Davey was fabulous! Our brunch was outstanding and the food was excellent. Will definitely be back!
Very inventive dishes, asparagus grilled cheese was a pleasant surprise, chicken and waffles was scrumptious. A bit on the pricier side for brunch, but enjoyed the flavors and the intimate setting.
Casual date night. Great atmosphere, amazing food and service. The menu was interesting and the energy of the restaurant and street are great!
I went for the Happy Hour on Thursday and sat at the bar with a friend. There weren't many people in there for Happy Hour so the Bartender was able to give us a lot of attention. The baked oysters were good and only $2. I was expecting it to be char-grilled like the ones in New Orleans but they weren't. Still pretty yummy though.
Great spot, we were looking for a place we had not been before. Fantastic food and beverage!
Clancey is my "go to" bar. Amazing and unique drinks. I can never decide what to get!!! The Moscow mule literally calls me in my dreams. I love the bacon wrapped treats and the lettuce wedge. Large and open, it always feels welcoming.
The food was great, and the price was very reasonable. I would come back here any weekend.
What a cool place to come for dinner. We shared the yesterday's lo mein - pork belly was incredible and crispy; the steak entree, and the fish tacos. Atmosphere was energetic and fun. Server, while someone called out so it was just her on the floor, was charismatic, upbeat, and attentive. Service was a bit scattered and our steak was overcooked, but it really didn't damper our time there. They sent us a new steak, and we were occupied by the other food we had. Overall I'd absolutely go back, and really enjoyed the meal there!
We chose Clancey for our Valentine's dinner because we liked the menu options, especially some of the low-country fare. The oyster appetizer was one of the items that sealed the deal in our decision. We were disappointed to discover when we arrived that they had no oysters that night. But the server and chef more than made up for it, giving us several small plates of other delicious items to sample. The "something wrapped in bacon" on skewers was delicious. The shrimp and grits was as good as anything we've eaten in Charleston, and possibly better. All told, we would go there again in a heartbeat for a quality dining experience.
It’s a casual place but the food is very solid. Fun spot for a small group dinner
Food was delicious as always but a tad bit overpriced. Service was a bit slow but understood bc place was packed.
Nice time early dinner NYE. I would come back! The manager was very accomodating and fun and the food and timing was great!
Great food and cocktails. I’ll be trying this place again!
Food was great! They had limited staff so the service was poor, however, they were doing their best.
Great food and service. Amazing plus that Clancey takes brunch reservations
Always good place to go for all occasions.
Very good Bloody Mary, outstanding chicken and very nice oysters. It was a shame that the orders took so long to come, however, the quality of the food made the wait worth it.
Just fab! Really good food. Fun cocktails. Terrific service. Great value!
Pleasantly surprised by the food. Friendly service. Would go back.
Yesterday lo mein with pork belly is a must have!
Food was good but service was a lackluster.
We came for brunch with a party for 8 and the servers seem annoyed that we are there. Then when our food came, they missed my friend's... she ordered the same thing I did. After a long while, the server came back and said they ran out of asparagus. How they didn't know they were low in asparagus, I don't know.
They did take my friend's meal off the bill so that was nice of them.
Overall, I would say Clancey is a fun place for brunch but maybe not for a big group.
Zach is a terrific, attentive and most courteous host/server!
Always great food. Interesting drinks. Friendly people.
Amazing food, excellent drinks (the frozen Moscow mule) and superb service. The staff is terrific.
Came here for brunch Sunday wasn’t crowded
Small hole in the wall someone would normally pass by. There were only 5or 6 tables in total inside and the ones by the window where we sat were so close together.
No other complaints ...
I ordered the French toast chicken challa (amazing) and my boyfriend had the steak and eggs which came in a tray (fairly large portion)
The wake up call coffee was sooo good
The chicken & French challah is life-changing, although there's nothing on the menu I don't like. I also recommend the chicken satay and the crazy fresh avocado toast.
The frozen Moscow mules will knock you out of your seat but are also refreshing, year round. The bartenders are great at coming up with custom drinks for you, too.
The colorful art & overall put-together look will compel you to take selfies & group shots.
But the reason I'm a regular is the staff: friendly, happy to see you, and great at conversation when you want to chat.
Bring your friends, family, and self for brunch or whenever. You won't find a better spot on the LES.
Good food and a great menu but the service could have been a little better!
Great ambiance, excellent food (brunch or dinner!) and the best service you could ask for! HIGHLY recommended!
The bartenders/servers were so nice! Thank you!
A fun and inventive food menu matched with a witty selection of craft cocktails, the Clancey has just enough character and LES grit to get Stefon's approval. The staff are warm and helpful and always seem to know when you're about to need another drink or a fourth order of those maple french toast fingers. For a life-changing experience, order the pie.
The food was excellent, the server and bartender were polite, friendly, and extremely helpful!
Too loud! The service was annoying, the waiter/waitress kept coming even I was eating asking if we need a check. The food was nothing special, very disappointed.
Clancy is good, not spectacular. I think it’s still getting it’s legs underneath it, so it has promise.
Off the bat, cocktails were the highlight of the night. Interesting and relatively well priced.
Service was friendly. Thumbs up.
Ambiance: when we arrived at 8pm on Friday the restaurant was empty besides a couple of tables. We were sat directly next to other diners, despite there being plenty of other areas available to allow for everyone to have more personal dining space. This continued as more people came. My assumption is it was to fill the front window to entice more people in, but it just made for a slightly uncomfortable dining experience as the tables are close together.
The food altogether was decent. We had Yesterday’s Lo Mein (good, nothing spectacular, and prob too but of a portion for a starter), the Chicken and Challah (all a little over cooked but still yummy) and a side of the daily vegetable, which was baby bok choy - it’s bok choy, more checking a “healthy” box than anything.
Only complaint is the coursing was all off. The veggie came with the lo mein instead of the entree. Then the chicken arrived before we were done with the lo mein/veg which made for an awkward situation in that a) would have rather taken a breath between courses and b) there was no space on the table for more food.
We cancelled at our first choice when they informed us their roof-top was closed for a private party and the available table was in an extremely noisy room with a novice singer - so Clancey seemed a good choice because it was quiet - perhaps too quiet, since that quiet was because of the few other patrons.
The beer was good - the Bourbon was fine - even if $19 is a little high for a shot of Baker's - and the ketchup and mustard were great - but that's all we can say on the positive side (except the waiter was personable).
The smoked oysters were pretty tasteless; the double hamburger had a strange consistency and the fish tacos seemed to have almost no fish and no flavor. And the dinner was not particularly cheap. So, no we won't be going back to Clancey any time soon.
Was impressed with everything about this place. Food couldn’t have been better and was shocked because it was the one place that wasn’t booked on Mother’s Day but could’ve been the best option.
Went for Mother's day Brunch so we didn't expect great service but it was really good. Cool place with cool drinks. The food was just OK and had the feel of unhealthiness! I was disappointed with the lackluster fried chicken and waffles. The waffle was great but the chicken was just OK. Everybody else liked the their egg based meals. Very good drinks.
Great Sunday brunch place! The staff accommodated our large group which included toddlers! Food was delicious!
Young and vibrant with really interesting variations on just about any dish. Nice sized drinks. Hope it sticks around. Could easily be the go to place when nothing else is quite right
