The greeting at the door is most gracious--as is all of the service. Take your choice of a table, booth or sit at the bar with a close-up view of the masters at work. The decor is smart and simple. If you arrived casual or dressed for the evening, you'd be more than comfortable. The music is eclectic, lively and interesting to music lovers, but not in the least imposing on an intimate evening.

The creative and fine cuisine is served in small portions, which allows you to try a few dishes. Hence, the value is excellent. Everything is prepared with such attention to every detail. Some ingredients take weeks for completion--as was the case with the exquisite, blacken leek that garnished the burrata (Italian fresh mozzarella mixture).

This was my first opportunity to try pure, grated truffle, as it garnished the homemade fettuccine before you blended it with the freshly grated parmesan and marrow from the open face bone. Mixing in half the marrow was rich enough for my taste. The balance I spread on homemade nan, at my son's recommendation.

Much of the cooking uses the technique sous vide. Though a painfully long process, you enjoy results that are impossible to achieve any other way. Some of the dishes may be quite rich; but also, there are aspects that are refreshingly light. The fish is done to perfection and some sauces that seem quite creamy are actually purées of different vegetables, such as squash, etc.

It was truly a memorable evening. There's time between the serving of the dishes. The menu suggests you can choose 3 dishes; so we chose 3 each. These were so satisfying, I could not even entertain dessert--as tempting as it was. Still, my wife enjoyed her hibiscus cocktail (virgin) and my coffee was remarkable!

If you are a food lover and somewhat adventurous, treat yourself; you'll not regret it.

Le service était un peu lent. La nourriture excellente. Le personnel très sympathique. La musique un peu trop fort même si nous avions demandé de réduire le volume

Une cuisine raffinée et inventive. Clairon offre une excellente table, un ajout apprécié à l’offre de restaurants du quartier. Seul petit bémol, l’aménagement de la porte d’entrée n’aide pas beaucoup à conserver l’ambiance chaleureuse des lieux! Prévoir une petite laine. Sinon une deuxième visite concluante.

Although impressed with the use of seasonal Quebecois ingredients, did not enjoy the tapas-style menu, given that the portions were very small. The tapas style, although encouraging sharing and allowing everyone to try everything, means that each person only gets about one or two mouthfuls of each dish, and by the end, you don't know what you've really eaten. If the set price is the objective (prices were 3 plates for $50), then a table d'hôte option would have been better, with bigger portions. Pros: nice atmosphere, location across from a park with large windows, and friendly staff, use of local ingredients. Cons: tapas-style menu.

The food was very good. There were not very many vegetarian options, and the kitchen was not open to creating any dishes without meat other than what was on the menu. The ambiance was a little cold, the people at the table beside us were friends with the hostess and got much better service than us. But like I said, very good food. But I've had better ambiance!

Everything we ordered at Clairon’s was « délicieux ». We enjoyed the friendly and competent service. Those people are passionate about every aspect of their work, or should I say, profession. Bravo!

Nous y sommes allé en famille, un bon choix de menu qui a demandé de la recherche . C’est présenté avec finesse . Le service est impeccable . Bravo à l’équipe.

Service fût lent et plusieurs plats sur la carte n’étaient plus disponibles. Cher pour ce qui est offert.

J’ai adoré le plat de pieuvre, le mix pomme de terre et confiture de chorizo était parfait! Le plat d’arrivage qui était du doré avec sauce au safran et topinambour était tout simplement delicieux!! J’ai bu de l’excellent vin québécois. J’y retournerai assurément!

The format - small dishes - is fun and creative. The flavours and textures were fantastic. When we visited, it was -21 degrees outside and the restaurant was not well insulated against the cold. We were uncomfortably cold at our table, and our dishes were cooling off way too quickly as well. That detracted from what was otherwise and wonderful experience.

Toujours sympa de découvrir un nouveau resto, surtout quand il est dans son quartier. Carte alléchante, cuisine créative, parfois délicieuse (maïs), parfois moins bien (chou). Beaux produits québécois, service très sympathique, belle ambiance même s'il manque quelques degrés dans la salle... dommage que le pain soit payant. On a passé une belle soirée, on y retournera certainement.
