As one of the CranberryCo clan, the Clachan Grill prides itself on serving only the finest locally and sustainably sourced produce.

With our scenic River Dee backdrop, we're ideally located for locals and visitors alike. Cosy and welcoming, we promise to serve our delicious, Scottish fare with a side of Northern hospitality.

Head Chef Bartek Bukowski has carefully designed the Clachan Grill's menu to reflect the diverse ingredients Scotland has on offer, drawing inspiration from Scottish classics, while elevating them to the level of a modern Grill.

From the moment of entering the restaurant there was an atmosphere of genuine warmth and welcome. The staff were courteous and all very professional and the food was superb. The quality of the produce, the provenance, the presentation of each of the dishes and the flavours were quite exceptional. This was our first visit to The Clachan but it certainly won’t be our last!

It is very warm in Scotland right now and the restaurant does not have air conditioning. We asked to be seated at an outside table since that would be cooler. We were told they were short handed so that would not be possible. We asked to move to a table closer to the room fan and it was bearable. We all ordered the Sunday roast with all the trimmings. The roast was possibly the best I have ever had. Very nicely seasoned and very tender. The Yorkshire pudding was slightly over brown. It was almost crispy.

Great food and service. Quiet restaurant. An expensive meal but worth the quality of the food and service. Would go again. Steak, risotto and cullen skink were all good. Toffee pudding was amazing.

My wife and I had a wonderful dinner at Angus & Ale tonight, and we couldn't be more pleased with our experience. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was inviting and cozy – perfect for a relaxed evening out. We started with a bottle of their "Cuma" Organic Malbec, which was absolutely delicious and paired perfectly with our meal. For starters, we shared a "Mac Attack," which was a delightful surprise and a great way to kick off our dinner. For our main courses, we opted for the 7oz Fillet with Peppercorn sauce, and it was cooked to perfection – tender, flavorful, and exactly what we were hoping for. We finished our meal with an STP (Sticky Toffee Pudding), a classic dessert done right. The service was attentive and friendly throughout the evening, striking a perfect balance between being present and allowing us to enjoy our meal at our own pace. We highly recommend it!

A wonderful meal. Great service, wonderful food, and very nice atmosphere. We travel to Ballater from the states about once a year and always make it a point to eat here at least once. We have been here three times and have never been disappointed.

Normally am not a lover of set menus but this one actually works. You can have 2 or 3, your choice. I shared my husband’s starter and he shared my dessert. It just balanced out. I really had a good meal. The steak was so soft.

All the staff were fantastic, well mannered and polite and couldn’t do enough for us. The food was absolutely amazing, could not fault one bit of it. Highly recommended if you’re in Ballater it’s a must visit restaurant.
