Claim Jumper - Tualatin
They've trimmed the menu down quite a lot since our last visit, but there's still a lot of choice. The food we got was good - not outstanding . The only issue we had was with service, as our server would disappear for long periods. The place was dead when we visited, at 4pm on Black Friday (adjacent to Bridgeport shopping mall).
Too loud, servers were frazzled/ worn down as it was thanksgiving. With price as it was should have stayed home. We expected better. Ah well first and last time there. Will try almost anything once.
Food was good. Large portions but priced a little high. However, service was excellent! Our waitress was on top of things! Overall, it was a very nice experience.
Three of us ate here for Thanksgiving. The service was prompt for how busy it was. We each had a different entree and it was all delicious. The only complaint is it was so cold even with our coats on we were uncomfortable. As we gazed around more people were dining in their winter jackets then not.
Claim Jumper has been one of my go to places in the past. Orange County, Los Angeles; Clackamus, Oregon and now Tualatin, Oregon. I made reservations for four on Open Table.
The host at the counter was not very friendly. No greeting. My daughter who wasn't next to me noticed and said, "he did not look friendly at all." I said .... I don't know why? We waited for about five minutes to be seated. Our waiter, April was very nice and she made our dinner experience better.
The starter dish and dinner meal was kind of slow. We had the "Bonanza" which included mozzarella fried cheese sticks, loaded potatoes skins, and fried zucchini. We all had Caesar salads. Shrimp Fresca and Country Fried Steaks were our dinner choices. The portions were good.
My two star rating were the first impressions by the host, slow delivery of the meal service and the lack of cleaning materials in the men's restroom. The sweet baked potatoes and the mud pie are no longer offered.
Excellent food. We were a party of six on a Saturday night, and the restaurant was full at 6:30. A bit of a noise issue, hard to hear our conversation. But it was worth it. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Server was good, but overly worked. Forgot one of the drinks, which didn’t arrive until almost finished eating. Overall we were quite happy.
Unfortunately we had the sloooooooowest service, and even though we had reservations it took forever to get a table. The food wasn’t great, and even though it wasn’t very busy, no one had time to check on us. We won’t be back.
Amazing service. Thank you!
Visited Claim Jumpers on Veteran’s day, busy day for the staff, they handled it all w/ great professionalism. My wife and I thank you all for your support for the veterans of the armed services.
We reserved a table and it was waiting for us when we arrived, on veterans day, had a very good menu for the veterans, would recommend it to any one. will be going back soon!
Exquisite food & excellent service ! Easily accommodated extra guests & special requests. We'll be back !
Veterans day meal!
When: Sunday Nov 3rd; Party of 4 Adults
Service: This was our first time dining at this Claim Jumper location. We were really impressed with the overall service from the host, server, runner and on-duty manager. All were professional, courteous and upbeat in doing their responsibilities. We did not incur any issues during this visit, but know if one did persist, it would have been resolved immediately.
Food: To begin, we started with the shareable Bonanza Platter, which consisted of samples of various Appetizer dishes, such as the Spinach Artichoke Dip, Loaded Potato Skins, Lemon Pepper Zucchini and Mozzarella Sticks. For our entrees, the women in our party ordered the California Citrus Salad each while the men ordered the Fish & Chips and Rib Eye Steak. All items passed the initial eye test for presentation and tasted very well...There were no complaints from any one, we all had our fill and had no room for dessert.
General: This Claim Jumper location is rather large and on this Sunday afternoon, the dining area was only about 1/4 filled. Being located next to a Medical Center and across the Bridgeport Village Shopping complex, I would assume this place gets busy during the work week and the evenings. In my opinion, parking lot is rather small, unless there were more stalls in back fronting the I-5. Being from the Salem area, we may not make special trip to dine here, but if we are in the area to meet up with family, we would definitely meet up here again.
Sadly, they have changed the menu. Portions are smaller and the plates are large, so it looks like they can't do portion control right. I ordered a rib eye medium rare, and it came well done. The roasted vegetables were overcooked and the portion was smaller than 3 oz and the cream corn was watery. My husband's tri tip was small and they presented it sliced by did not fill the plate. The dessert was good. Their ladies washroom was out of paper products, so I told the hostess, she balked at it and the other host, told her to go refill, and she became rude. Honestly, this was during the dinner service and there was a lot of families celebrating birthdays. Luckily the health department did not inspect because no toilet paper was available, and patrons were used up all the toilet seat covers and hand towels. yuck!
Slow service. Food was semi warm. Drinks were good.
Service was very slow. My food was cold, noise level was high. I’ve eaten here several times and today was disappointing. Maybe they were short of staff.
We took my sister and brother-in-law to Claim Jumper to celebrate their 18 anniversary. We arrived during happy hour and we were asked if we would like to sit in the lounge. They assured me we would still get credit for our visit if we sat in the lounge instead of the dining room. Imagine my surprise when I got a text from Open Table, while we were eating dinner, asking why we didn’t honor our reservation. I immediately went to the front desk and showed them the text. Later when we paid our bill we were notified that they were no longer associated with Landers Select Club. On top of all this the meal was mediocre at best. We ordered the spinach dip and it appeared that they used a tee spoon of dip in a large piece of bread and a lot of chips. The salmon was overdone, and the creamed corn was soupy, not creamy. Unfortunately, this will be our last visit.
The restaurant seemed understaffed and overbooked. My reservation was for 7pm. I showed up at 6:55 and was told they were running a little behind. When I asked if there was an estimate for how long it might take the response I received was “well, your reservation isn’t until 7” from a snarky hostess. We ended up being seated around 7:20. It took about 45 minutes from when we ordered our food until we received it. This would likely have not been a problem except that we could see our food sitting under the warmers for quite some time. By the time it arrived to us much of it was warm, at best.
Great food and great service!!!
Our server and the gentleman who brought our food were both excellent at being friendly, however, the front end staff were much less so. It seemed to be almost an imposition on them to have people coming for a reservation time, and getting them seated. No friendly greeting from either of the two women who were there at the hostess desk. I would suggest having people working there who act as if they are happy to have a job and enjoy doing that job! Our meals were quite good and we both liked what we ordered, but the chilly atmosphere from front staff cast a bit of a damper on the evening out for us. Thanks!
Excellent service, attentive server. Flavorful food. Large portions. Clean restaurant. Only complaint is the water in the bathroom was extremely hot. No handles to adjust the temperature. My daughter couldn’t wash her hands thoroughly because she was burning her hands.
My husband killed 3 gnats flying around while we waited for our food. We ordered mozzarella sticks for an appetizer. They were over cooked, and one had no cheese. The entrees were equally gross. I had the southern fried chicken. It was obviously a frozen chicken. Our meal was $68. Needless to say, we won’t be returning anytime soon.
Very clean restaurant with good, warm decor. Good lighting without being too bright. For being a large dining room, it still offered a good experience in a booth. The food was hot and very tasty, with a good portion size. It was a little more expensive than we normally choose to spend, but not overpriced for the service and quality. We spent $100 for 3 very good meals, iced tea and a huge dessert.
I would definitely recommend this for a "little nicer than normal restaurant " without going to an expensive steak house or something like that.
Very good food, better than average service, and a good atmosphere.
Excellent food and service.
Food was good however we never got the bread that came with the meals, trying to get a coffee
refill and tea water proved to be next to impossible. Our waiter was more concerned with the
larger tables than a party of two. Noise level was very high due to football games being on the
my medium bone-in ribeye came without a bone and there was no pink in the steak. Our waitress was not attentive and failed on several points.
Waiter was slow and cranky and didn’t listen to our order properly. Food was way over salted and baked potato was hard as a rock. Food was cold.
The Claim Jumper website said it opened at 10:00 am on Sunday and gave the impression it was open for brunch. It did not open until 11:00 am with no brunch. Suggest the website be updated. The Tualatin restaurant has a wet, musty smell and is very noisy where we were seated. We've been there twice in the last year and it was the same smell and noise then also. The service to place orders was very slow.
Our reservation from the app worked perfectly. Literally the best ribs I’ve ever had, not even exaggerating. The desserts are fantastic. Our server was attentive but not overly so, it was just a really great dining experience. My girl and I are planning on taking family back.
As with most places the portions are too large. I would recommend smaller portions or half portions so food is not wasted. Otherwise it was a great family dinner. Thank you
Always good food at Claim Jumper. Not much need for a review though, if you have gone before you know what it's like and you will go back. If you have never been, you need to go. Have the Tri-tip sandwich if you go for lunch. Only order the chocolate cake if you have brought 5 friends with you. :)
Great food, always a good time.
FOOD WAS GREAT, Unfortunately my lady friend ordered wine that was on the menu but they did not have and waitress did not check in with us until salads were delivered then ordered replacement wine which was unsatisfactory and when finally got a respectable wine meal was all but over! Then charged for expensive wine instead of comping the glass...Pretty POOR!
Service was slow, brought 1/2 the table water, did not check in with the table often.
Had a great time, lots of food options, they surprised my dad with a birthday desert! Great staff! The lights seemed a bit dim but I have poor vision so you’re good if you can see well!
Landry’s ruins yet another restaurant. This used to be such a great place to eat but now it’s dirty and the food was horrible.
Our only problem with CJ was that we didn't know that they had been sold off by Landrys and no longer accepted the gift cards or reward cards from our membership with Landrys. It was pretty embarrassing to be told by our server as well as a manager with others at nearby tables listening in and no doubt wondering if we were trying to scam the restaurant, that we had to pay another way. We had made the reservation through the Landrys web site, and I have contacted them to help us. The food was good, but the experience was tainted by what happened at the end.
RUTHIE THE SERVER WAS AWFUL. OTHER THAN THAT THE FOOD WAS OKAY.
There website claimed they had brunch but they didn’t the food was horrible ribs were burnt fries cold salad soggy horrible service will not recommended this establishment to anyone
Wonderful service, delicious food, cozy environment and zero wait
