Claim Jumper - Buena Park
Service is always great and today was especially nice. We were celebrating my husband’s bday, and although we were keeping it casual- it still felt special. Thx!
(Food though, is not as good as it use to be.)
Everything was good and service was good.
not like the original Claim Jumpers - with all the stuff on the walls, and more upscale, larger portions, with better refreshed salad bars, etc. This one was aging and dumpy. Food was low class looking (e.g. the cheap red looking thing they poured over the vanilla ice cream; the gravy they brought out separately that was made separate from the tri tip, etc., etc.
Perfect as could be :)
Love the service at CJ
This location is really run down and the service was just ok.
I’ve always love Claim Jumpers. The amount of food for the cost is great. It’s comfortable and the servers are fantastic!
The food and desserts are so yummy!
We went there to eat before going to Knott's Scary Farm. I ordered the meatloaf and it was the best meatloaf I've even had at a restaurant. The gravy was absolutely delicious! I also loved the mashed potatoes. The portions were huge! My boyfriend ordered the pot pie and was equally pleased. I would highly recommend this place.
Nick was a great server. We were in and out with full tummies and dessert to go! Total pleasure eating at this Claim Jumper! Highly recommended
Waited even though we had a reservation, service was slow and food was not great some of it was served ice cold - wouldn't recommend this location I've been to other Claim Jumpers that were excellent this one just seems to be lacking.
It was great food and good service... the waiter understood our needs and was very accomodating
After a long day at Knott’s Berry Farm on Friday, we walked over to Claim Jumper. Making our reservation through Open Table worked perfectly! When we walked in, we were seated immediately and our server Cesar, greeted us soon after. He made sure to answer all of our questions, checked on us regularly, refilled our drinks promptly! The food was excellent, the restaurant was clean, the staff were exceptionally friendly and it was a perfect ending to a long day! Thank you Claim Jumper!
Server was slow, inattentive, and unresponsive. I complained to Manager who took no responsibility. When I told him the restrooms were a mess, he said thanks for letting him know. Since when does a manager depend on customers to tell him when the restroom needs restocking and cleaning. Very poor
Service was not good. Waitress spoke rudely. Had to ask for items multiple times. Forgot our appetizer. Food was not hot. Alcohol drinks were watered down.
As usual the food was very good, but the restaurant was not as clean as it could be. The tables definitely need to be resurfaced as the wood is incredibly sticky.
ZERO stars!!!!!! First thing when I opened the napkin that has the silverware in my fork was full of dried old food. Second I ordered fillet mignon and it was extremely tough and had a bad taste to it. Also my fiancé had ordered a clam chowder soup. That was not brought out until we reminded the server about it once all food was out. Lastly we had also ordered a mai tai drink which tasted DISGUSTING!!!!!!! More than half the drink was left it was just that bad. I had not been to a claim jumpers in over 6 years and I was EXTREMELY disappointed. NEVER AGAIN WILL WE BE RETURNING. Was NOT worth my money!!!!
Had the best time! Food was delicious & our server Kaitlin was awesome!
The food was good, however we had reservations and when we walked in the hostess never acknowledge us or even asked why we were there standing in front of her waiting for greeting or to even ask why we were there!
After we ate, my friend and I went to the bathroom there was a homeless lady doing drugs on the counter and taking a birdbath!!!!
The quality of food at this chain has greatly declined. I got the rotisserie chicken as my wife got the surf n turf. What is highly noticeable about their food is that you can tell everything has been frozen. The steak, the chicken, and the fish each had the texture that it was frozen. At these prices I expect my food to be fresh, not frozen. The reason we came to claim Jumper was to give the chain a second chance as I recall having the same experience about six years ago at the Fountain Valley location. However, if you are going for the salad bar this place beats almost anywhere I’ve been. Keep this in mind when you and yours are looking for some great quality food in the Buena Park area.
Had not been to Claim Jumped for a few ywars. The food was great,, service great, so not know why we had not hard diner there for a few year. Will be go again, Soon! We were celebrating our 41th wedding anniversary had a wonderful time.
Food was excellent. Service was good. But the only turn-off was our table was sticky.
Very friendly service and great food.
Enjoyed the lively atmosphere , the outstanding food, the value and very nice service!!
We had a table of 9. My son chose CJ for the beef ribs, which we found out weren’t on the menu anymore. My daughter and I ordered filet mignon, but the chef determined they weren’t up to standard (read spoiled). The server was overwhelmed with other tables so the service was terrible.
I really want to continue liking Claim Jumper, but the Buena Park location, along with the now closed Brea location, both seemed lacking in service. The food was good but was a little bit pricey for what we got. May try another location to see if it's better.
Main problem was hostess. Our reservation was at 8:30 and still had to wait an additional 15mins. Once sat, there were plenty of tables open. Another customer came in and asked for wait time. She actually admitted she didn’t even know. Once sat, waiter was friendly. They did run out of fried cheese sticks. We did have to request silverware. Food was good but did take a little long.
Almost all of proteins were over-cooked and lacked flavor (seasoning). For the price, and clearly reduced portion sizes and poorly cooked food we will not return to this or any Claim Jumper in the future. Oh, and why aren't you connected to Landry's corp any longer? Did they dump you because of complaints, poor food quality, ineffective management?
Not busy but service was horrible. Saw our server once the whole time we were there. Waited for about 30minutes for the food to come. Had to track down someone to get the bill. Looked like someone had reassigned the server to a different area and forgot to assign a new server to our table.
Overall, a good experience. The restaurant was a little dirty (seat upholstery, glass, salad bar, condiments).
Open table does not have any standing here. When you arrive you are told that you get in line like everyone else. The place wasn’t that busy and still couldn’t not accommodate a reservation. I was placed bottom of the wait list. I have no idea why they have open table if it’s not used as the app intends.
The food wasn’t bad, a little overpriced but doable. The waitress was attentive and happy to help with anything we needed. I’m not sure if I would go back to that location because of the open table thing, it just seems like a ploy to get you in the door without any consideration for people’s time but in general to food was good.
Claim Jumpers is a really nice restaurant! Kind of in between a high end steak house and an average restaurant. They are a perfect place for small or large celebration, very diverse menu, fantastic food expertly prepared. Great for sharing a meal. Servers are terrific and attentive! Love coming here for a great meal and fellowship!
Not the best claim jumper. For the prices you are paying I wish they were more comparable to other locations I have visited..
We had a great time! Our entrees were okay, but the drinks, appetizers, and service were amazing. Kelle did great!
This restaurant just seems to not be as great as it was a few years ago. The ingredients in the chocolate overload cake seemed lower quality, especially the frosting. It was like a large Little Debbie treat. Our server was kind, but we did have to ask for refills on our drinks a few times. The restaurant was old and needs updated interiors. Our food was good, but this place used to be excellent. While it ranked up with Cheesecake Factory in my memories, it now sits around Marie Calendar's. We will likely head somewhere else next time we plan to spen $20 a person on dinner out.
We always go to the Long Beach location but now we have another one we like. It was my husbands birthday dinner and his free cake was truly amazing
it was just my order that was the problem. I ordered a County Fried Steak and most of it was the coating. Hardly no steak. It didn't even seem like real steak.
Food was decent. Menu was decent. Service was good. But I will not go back! As a single traveler, I rely on restaurants to have Wi-Fi. My device called for a password to get into Claim Jumpers Wi-Fi. When I asked for the password, I was told they no longer had customer Wi-Fi. Since I rely on this to get caught up with both business and personal activities, I will not be back at Claim Jumpers.
Visiting from out of town. I have never been so disappointed in food. Everything was dry and no flavor. I had a drink from the bar and it was so strong. I will say the server was very nice and took the drink and other food items that not edible. This location needs a serious cleaning and remodeling. For prices you pay this is unacceptable. Wouldn’t recommend. Only thing good was server
The service was awesome. Jackie is the best. the food was very good and we got the date night special and it was a bargain. We will definitely be going back to this place
