Claim Jumper - Fremont
Not a fair analysis as we went the day of the "mass shutdown" of the restaurant industry for the pandemic.
Definitely not a special occasion spot
My husbands and my dinner came with a salad, but we didn’t get them. When we asked about them, the waitress kind of giggled and was shocked we didn’ Get them. They did arrive after our main course. A little too late.
We had a great time with friends! Claim Jumper is a wonderful place for large groups to get together!
We walked right in and was seated. Took a while to get our drinks.
I've been here many times. But lately, over the last couple of months. I see the quality of the food and presentation, deteriorating very quickly. I was there this time and ordered their selection of country fried steak. Thought something new. So, lets try it. I have to admit, it was a painfully awful dish. Chewy as elastic. The cream on top was like hard butter. And the way the dish was laid out in the plate, made me feel like puking. Just horrible horrible dish. We also ordered some appetizers, cheese rolls, calamari, they too were awfully cooked. Overcooked. Even the angus beef burger was so difficult to chew. Extremely disappointing. I'd not recommend at least getting these dishes there.
Happy Hour was not good at all. We order several dishes and the server added extra dishes we did not order. I was very unhappy with the Food and Service.
If it wasn't for our amazing waiter Alec we would have argued for the entire bill to be refunded. The food took over an hour and a half to come out, it was dry, sub par, wilted, tasteless and overall so disappointing I will never go back and I actually taking the time to fill this out. Our group spent over 100+ and hardly any of it was edible. Not they way to celebrate nor leave a fun night.
My waitress Luz was the best! She was busy, but still checked up on us and made sure everything was good for us. She even gave us extra bread after we destroyed the first one. Give her a raise!
It wasnt that busy for one. Took forever to get drinks. Then we got our food and it wasnt that good. Had to keep reminding server for stuff.
Family friendly casual atmosphere. Food is good with an International flavor. Service was spotty and slow even though it did not seem busy. Have had better service here before.
No the waiter was rude we waited over an hour n a half for our food and it was cold
Family friendly. Good home cooking style menu. Service was off.
I took my mom to brunch on 1/19. It was fantastic. The service was outstanding! The food was fantastic. The gal making the omelets was so nice! When we left she held the door open for us. Mom uses a walker. The waiter was on top of it all. I wish I knew his name as I would mention it. This can be a noisy restaurant and I think the music could be a bit calmer however, while we were there it was a noisy restaurant. Other than that, we really enjoyed the brunch and the service. Mom and I will be back again soon! Please give a hug to the gal doing the Omelets and the carving. She could not have been a nicer and thoughtful person. Thanks, Lori.
Our server was helpful in picking a tasteful dessert.
Great restaurant for family gatherings and the wait time wasn't bad!!
This visit was disappointing compared to previous visits here.
The portions of food has definitely decreased while the prices have not.
The Country Fried Steak used to take up the entire plate however, no longer at Claim Jumper!
The "shareable" appetizer was $14.99 and was very skimpy on quantity! The desserts are (still) overpriced.
The rotisserie chicken was flavorful and fairly moist. The Caesar salad was blah and nothing special - just iceberg lettuce with some croutons, a sprinkling of parmesan and a nondescript dressing.
Definite changes since change of ownership a year or so, ago.
Claim Jumper would not be my first choice of places to go to, however, if someone else wanted to go here, I would still go.
A get together with dear friends. Dinner was great!!
We made a reservation for New Year's eve and they seated us 90 Minutes late even though there were many empty tables. They were grossly understaffed.
If one makes a reservation they should you seat you on time. A horrible experience.
Reservation was 630, were not seated until 730. No server for 15 min. No one checked back with us after we finally got our food and drink. We did not leave until after 9:00! Ridiculous.
server was good. Although one of the spoons that she gave us had crusted dried food on one of them. I would recommend servers check Utensils and plates prior to providing
Checked in and seated quickly. Server was nice but extremely slow. Waited 15 minutes for the food and they didn’t bring out the side salads until after the entrees. Took another 10 mins for the bread they promised when our order was taken. Also ran out of iced tea which I thought was odd. Extremely disappointing service although the food was decent.
We traveled from San Jose to Fremont for a very nice Christmas Eve dinner. W were very disappointed. My husband and daughter had the fried chicken and I had the salmon with herb butter. The chicken was dry and had a burnt taste my salmon was dry and tasted like it was Cajun flavor even though I asked he waitress told me different. Very disappointed.
Service was terrible
Steaks were overcooked
1 of our guests picked up a glass and the bottom of the glass was broke and water went everywhere - took about 8 minutes to get someone to clean it up.
We had 11 guests and we were totally disappointed.
I was with a large group a few months back and had a glass break exactly the same way - suggest you get different type glasses,
It wasn't crowded for being Christmas Eve. Our service was nice, the hostess was great. The rins were the best I've ever had. Wish they had one near me.
This comes across as a sports bar, but it has the best steaks in Fremont.
Definitely worth a visit
I made a reservation and that didnt matter. We were seated 45 minutes past our reservation time slot! Strike one!
We finally get seated.
The server did come to our table right away. However the drink order took 22 minutes. Stike 2!
Then our food qas cold! No excuse for that! Strike 3!
I have worked 40 years in customer service. I have worked in the food industry as a server, bartender and trainer. I know how the food industry works. NOT ONCE did we receive an apology or an explanation why everything was so far behind or taking so long.
When our food arrived it was cold. It was late and after all the waiting time, we paid the bill and STILL gave a 22%tip. Not worth it but I was a server once and know the frustration of working in a restaurant. However that does not excuse the fact that not once did anyone explain, apologize or inform us qhy our food was taking so long. We sat wondering and waiting for our server to return. We found out, he went on a break. Unacceptable service and we will not return.
The restaurant was not overly crowded but service was extremely slow. It took over a half hour to get our food and it was just average. One person did not get everything she ordered so at the end of our meal the server just put it in a cup for her to take home. Another had to return her meal and by the time the replacement was served, we had to have the server put it in a to-go box because everyone else was done (and had been done) eating. For a party of 6 we were stuck at the restaurant for almost two hours. Probably the worst experience I've had at Claim Jumpers.
Have had better steak from a less expensive restaurant.
We celebrated Thanksgiving with a delicious tri tp , mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables and apple pie. All very tasty. Friendly and swift service even on a busy holiday.
We went there for Thanksgiving we ordered prime rib medium the food came back medium rare? Service was very slow and not attentive at all. We waited almost 15 minutes just to be acknowledged and given water bread was never brought to the table after two times asking Server never came back to ask us for refills. Used to be so much better when they were part of Landry company now everything has gone downhill including the food and the menu changed again.
We were very displeased at the fact the service and food quality has gone downhill. Food came out cold the first time then lukewarm the second time. Waitress obliviously just gave another pre plated order of food. Desert that was included we took to go and the pieces of apple pie looked like crumbs that were leftover in the pan. All broken up and not much there. We won’t be returning to this location or possibly others ever again.
Waiter barely seen despite the restaurant being basically empty. We had to ask for bead and then he never brought any and no apology. Had to seek out service. Bathroom was not cleaned and only 1 stale in the ladies room had toilet paper. When we were leaving it was getting close to closing for the restaurant side (var side might stay open later?), the kitchen staff had Latin music blaring at an unacceptable level for a restaurant that still had customers. We will not return to this location. Love the Claim Jumper in SoCal.
The restaurant was so cold it both cooled our food quickly and made us uncomfortable. Service was consistently slow in a place that was nearly empty. No refills offered for drinks. I had a basic sandwich--grilled cheese with bacon--that was actually pretty good although one side of the sandwich was hardly grilled. French fries were not good at all.
Food was excellent. We went 30 min before closing, they ran out few things like bread which our kids love. Overall it was good experience.
Some of our food was cold. And burnt. Took the server forever to get back to us. Took over 1/2 hour to get anymore bread. We had split check. I paid mines but heh came to the other check. He charge wrong about on it. He fix it. But had to get a manger to fix it. Hope don't get and over charge fee. Didn't have that much money in my account. He didn't even feel bad.
