   We have been eating in this restaurant since it first opened and the quality has not changed and neither has the service. It is good value for money. My only criticism would be that the menu was a little short of choice.

   Another delicious meal at Clachan grill. Two courses. Superb steaks, cooked well. The staff were lovely and service good with no waiting time. The restaurant was busy but well staffed and the ambience was lively but not noisy.

   The restaurant is beautifully decorated, with just the right combination of cozy, rustic and romantic. The poached pear appetizer was complex and enjoyable. Both the chicken supreme and cod dinners were executed flawlessly. Proper cheese assortment and accompaniments as well as a fabulously light sticky toffee pudding rounded out an outstanding evening. This little spot is a gem!

   A little gem, hidden away but well worth the find. Food was fantastic. Great ambiance and staff very friendly and helpful. We would definitely recommend.

   Definitely overpriced! 34 pounds for two small pieces of roasted chicken. Sirloin steak was 42 pounds. Both were just okay. Menu is very limited. The sticky toffee pudding was wonderful! Service fee is charged automatically on bill

   It was a very quiet evening, but fire was on, staff welcoming and food very good. Difficult not to order the sirloin steak from Braemar butcher - perfectly cooked and melt in mouth

   The Clachan grill is a fantastic place to grab a bite to eat whilst exploring royal deeside. The food was amazing and very tasty. The food arrived quickly and the staff were attentive to our needs. The portions are substantial and you will not walk out of the restaurant hungry.

   A very positive experience - stylish surroundings, a warm welcome, efficient and attentive service. A smallish traditional Scottish menu with locally sourced produce made for an enjoyable and tasty meal. It provided a nice alternative to pub grub in the centre of Ballater.

    The Sunday roast is good value. We had the beef and it is much better than anywhere else outside of Scotland. The beef was nicely cooked and extremely tender. A good range of veg on the plate. For dessert the pudding was delicious. Everyone serving was polite and efficient
