Claim Jumper - Tualatin
Service was very slow. My food was cold, noise level was high. I’ve eaten here several times and today was disappointing. Maybe they were short of staff.
We took my sister and brother-in-law to Claim Jumper to celebrate their 18 anniversary. We arrived during happy hour and we were asked if we would like to sit in the lounge. They assured me we would still get credit for our visit if we sat in the lounge instead of the dining room. Imagine my surprise when I got a text from Open Table, while we were eating dinner, asking why we didn’t honor our reservation. I immediately went to the front desk and showed them the text. Later when we paid our bill we were notified that they were no longer associated with Landers Select Club. On top of all this the meal was mediocre at best. We ordered the spinach dip and it appeared that they used a tee spoon of dip in a large piece of bread and a lot of chips. The salmon was overdone, and the creamed corn was soupy, not creamy. Unfortunately, this will be our last visit.
The restaurant seemed understaffed and overbooked. My reservation was for 7pm. I showed up at 6:55 and was told they were running a little behind. When I asked if there was an estimate for how long it might take the response I received was “well, your reservation isn’t until 7” from a snarky hostess. We ended up being seated around 7:20. It took about 45 minutes from when we ordered our food until we received it. This would likely have not been a problem except that we could see our food sitting under the warmers for quite some time. By the time it arrived to us much of it was warm, at best.
Great food and great service!!!
Our server and the gentleman who brought our food were both excellent at being friendly, however, the front end staff were much less so. It seemed to be almost an imposition on them to have people coming for a reservation time, and getting them seated. No friendly greeting from either of the two women who were there at the hostess desk. I would suggest having people working there who act as if they are happy to have a job and enjoy doing that job! Our meals were quite good and we both liked what we ordered, but the chilly atmosphere from front staff cast a bit of a damper on the evening out for us. Thanks!
Excellent service, attentive server. Flavorful food. Large portions. Clean restaurant. Only complaint is the water in the bathroom was extremely hot. No handles to adjust the temperature. My daughter couldn’t wash her hands thoroughly because she was burning her hands.
My husband killed 3 gnats flying around while we waited for our food. We ordered mozzarella sticks for an appetizer. They were over cooked, and one had no cheese. The entrees were equally gross. I had the southern fried chicken. It was obviously a frozen chicken. Our meal was $68. Needless to say, we won’t be returning anytime soon.
Very clean restaurant with good, warm decor. Good lighting without being too bright. For being a large dining room, it still offered a good experience in a booth. The food was hot and very tasty, with a good portion size. It was a little more expensive than we normally choose to spend, but not overpriced for the service and quality. We spent $100 for 3 very good meals, iced tea and a huge dessert.
I would definitely recommend this for a "little nicer than normal restaurant " without going to an expensive steak house or something like that.
Very good food, better than average service, and a good atmosphere.
Excellent food and service.
Food was good however we never got the bread that came with the meals, trying to get a coffee
refill and tea water proved to be next to impossible. Our waiter was more concerned with the
larger tables than a party of two. Noise level was very high due to football games being on the
my medium bone-in ribeye came without a bone and there was no pink in the steak. Our waitress was not attentive and failed on several points.
Waiter was slow and cranky and didn’t listen to our order properly. Food was way over salted and baked potato was hard as a rock. Food was cold.
The Claim Jumper website said it opened at 10:00 am on Sunday and gave the impression it was open for brunch. It did not open until 11:00 am with no brunch. Suggest the website be updated. The Tualatin restaurant has a wet, musty smell and is very noisy where we were seated. We've been there twice in the last year and it was the same smell and noise then also. The service to place orders was very slow.
Our reservation from the app worked perfectly. Literally the best ribs I’ve ever had, not even exaggerating. The desserts are fantastic. Our server was attentive but not overly so, it was just a really great dining experience. My girl and I are planning on taking family back.
As with most places the portions are too large. I would recommend smaller portions or half portions so food is not wasted. Otherwise it was a great family dinner. Thank you
Always good food at Claim Jumper. Not much need for a review though, if you have gone before you know what it's like and you will go back. If you have never been, you need to go. Have the Tri-tip sandwich if you go for lunch. Only order the chocolate cake if you have brought 5 friends with you. :)
Great food, always a good time.
FOOD WAS GREAT, Unfortunately my lady friend ordered wine that was on the menu but they did not have and waitress did not check in with us until salads were delivered then ordered replacement wine which was unsatisfactory and when finally got a respectable wine meal was all but over! Then charged for expensive wine instead of comping the glass...Pretty POOR!
Service was slow, brought 1/2 the table water, did not check in with the table often.
Had a great time, lots of food options, they surprised my dad with a birthday desert! Great staff! The lights seemed a bit dim but I have poor vision so you’re good if you can see well!
Landry’s ruins yet another restaurant. This used to be such a great place to eat but now it’s dirty and the food was horrible.
Our only problem with CJ was that we didn't know that they had been sold off by Landrys and no longer accepted the gift cards or reward cards from our membership with Landrys. It was pretty embarrassing to be told by our server as well as a manager with others at nearby tables listening in and no doubt wondering if we were trying to scam the restaurant, that we had to pay another way. We had made the reservation through the Landrys web site, and I have contacted them to help us. The food was good, but the experience was tainted by what happened at the end.
RUTHIE THE SERVER WAS AWFUL. OTHER THAN THAT THE FOOD WAS OKAY.
There website claimed they had brunch but they didn’t the food was horrible ribs were burnt fries cold salad soggy horrible service will not recommended this establishment to anyone
Wonderful service, delicious food, cozy environment and zero wait
Something for everyone, good food and service was good. Nice for families with small kids.
The menu had a good variety of items and we each enjoyed our meals. (2 adults + 2 kids) . The service was a bit slow, but appeared it was due to the number of tables a server was assigned. I'm not sure if they were understaffed at the time, but we sat outside and our server was working several tables. The soft drinks were $4+ which was incredibly high, in our opinion, and not refilled quickly. Having said this, we would still recommend CJ based on food selection.
We had a great time with our friends last Friday night. The service was great and our meals were too!
My family and I really enjoyed Claim Jumpers! We got our food in a timely fashion. The service was great. And everybody enjoyed what they received. I would definitely go back again.
Never been before. Excellent food. Will be sure to go back again.
Father's Day brunch with the family, had a wonderful time.
Took the family here for a nice family dinner. Food was excellent. Prices a bit high particularly for the drinks but all and all worth it for a great experience.
My burger was super dry and room temperature. I’ve had fast food burgers that were better. My sisters ribs were good though.
Usually big fans of Claim Jumper, but this brunch experience was horrible! Food selection was limited, service was slow and grumpy, and the food available was clearly old. Not at all our usual experience here!
We enjoyed the food, from the artichoke dip tray to the Tri tip steak. The butter cake and chocolate cake were also tasty!
Great place. Great service. Great food. Overall, great!!
Our waitress Madison was great!
Food is always delicious!
We'll be back for more!
The food was mediocre and service was unforgettable. I would not come back.
I would not recommend the brunch, alot of the food was bland, except for the scrambled eggs they were so salty that no one at our table (there were 7 of us) could eat them. The eggs benefit was fabulous though. We enjoyed the fruit, the cheese enchiladas and the little desserts available as well. Everything else as stated was a bit bland.
Good brunch, grandchildren loved ‘picking out’ their own food! Good value for the price. The carving station was particularly good/tasty! Excellent omelette station. Bring on Father’s Day!
