinks were very good
Brunch with old friends. We had a blast. Oysters were amazing. Fantastic hamburger. Lobster roll was good but pricy.
It would be better to have a few more choices for Sauvignon blanc by the glass to be less expensive———-it’s like a buying a whole bottle for that price. The only one you had was redic price
Its always great, we love Clarks
We go to Clark's for Oysters but a lot of their stuff has become our favorite. We tend to just take a tour of oysters, we each get one of each. Mostly East Coast which is our preferred, some West Coast which are also very good. Haven't seen a ton of Gulf but we're fine with that. We can usually fill up on just oysters, but their shoestring fries are amazing. Clam chowder is amazing and has the teeniest kick to it, also the wedge salad is outstanding. Took a star off for ambiance because a couple next to us insisted on taking many many photos and did not know how to take low-light photos so that meant about 25 flashes throughout the course of the meal. They even had phones with the 3 cameras on them! One would think they could figure that out. I digress. Go here! Great oysters, even better cocktails, bar seating is just as fun (if not more) than table service.
Clark’s has never been anything but stellar! Time and time again it’s still Austin’s Best!
Clark's is my favorite place and every time I eat there, it is a joy. Plan ahead, or try to walk up and sit in the public table.
Amazing dining experience. Loved the oysters, lobster roll, Brussels and more!
Always a great experience at Clark’s. Consistently great food and service. Oysters are shockingly good for Texas.
We always enjoy Clark's. Consistent, elegant, delish! Must try the lobster Mac N Cheese!
Overall a good experience, the music level is inappropriate for conversation. We had the crabcakes, scallops, Oban 14, grits and brussel sprouts along with a dozen osyters. All were fine, there was a small snafu with my chowder, however it was handled tastefully and quickly resolved! My on real complaint, aside from the too loud music is the cold bread! When a meal for 2 can get to within a hair of $200, cold bread is out of place, this should be reconsidered. Definitely recommend.
Food was great! So was the service. Very enjoyable!
Excellent mostly seafood oriented
Very good quality
Always a joy and a foodie haven
The food was wonderful, I'm not an oyster fan but I definitely am now after my first experience here! My fiance loves oysters and said these were some of the best he's had. The red fish ceviche was fresh and very flavorful. The brussel sprouts were extremely tasty and the sauce on them complemented all our other dishes. Definitely give Clark's a try if you are looking to expand your palette. However, be prepared to pay a little more but the experience is worth it if you are a foodie!
Clark’s is a small, intimate Resturant on West 6 th Street. It has a small set of tables and a separate section for eating at the bar. It has a wide selection of raw seafood, roasted oysters, salads and cooked seafood. I had the grilled Bronzino and my wife the pan seared scallops. Bothe were cooked to perfection. We shared a bowl of perfectly cooked grits. With a nice bottle of Sancerre and tip the tote cost was $170.
