Claim Jumper - Monrovia
The service was fine, a few periods were we were wondering what happened to our server but he was kind and refilled our drinks (especially for my son).
My biggest "beef" was the removal of the beef ribs and baked sweet potato from the menu. This was very disappointing for my birthday luncheon.
In the Men's bathroom the baby changing table was broken so we had to get 2 people to address it (flap door wouldn't lock shut where the paper bed spreads were held).
Quality has gone way down since we started coming here. No more ribs, black tie pasta not even close to the original recipe, cheap substitutions, took away the champagne included not even get a cup of coffee included. For shame. What's my motivation for returning? Not surprised the place was so empty.
The steak was tough and small in size. It’s not like how it used to be.
Two of us had to wait and asked the waitress what had happened with the rest of the food after 15 minutes of waiting for it we were told that it was not put in the computer. We never got refills until we asked and then waited a while for the waitress to refill our drinks. We ordered dessert to go, after waiting 15 minutes we tracked down the waitress and asked for it.
We used open table for a reservation, knowing we may need to wait a few minutes. However, we waited over 25 additional minutes. My husband asked for something and the waiter put it in without coming back to confirm and it had ingredients on it my husband couldn’t eat. Our server was slow to check on how things were going. Being ours closed, we were super excited for this and were quite disappointed.
Our server was just fabulous. The food was delicious. My grandkids love your kids menu. Thank you for bringing back normal cut fries and got rid of shoestring fries. They didn't taste like fries. Too thin and fried up that all you taste is a fried up potato. My compliments on your salad bar. It's the best in town, hands down. Love love the hot bacon dressing. Don't ever change it. All in all, we love claim jumpers.
Very spacious. Staff was very attentive and friendly. Food portion were great
You need to be hungry to eat here! The portions are generally large, and sides are also good size. Our selections tonight were rib eye steak and chicken pot pie. The pot pie was pretty good - flavorful, lots of chicken, and the pastry shell was great. The rib eye was not as good as usual, with so much gristle that we had to send it back. I will say they were great about getting another but then the dinner is weird because one person is done and the other is still working on their meal. Probably won't chance the rib eye again - even though it should be the best and most flavorful of the steak cuts.
Service a bit slow, reservations is a must yet they are late about 20min, our reservation was 5:45 checked in at 5:40 and sat at 6:05
Only Claim Jumper near, food is good yet they have gotten very pricey
My reservation was at 1:45pm that was good on time. Service was very slow we didn’t get our food till almost about 45 minutes later my kids were starving and crying because they wanted their food out of so many other restaurants I decided to take my husband here on Father’s Day. We had asked for refills never got them! when I asked for extra bread I end up asking for it again to go because we never got our bread. Then I asked the waitress if she can bring me three boxes and if we can take our drinks to go, came back with three boxes started to pour the drinks in the to go cup and as she was putting the lid on the cup she spilled it all over my husband pants. Yeah happy father day husband what a joke of service!!!! the juice got all over the chair and my dress . So yeah we had a very unpleasant dining at clam jumpers in Monrovia California .
We ordered two entrees that clearly stated choose two sides but were not given option. One entree requested with a loaded baked potato but received a regular one. My order was the country fried steak. It was burned to a crisp that the crust just came off in one piece. Meat was also burnt inside. Gravy on meat and potatoes was extremely sweet. I left my plate with only a few bites. We went a head and paid our $142 bill without complaining but we should’ve said something.
The food forever to be serve and some of it was cold
We haven't been to Claim Jumper for several years. We went there to celebrate two friends' birthdays.
Our memory of Claim Jumper was big portion of food with a big baked potato. We were surprised at the small food portions. However, the food quality was good. We enjoyed our dinners. Thank you.
The food and service were reliably Claim Jumper good. However, the kitchen was putting the food out really slowly on a night that wasn't that busy, and the music was over-loud. So, an uneven experience. Still the overall offering is tasty and the ambiance pleasant. It would be cool to see the dining area emulate the warmth of the bar experience where my family and I often eat.
No long wait, food was great and staff was friendly.
We had a waiter took forever. We also had a hair in our dessert which made my stomach turn. Don't think we will be back
Food was good, options were pricey but good and worth it especially if you take home leftovers. The beef ribs are a lot smaller than they used to be. The ambiance is really nice, there was even a fire which felt really cozy on a cold day. Overall nice time.
As a gluten free eater, I really appreciated that the manager came to the table and let me know what was safe for me to eat. Super kind and helpful!
Food was not what I expected better of spending your money at applebees or BJs
Great atmosphere, awesome food and service. Appointment was a great idea
I have been to the Claim Jumper before but never on Mother's Day. It was very busy. Thank goodness we did have a reservation.
The service was excellent. Noise level was medium because we got seated next to a large party with children. Maybe we can specify on reservation if we dont want to be seated by large groups or children. We didn't want to request that i. Front of the party.
Dinner with close friends
Everything was fine for a family meal. The ribs are really terrific.
It was a great meal!
Server was good, service was slow.
If you like your food highly peppered, this is the place for you! It seems that the cook only sees salt and pepper as the seasoning of choice. I ordered grilled asparagus and the grilling was perfect but it was loaded with pepper to the point that you could barely taste the asparagus. They brought me out new asparagus and it was boiled and buttered, not grilled. A disappointment. The steak I had to scrape off the pepper. Their twice stuffed potato came as a baked potato with butter, sour cream and chives. Not what I thought I ordered. She offered to get me what I asked for but what they did was mash the butter and chives into the baked potato and put cheese on top and melt it. Not what I thought I was getting. It was a pricy meal that I definitely did not enjoy. The waitress was trying hard to give me what I wanted but that never happened. She was attentive and sweet but the meal was a disaster. To add to that there was a "SCREAMING!" 2 year old at the next table and I could not even hear myself think. Far from an enjoyable meal out! What would have made it better was to comp some of it, at least. What they did instead was upcharge me for the asparagus and the stuffed potato adding insult to injury! UGH! My friend's meal had the same issue but add to that the mushrooms were overly salted. The cook needs to go back to culinary school and learn there are other spices besides salt and pepper! Waitress was good and I did not want to bother her more by telling her about our total displeasure with the meal. Won't be going back any time soon...
