Claim Jumper - Fremont
Meatloaf and salmon were over cooked (dry and hard). My daughter kid meal spaghetti was spicy. They just have a different chef because it was horrible. We used to come here a lot but we may only order the Butter Cake to go - this was still delicious.
This was our second time at Claim Jumpers and it wasn’t that good. I had the chicken with wedge salad and mashed potatoes. Thank goodness that wedges was big because the chicken was tiny and my mashed potatoes tasted moldy and so I pushed Them around the plate there was a big black moldy potato ball, which ruined it for me. Our waiter never came by to ask if we wanted refills or anything. We didn’t complain only because we were celebrating my sisters-in-laws birthday.
But after this experience I’m just not sure about going again.
Was very good and love seeing people with special needs to treated so well.
Beer was cold and it took forever to get the drinks. It was my wife bday and she got a free cake...nobody sang her or even a $2 candle to blow
The food selection of the brunch is less, and the quality seems to be lower than before change of ownership too.
Nice luncheon with friends. Excellent service, good food.
We love Claim Jumper but were disappointed that they no longer belong to Landry's. We were celebrating 2 birthdays, expecting birthday discounts for both, only to find out after the fact they were no longer available. But 2 slices of Mother Load cake made up for our disappointment.
Lousy. The girl said I didn’t have a reservation. I showed her my confirmation email and she said no she didn’t have one for me. also said she didn’t know why the system would let me book one online when she was busy with everyone else and had no tables and I’d have to wait at least 30 minutes. She ended up seating us when we asked to speak to a manager. The waiter was nice. Food was barely warm and the fish from the fish n chips was greasy. Would not recommend nor do I see me going back anytime soon. It definitely wasn’t worth the 40 minute drive.
Claim Jumper has a good selection on their menu. My favorite is clam chowder. A good place to celebrate birthdays.
Great night!! Shots are not watered down and food was pretty good too.
Had a 4:30 reservation - great window booth - great service. Crowd started after 5:30, so our timing was perfect. Food delivered promptly, no rush, had a leisurely birthday dinner. They even boxed up a piece of birthday cake for us to take home. Great experience - we will be back!!
nice place with hearty food. Good appetizers, although they have changed the menu recently
It’s really gone down hill, I guess I haven’t been since it first opened and it was hard to get a table. Now it’s gone to a level where I’m not going to come back.
Best steaks in the East Bay by far
We have never had such bad service at any restaurant before. When we arrived, our reservation was honored, and we were quickly seated, but that was when the problems started. The main one being we were never waited on. We waited for 15 minutes with no one coming by to even give us bread. After those 15 minutes, I had to get up and find the manager to ask to be waited on. The manager was kind, and said she would send someone over right away. 10 minutes later, we still had no one wait on us, so we decided to walk out.
I am new to Fremont. I have eaten in several restaurants in the area and was very disappointed. I decided to try the Claim Jumper, as I have enjoyed it in Southern California, and was greeted by fine quality of food, service and environment. This was my second visit within two weeks, I will surely visit again.
The price for Father’s Day brunch was very high for the quality of the food. We can’t eat $30 worth of food at 10:30 in the morning. I didn’t realize the cost until we were seated. I am regretting that we stayed.
The Sunday brunch is fantastic. A very good value with exceptional food and ambiance. All the food was better than expected except the meats on the carving station. They were cooked well but served cold with cold gravy and au jui. Huge selection of other great food so the carving station miss doesn't detract from the overall experience.
Food was very good but found it to be expensive for brunch perhaps because it was Father"s Day. I would still recommend this place to friends.
Father’s Day Dinner.
There were missed orders. Waiter seldom checked on us, not very attentive to details. Overall a mediocre experience and would have gone to a different restaurant instead.
Way to hot..would not turn on air conditioning ..told it was broken..too hot to enjoy dinner
It was way too hot. They needed to turn the air on. The meal was not enjoyable because it was too hot in the restaurant.
We went to the buffet, which was very good. I was there last week, and the server was super attentive even though it was busy, and was totally on top of the drink refills. This time we had a different server. Super nice, but not great with drink refills at all. And it was not nearly as busy either.
It would seem claim jumper is going through ownership and management changes. Food was not as good. Ribs were dry. Usually you get a soup or salad with entree. Now no longer. The restaurant was slow. Service slow. .
Could be public is not happy with (new management) it either
Good lunch this afternoon. Nothing fancy, but food and service were good. Consistent mid-range meal and dining experience.
Our waitress was wonderful. We had one person in our party who is gluten free and our waitress made sure each meal in our party was satisfactory. The kitchen failed to prepare one item on our order and the waitress said she would stand over them til it was prepared. Very attentive! Food was great.
I like the food and the server was great. It would be better if they had a produce bar like the ones in Southern California. I like the steaks. The drinks used to come in an upscale looking presentation, but the last 2 times just a plain glass, not even a fancy looking one.
On the downside the server informed my they we not part of the Laundry's club anymore, so no earning points. This is one of the reasons I picked it. They said they could still do the rewards, but you would need to show the email. So while I like it, I am not sure I will go as often as the loyalty program was one of the perks.
We got our reservation via Open Table less than an hour before we wanted to be there. Open Table app is great. When we arrived to the restaurant we were greeted right away and seated promptly. Another couple came in just after us and asked how long the wait was since they didn’t have a reservation. The staff told them it was an hour and a half wait. However, when we were taken back to our table we passed by 11 empty tables. There clearly did not need to be an hour and a half wait for a table. We were there eating for over an hour and of those 11 tables, only 2 were filled within that time. Seems like they were turning away business instead of seating people at available tables.
When we did order, we ordered 4 dishes. It wasn’t until our order was brought to our table (about 25 minutes after ordering) that we were then told they “ran out of” one of our dishes. At that time, it was too late to order another dish that would have taken another 25 minutes) when our other food was already at the table. Seems like they should have known when they put the order in that the dish wasn’t available.
They did reduce the charge of one of our dishes which was nice. I’m assuming that was to comp us for the inconvenience.
Will never go back. Our family went to celebrate Mother’s Day and a birthday. We were seated by 7 PM. Immediately after being seated, our hostess told us that they were out of top sirloin and beef ribs. After ordering our drinks, she returned to say they were also out of straws. Shaking my head. After going to the menu, we made a selection and ordered our meal. Five minutes later, she returned and said they just ran out of pork ribs. So on a busy Sunday night they ran out of top sirloin, beef ribs, pork ribs, and straws. We asked to speak to the manager and he was In no way concerned about our dining experience. He simply said they were out and pick to something else. The waitress recommended the coconut shrimp. My daughter didn’t want to cause a scene so she agreed. The shrimp was dry and chewed like paper. Overall a horrible dining experience with poor service and even worse quality of food.
Food wasn’t that great. We paid the buffet price but don’t think we’re coming back.
Their services were excellent from the hostess to our server. He managed a very big table along with ours. He served both tables very well.
Great experience! My party just walked in and were immediately seated! The menu had something for everyone. I will be returning!
Took 45 minutes to get water for my party of 14 and I had to ask
Manager informed me that Claim Jumpers is no longer part of the Landry's Select chain of restaurants though no formal announcement was made to it's members. In fact, CJ still had brochures for Landry's at their front desk and cashier. Food quality has declined since last year. For instance, the pot pie is now served in a aluminum pan, not in a bowl, crust is not as crispy and flaky as before, chicken still dry.
Food was good. Candied bacon, bacon ribeye was over cooked, but that is easy to do as the cut is very thin - about 1/4 inch thick. The menu needs to include descriptions of the different dishes. Under the ribeye dish there is no description of the candied bacon nor the bacon relish so we had to rely on the waitress's description that the items were sweet. However, the candied bacon was spicy sweet - not good if you have allergies to chili spices. Also there is no description to tell you the difference between the baked potato and the loaded potato so you don't know what you are ordering. The value is good if you are a Landry's rewards member and have a reward to redeem. However, that may be changing as the manager said the restaurant was sold to another group. We have not received any notices regarding the change from Landrys.
Food was bad what I order I order some beef ribs I just got one for $24 service was bad the lady came back just give me my check never got any refill for drinks
