Clark's Oyster Bar
Classic coastal cooking from the Texas Gulf to the Northeastern Seaboard will influence Clark's menu. A large portion of the concept is devoted to the Oyster, Cold Bar, Seafood, & Caviar. We procure the freshest oysters from small harvesters around North America and serve cold seafood platters featuring super fresh daily specials.
What Insiders Are Saying
Excellent seafood in an Instagram-ready environment. The only catch is you'll have to pay mightily for it.
Scott was great. They need more tables. Wonderful food.
Outstanding oysters with a large selection. Beyond that, the quality drops significantly for the other seafood dishes and sides we ordered. Definitely overpriced for what you get. Very loud, ambiance is that of a small truckstop diner trying to be fancy. Service was okay, but not up to what should be expected at their prices. Recommend if you want oysters, beyond that go elsewhere.
Clark’s food never disappoints and the service is always excellent.
Great happy hour! One of the best in Austin. Amazing food and the ambiance is really nice. Make reservations in advance.
Lovely oyster selection. Tasty hamburger. The lobster roll looked delicious but my companion would not sure.
One of my favorite restaurants in Austin- consistently delicious!
The food was great but our service was terrible. From the moment we got there our waitress was very unkind. It was my friends birthday and we told her and she goes “ok” and didn’t acknowledge it again. Our friends ordered a bottle to the table that they prepaid for and our waitress didn’t bring it to the table because she thought we were under 21 without checking our ids. The food was great but service was terrible. Makes it hard to want to go back.
We were excited to be able to bring a couple of good friends who had never been to Clark’s there for dinner on a recent Sunday. Unfortunately, the dinner was a big disappointment. We had highly recommended the lobster roll to our friends but when the server finally came to get our food order—the service was extremely slow with huge time lapses during our entire visit—and only after we started placing our order— she told us they were “out of lobster rolls” as well as out of several other menu items. Not sure why that would happen but we should have been told up front, before we had drinks, so we could have gone somewhere else. I ended up ordering the Crab Louis salad, which I have had there before, but it was extremely salty and not up to par. I’ll likely go back for lunch but doubt I’ll ever go back for dinner, at least not on a Sunday.
Always a great time! Never change! Been coming here for a few years now. Thank you
Great service, impeccable food! We were seated right away and indoor. Only complaint is there were a few annoying flies buzzing around but overall the experience was outstanding.
Vibrant atmosphere and friendly staff. Great place to meet up with friends, family and co-workers.
Honestly really great. Classy but not showy. Great food for reasonable prices. We had to wait a little long past our reservation, but the restaurant rectified the issues.
Server wasn’t very friendly. Please teach your waitstaff to smile!! 😀
Our server appeared to be new and didn’t know about several items on the menu, but otherwise we had a great experience!
The red trout was incredible, everything else was just OK for the price. The lobster mac and cheese was disappointing. Great ambiance inside and the hostess was wonderful!
Great experience as always. Clarks never disappoints me.
The food is good. Very small, so make a reservation. Service was a bit slow.
Always amazing food. Service was spotty but they recognized it themselves and more than made up for it. Best seafood in Austin as far as I’m concerned and a terrific location and vibe.
Food was amazing. Service was lacking. Not friendly, did not want to offer suggestions. The lack of southern hospitality is something we missed!
Great food great service but $$$$ worth it maybe fries maybe worth it
Great service and food. We were visiting Austin for a graduation and picked this restaurant through the reviews on Open Table. We weren’t disappointed. When we return to the area this restaurant will be on the list to revisit.
My wife and I had a great experience. The restaurant is small and cozy. It was a nice break from the busier areas of Austin. We ordered the large seafood tower, which was a great value for everything that you receive. The highlight was definitely the beef tartar which we always look to try in every city we go to. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Austin. Cheers!
Everything we had was delicious and it was such a nice atmosphere. Only disappointment was the service. Although she was very nice and informative when it comes to the menu, she didn’t course the dinner out which she didn’t think was “the game plan” and dropped the check before asking about desert or checking if we finished the bottle of wine. Probably needs a little refresher on service for a place like Clark’s. Thanks!
Fantastic oysters I just thought they were overpriced.
I didn't like my Mexican Martini though it was terrible. My burger took half an hour to get there. My lady thought the drinks options were kind of funky. I'll definitely go back though. The oysters were great.
we showed up with a nine month old baby and they were very accommodating in that aspect.
Good for cocktails and appetizers. Entrees were disappointing especially at the extremely high price
Awesome Service! Adair was tremendously attentive!
Great food and service as always.
2nd time there. Food is always excellent, as are the cocktails. Wife loves their cioppino, I’ve never had it. Very good raw oyster selection from northeast and northwest. Only downside was we had full view of a “show” in front of us - some 50-60 year old guy and his 25 year old girlfriend involved in a 2 hour make out session on the patio right in front of us (maybe they were on moly or she was charging by the minute?). Geez next time get a room.
Great food, but acoustics are terrible. Hate the banquette seating, but it's geared toward millienals (sp?) and the poseurs. Would go back, but it will be a long time.
Service and server were outstanding.
Great place ,great service, great food,we shall return
The hostess managed to find us a table at the patio. Our first visit and food were amazing.
Team happy hour!
Clark’s never disappoints. It’s one of our favorite spots for our monthly ladies lunch.
First time to Clark's and had a very good meal. Oysters and crab were very fresh and well presented, as were the salads. We had linguine and clams and a burger (felt kind of conflicted ordering beef at seafood place, but had heard a lot about it). Both were excellent. Service took a bit of time to get to us at first, but was very good after that. We were surprised at how few tables there were inside so it is a bit crowded if you don't eat outside, but it was fine. It is pricey but given the quality of the ingredients, it's clear where the money goes. Will definitely return
Clarks Rocks. This is one of our 'go to' places in Austin when we want a great meal in a casual, Austin cool environment. Note, Clarks is a small restaurant so make a reservation. Outside is nice but can get a bit warm in the summer. The food is always perfect from the oysters to the hamburger and everything in between. Their wine list is good and bar servers some great cocktails. Martini's are $5 during happy hour - dont miss this:-)
Great food, lovely wine list. Highly recommended.
Food was great, ambiance was great, service was great. A little pricey but worth it.
Vacationing from NY
Fantastic as always. Best seafood in Austin, best Cioppino anywhere!!
Love clarks. Our absolute favorite place to go in Austin. Small and quaint. Fabulous setting. Great food. The BEST oysters!!
