Claim Jumper - Sacramento
The issue was the quality of the food.
My wife ordered the Salmon medium but it came out well and dry. The waitress had the manager comp that.
I had the ribs and I ate it all but was well done and dry as well. I didn’t complain about the ribs but thought this is a good opportunity to mention
Great staff. Great food
Great food, service and ambience. Manhattan cocktail glass should be more full.
Our waiter Barry was awesome
This was my first visit to this location, and to my estimation this was just average. Our waiter worked very hard and no complaints, however the salads came almost on top of the appetizer ( do not bother with the bacon appetizer, the calamari was perfect, but the spinach dip was all bread bowl and no dip) and even though I advised we had time, entrée came before we could finish salad. everyone seemed to enjoy their food, however in two instances the salmon was dry, ( while I thought the crab topping was very good, one of our diners scraped it off as being to spicy). The steak appeared to be perfect, as did the various shrimp plates.
Overall it was a nice family dinner prior to a theater visit, but nothing to make it stand out or warrant a special trip to return.
The service was super slow. It was not busy, they must’ve underhired. It was super loud. The people next to us yelled at the manager. The food was fine, but not amazing. There were 4 of us, we spent $200. I won’t be back.
Food and service was outstanding, however, the restroom definitely needed attention.
Very good service. Staff was very friendly and accommodating.
Service was slow and food was fair.
This place has went down hill. They ran out of featured items a weekend night - even though the restaurant was not even busy. Salad bar was empty of most items. Food was served cold. Use to love this place not any more.
Our dining experience at Claim Jumper Sacramento was memorable. I believe I say it all with these words: We shall return soon, very soon!
Think tonight was severely understaffed. Food was wrong. Had to beg to pay our bill. Server had a good attitude though.
Thanksgiving Dinner was not tasty as all. It did not seem typical for CJ. I think the food was catered out.
Food was good, service was good, the wait time for food was slow and the bathrooms were filthy.
Great food, great service, nice atmosphere. A little noisy..a little pricey but enjoyed it a lot..
Despite a scheduled time, my guest and I were not greeted by the hostess for several minutes even though it was a slow Monday lunch hour.
Once we were seated it took over 5 minutes to have a waiter to take our order. The waiter was friendly but didn't serve the cheesy bread stating it was in the oven. We immediately placed the order for concern it would be a long time before our order was placed. We ordered buffalo chicken wrap and sliders from the half sheet lunch menu with limited selection. It took over 20+ minutes to be served and the complimentary bread was still not ready. We had to eat quickly due to the delays to return work on time. The fastest service was when it came to paying. Big disappointment since this site is no longer participating in the Landry's Select Club which I am a member for 5 years. This is generally my go to restaurant for work functions and it has been progressively declining in service. Fortunately the food made up for the poor reception and service.
Food quality has really gone down hill. Way overpriced as well.
I ordered chicken alfredo from the childs menu and there was no chicken in it. I called the restaurant and informed about it and was told to bring it back. I was going to next day but I couldn't because now I am facing rush hour and gas is too expensive to go back and then return home with her replaced dished. This is the first time I ever had a problem with a meal. If my grandaughter would have ate it I probably would have caught it then but she got full on bread and milk and didn't touch it. it was just plain spaghetti with the alfredo sauce. I was told it was supposed to be shredded chicken nope not one piece.
I appreciate the suggestion to fix the problem but I can't just be riding back in forth unless I was in the area.
Great meal and great value. Friendly staff. This CJ is not a part of Landry’s.
Our reservation was for 9:30 pm but when we got there just after 9 pm we were seated as it was pretty empty. We sat for about 15-20 minutes before anyone bothered to come to the table. We ordered all of our food and drinks at once and within a few minutes got drinks, appetizers, and salads all at once. Five minutes later approximately our entrees arrived as the kitchen was not busy. So, we had all our food on the table at once, there was no meal pacing at all. We only had a chance to have a couple of bites of salad before the rest of the food came. Our server was several different people and I never really knew who would be serving us at any given time. The last server we had was nice and very attentive, which was really nice given how the meal started. It was an anniversary dinner for my husband and me and I have to admit, it did not feel like a special meal at all. I do not think we will be going back for some time.
Great location. Great food! Outstanding service!
Excellent service & food
I have visited Claim Jumper in the past and have had a pleasant experience. It is very close to my job, walking distance so the location is very convenient.
I had a reservation through Open Table, I was greeted and seated quickly. We were seated at a 6 person booth, so we had a lot of room. The booth has fabric on it, it could use some cleaning. Nothing so atrocious, but it definitely could use a cleaning.
The service was just OK. The server was welcoming, we were served water and our place setting. The interval between our greeting by the server, taking our order and serving our order could definitely be shorter. We went during lunch time, but it was not crowded, so I expected my meal to be served sooner.
The meal. I ordered the Tri Tip special with vegetables, minus the mashed potatoes. The Tri Tip was salty. It was cooked medium well and served luke warm. The vegetables were sliced butternut squash with slivers of onion. The butternut squash was overcooked and a bit 'mushy'. The bread that accompanies the meal or table, was served warm.
I had finished my ice tea, I had to ask at the end of the meal for a refill because the server did not return until the bill arrived.
The ambiance, the lighting was good, the temperature inside was fine, and the music was old school rock. The patrons appeared to be mostly middle aged workers.
I would attend this establishment in a group during lunch time because of its location and ambiance. It does offer a variety of American style foods which offers the group different options. I will not attend this restaurant as date night or happy hour.
We utilize the online table reservation option. When we arrived, we were seated right away. Customer service was great, husband had fish, which he really enjoyed. I had the shrimp over rice, loaded potatoes & baked beans. I really liked the beans... Overall, the presentation was great too.
Met an old friend for dinner. The menu was extensive, the service was excellent. I had the southwestern chicken salad which was good. My friend had the wedge salad that make me a little jealous. We had pretzels and spinach dip for appetizers. I would definitely recommend you give the Claim Jumper a try!
I have eaten there before and it was wonderful, but this time the service was very slow. My daughters and I waited for our just our drinks for 15-20 minutes. We waited for our food for a half hour or more. The food was delicious but I’m not sure I want to spend my time in the restaurant waiting for it.
This restaurant has completely gone downhill. Used to be our favorite!
The waitress was very efficient and friendly. The food was yum. My husband is still raving about his filet mignon.
Service was good, food was great, restaurant was filthy
My friend and I went out to grab an appetizer and a drink. Our waiter was perturbed that we only wanted an appetizer and one drink each. He ignored our table and was very rude.
The tri tip wasn’t very good due to heavy handed seasoning prior to cooking..it was overwhelming, and couldn’t enjoy the flavor of the meat. Asparagus for both of us was grilled to dryness and even the tips were dry. All in all disappointing. We had to ask the waiter several times for water and our cocktail orders. The food came quickly but that was it.
This week in our little group of six, two of us were on crutches which make it challenging climbing the ramp from the below street level parking lot next door to the restaurant. We had a 5:00 reservation so we could attend a 7:00 performance also downtown.
Our waiter was sufficiently friendly and attentive. We wondered though if the kitchen was challenged. We ordered simple appetizers (cowboy bacon and spinach artichoke dip) which our waiter assured us were in queue. We waited and waited. The waiter brought our salads and apologized for the delay-since the appetizers had not arrived.
We were almost done with the salads when the appetizers AND our entrees were delivered at the same time.
For my meal, the filet steak was cooked perfectly, the Mac & Cheese lacked flavor, and the grilled vegetables (onion, zucchini, squash & mushrooms) were out of this world.
Not sure we’d return. But I wouldn’t dismiss it either.
Great flavor in the food but the fries were cold and alcoholic drinks were weak.
Food and service were great! So was our waiter Michael...we had a table for 7....everything was perfect!
Wonderful service and delicious food. appreciate all the GF Options.
Very friendly staff, prompt & attentive. The menu has a great variety of food. Great location, close to so much. Walked to the Golden 1 arena after dinner for a concert
Long wait for our beer & wine.
Rib eye just ok. Wedge salad way too big for a starter.
There were errors with the appetizer, salads, and entrees more than once. I expect it will be a while before we return.
Worst service I have ever had at this restaurant. Had a reservation and no one greeted us for at least 5 minutes.. server took 10 minutes to start order then left and I had to insist that someone else take our order, then hr bartender came over a few minutes later. We felt ignored as people who arrived after us were waited in first. After nearly an hour, we go our food. Where is the wait staff? I won’t ever go back.
