Claim Jumper - Carmel Mountain
The ribeye steak was very tough. This should be a very tender cut of meat. My husband ordered chicken fried steak and it was tons of breading and very little meat. The salad bar did not have very many options on because a lot of the dishes were empty.
My friend had coconut shrimp and it was good but she said it had too much coconut on it.
The server was excellent and courteous.
We had a reservation for 6pm this past Saturday. We informed them that we had a baby and child and they sat us right by the kitchen where hot plates would be coming out right over the baby’s head. We moved to another of the numerous open tables that were available on our own. That was the beginning of the end. It took us forever to just get menus and water. Then we got bread but had to request butter 4 times before we got butter. From when we sat down, we waited over an hour for our salads to arrive. They told us to go to the salad bar because the food was so slow but there were broken plates with glass shards where the salad plates were. We didn’t even get the drinks we ordered for over 30 minutes. All this time we had 2 hungry kids to keep entertained. Once food did arrive we did not have utensils so we had to wait a while just to get that. Also we did not get our appetizer until after all of the entrees arrived. My daughter did not get water until the end of the meal. For the cost of the meal it was definitely not worth it and I will never eat here again. They didn’t even comp any dessert or anything for their major screw up. Worst meal I have ever had.
Arrived at 5:46 p.m for 6:00 p.m. reservation. We were asked to wait. At 6:00 p.m. the same sized party walked in and they were seated immediately. We questioned the hostess and we were seated. At 6:20 p.m. we still did not have a wait person so my son asked the waitress at the next table. She returned to say she was the waitress but had not been informed. We gave her our order. By 6:45 we received water and bread. One person ordered the salad bar and she went to help herself but we had to ask for utensils and napkins. They were about to serve our order to the wrong table at 7:30 p.m. They served me a side salad instead of the entree salad I ordered. My grandson never received his side so we asked for it to go. My son was told by the waitress he would receive two ribs on his order but only received one. He was then told the portion size was changed. We found the waitress to ask for boxes. I asked for and received a birthday dessert.
Before we ordered anything, the waitress was given my Landry's card. When we received the bill, she informed me Claim Jumper was no longer a Landry's restaurant but she gave us a 10% discount. I went to the front desk and was given my rewards but was informed I would not receive points.
The food tasted fine. My son commented his clam chowder was lukewarm to cool.
This was a disappointing birthday dining experience.
The restaurant was a bit noisy, but the restaurant appeared clean and well kept. The food was a bit pricey, but it was good. My visit was a positive experience overall. The one thing that made my experience so positive was the outstanding service given by the waitress. I could only hope that when I return, she would be there to wait....or at least someone of the like.
Our service was awful. The food was okay. But honestly I wouldn’t spend my money here again.
