Claim Jumper - Concord
The food is good however not everything on the menu is worth the cost. Why does a chicken breast with mashed potatoes and some mushroom sauce cost as much as a 5oz filet mignon. The taste was great but eating healthier should not have to cost more.
Haven't been to a claim jumper in a while. Decided to stop after going to the zoo. It was fantastic! Our waiter was awesome. Never had to ask for a refill, food was speedy and cooked to perfection. Already planning our next trip
Just wasn’t that good seems have gone down hill. Server didn’t bring all that was ordered had to ask.
Food was not so great, and definitely not worth the amount I ended up paying for it! Service was good and staff was friendly.
The food has been better!
Disappointed with server hygiene.
The choices of food are far less then previously. It may be that the new mall nearby has taken all the Business. They used to have decent bargains and offered beef ribs which no longer are options. The drinks are watered down now and used to be good. Service was nonexistent.
Always a good time.. But the food is going down hill
The management had changed 7 months ago. The food were almost all terrible. BBQ chicken salad was terrible, no taste , and the chicken were few pieces slicked as thin as paper. The clam shower soup was watery with not much clams in it, with lot of potatos only.
WE HAD TO RETURN BOTH ITEMS ( total 2 salads and 4 cups of soups.. we were a party of 11)
The hamburger was not so good, not tasty at all. Less than good.
We asked for the manager, who was very rude and did not even apologize for the returned salads and soup, and just said: do you want to order something else?
We will never go there again nor recommend it to our firiends.
I had requested an attentive server with my reservation. The reservation was not handled timely and the server was attentive at first, but then took a break with an inattentive server taking her place. We were trying to make a concert in time, so this was frustrating. The food itself was good, but the fish was rather small in the fish tacos.
As we walked in it was very dark and not many guest. Once we were seated it took about 15 mins to get our drink orders. They made the cocktails wrong, then when we asked for Coca Cola refunds they said they ran out of all sodas. We waited 45 mins for our food to come out, but when it did the chicken was raw, all the food was very very cold. We ended up just eating our salads and leaving after being there for 1 1/2 hours. The waiter only had 3 tables and he was late getting everything. The manager gave me a refund for the raw chicken even though we sent back all the cold food to the kitchen. It was horrible, especially because I had family and we drove all the way from Sacramento to stay the night in Concord. We ended up at Taco Bell right after because we were so hungry.
Everything was great! Very good all around! The food was good and the server was excellent made great recommendations and was attentive.
My family and I have been going to Claim Jumper off and on since it first opened. It used to be a fun, family place to eat. The night our party of five went there, the tall guy at the counter was great, taking care of guests, talking to servers, etc. It was clear from the start that it was our waiter's first night, which he said, but his training must have been non-existent at the most. Every item and visit was mixed up - and we waited a looooong time between his visits. Yet, the restaurant was not that busy. And I don't think the poor guy was actually able to handle more than two tables anyway. It was as if he was a nice, young man who Claim Jumper brought in from the shopping plaza to help out that evening since we found out the staff was "short-handed" as another waitperson told us. Is Claim Jumper under new management?Going under? Lost your lease? I won't be back since, as you know, there are many quality restaurants nearby.
It looked empty and still took a long time to seat us . Our food took long and it was cold .
The hostess that "greeted" us had all the warmth of a prison guard. The server was friendly but either he or the kitchen staff was incompetent. They were out of Guniess and Coors. An additional bread roll for the table was promised, then not delivered, after quite some time, then we were told that they needed to make more bread, then later we were told they had put them in the oven and it would take 8 minutes for it to cook. So we got bread AFTER we finally got our food which took an hour and 15 minutes to get to the table. We asked the person that brought out our food for utensils and she said she'd tell our server. So, we sat there for several more minutes before we were able to actually eat. Two people at our table ordered that same side. One of us got it, the other one didn't. When we asked, the server said he would get it for us, then he said they were cooking it, several minutes later he came to tell us the kitchen was out. He did offer to sub something out but we were pretty much ready to leave by then. The food was good except for the fish and chips which tasted weirdly like Chinese food. The server mentioned that the chain had been sold so I guess the decline all makes more sense. The bathrooms were both gross. I didn't see the men's room but someone in my party described the mess to me. The soap pumpers in both bathrooms were broken and sitting on the counter. There was a carpet dryer in the men's room and the cords were all over the floor. It's such a shame, Claim Jumper used to be a nice place. We won't be back.
Never a high end restaurant, but Claim Jumper has fallen a long way down. It used to be known for large portions of decent food at a decent price. No More! The food was terrible. We were a group of 6. Four ordered burgers, each was burned. One ordered a ribeye steak that was as thin as a slice of ham and cooked to leather. Mac and cheese came out cold and had to be sent back. One of the worse restaurant meals I have ever had, at any level restaurant, including fast food. Time to close Claim Jumper.
My extended family loves Claim Jumper. However, our experience at this restaurant was disappointing. Our waitress appeared to be overworked, as she was not very attentive. While the entree was tasty, it was delivered without clearing any of our salad plates and well before we had finished our salads. (not the responsibility of the waitress, apparently)
We got one of the free motherlode chocolate cakes, as we had a birthday in the group. The cake was delivered and we had to wait five minutes before we got a chance to ask for plates and forks. The cake was undercooked and tasteless. I was very disappointed.
Also, my blended strawberry margarita was NOT. the fruit mixture was a gelatinous disappointment.
Everytime we visit this location we get very good food and service. Claim Jumper is a chain so you know what you should be getting and this location delivers consistently. All did people in our party enjoyed their meals, drinks, and dessert. Good gluten-free options too
My family and I drive over an hour to enjoy this meal. The food was delicious and there was a large selection. The staff was so friendly and caring and the restaurant was clean.
Nice, comfy booth for our party of seven. Plenty of room too.
The service was horrible we stayed up at the front desk for five minutes before we had to go find them and they told us to just go ahead and sit even though we had reservations. The food came out nasty I had an Asian chicken salad and the chicken tasted old got me sick to my stomach server never came around as how we were doing we had dirty napkins that rolled up that we left on top of the table but we went and picked up other rolls from other tables.
Outstanding eating experience..from walking in the door and being acknowledged by the staff, being seated and order taken by server. Wide variety of menu selections, great prices, and portions were beyond expectations. The meal was served hot and excellent taste. Server was very friendly and helpful. Will return again.
Celebrated my fathers 77th birthday with my family, 7 total which included my autistic son. They provided us with a large corner of the restaurant table which helped my son as he is sound sensitive. We ordered food and it was delivered quickly. Great service. Great overall experience
It was my birthday and we had a great time. The special cake was amazing.
Service was very bad. Food was cold. Not worth the money! Very disappointed.
Ownership is changing. Went to use Landry points weren’t able to use them. Overall just an average experience. Portions are still very large. Not in any hurry to return
Food was Luke warm
Staff and environment seemed frenzied when we walked in
Reliable food and very good service. Good for large groups!
Food was good but not all of it hot. Rolls were delicious!! Service was slow but think it was our server as we saw tables that came in after us, served food and left before us. It was extremely crowded and would return at a less busy time. Obviously a very popular dining destination.
Dirty glasses, dirty silverware, mostly unimpressive, not as good as we remembered... Service was very attentive and nice though.
My coconut shrimp entree seemed like more coconut breading the shrimp, the balance was slightly off to my liking. Service and ambiance are fine, we also enjoyed a small amount of the 6 layer chocolate cake and took the rest home.
The music was too loud, but everything else was excellent.
OpenTable, however, is another matter. They plead that they are incapable of fixing an error (not my error) in their database that has them calling me by somebody else's name. My reply emails bounce, and my comments on their website just get me the same boilerplate email repeatedly, with useless information, over a different sig each time.
We made a reservation through open table for 7:00 pm. By 7:45 they still did not have a table and we left. The hostess area was disorganized With the list being lost several times as I was watching the confusion. I have been here before and have never seen it so bad. We ended up getting fast food hamburgers for dinner
I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone. We had reservations for 7 pm and didn’t get seated until after 8 and didn’t get dinner until after 9 pm. The hostess told us that we would be the next table to be sat and then 20 minutes later, my niece asked how long the wait would be and she was told 45 minutes. What are reservations for? Then 9 of us got food served approximately the same time while 2 people had to wait about 10 minutes for their meals. Not good.
They seemed overwhelmed by a holiday crowd as there were delays in getting seated, being served and receiving our food.
We made the reservation for 5:45, was sat by 6:05. Took about 12 min before someone greeted us. We have our entire order at one time rather than just the drinks. Apps took about 23 min. The apps were delicious. By 7:36, we were still waiting on our dinner. The guests that came after us and sat after us already had their dinner. I had to request water refills. Server said our food was coming right up but after the 3rd table that came after us, received theirs before us we decided to leave and take our hungry kids home. The manager who working the front register, from what I witnessed, can't handle multitasking thoroughly. For a restaurant with so much potential, it looks like it's losing business due to not being able to handle the guests.
Our party arrived just a bit early, we were seated in twenty minutes. Our waitress was excellent, however we waited an hour and half for the food to arrive. Our waitress did everything she could to keep us happy. Normally we would have left and gone elsewhere but frankly on Fathers Day every venue was full. Great Waitress, very good meal and our family enjoyed the additional hour and half to visit.
It seemed that either the kitchen was understaffed because the restaurant was not crowded. Very Strange but it was fine to be able to visit.
No I would not cone back again.

We normally spend Mother’s Day and Father’s Day here and are never disappointed. ❤️
My family got ill from the food. Refer to Contra Costa County Health Department report.
Restaurant was previously closed for major code violation.
This is the first time we visited Claim Jumper since they were shutdown for major health code violations. We hoped they would be going over the top with both service and food. Both were terrible. The food was bland and seemed like it was microwaved. The drinks were watered down, and the service was slow. It was not crowded.
They put us in the back and we were ignored Soup was cold when served. Food was disgusting. I never had such a terrible experience.
