Head Chef Bartek Bukowski has carefully designed the Clachan Grill's menu to reflect the diverse ingredients Scotland has on offer, drawing inspiration from Scottish classics, while elevating them to the level of a modern Grill.

    My wife and I had a wonderful dinner at Angus & Ale tonight, and we couldn't be more pleased with our experience. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was inviting and cozy – perfect for a relaxed evening out. We started with a bottle of their "Cuma" Organic Malbec, which was absolutely delicious and paired perfectly with our meal. For starters, we shared a "Mac Attack," which was a delightful surprise and a great way to kick off our dinner. For our main courses, we opted for the 7oz Fillet with Peppercorn sauce, and it was cooked to perfection – tender, flavorful, and exactly what we were hoping for. We finished our meal with an STP (Sticky Toffee Pudding), a classic dessert done right. The service was attentive and friendly throughout the evening, striking a perfect balance between being present and allowing us to enjoy our meal at our own pace. We highly recommend it!

    A wonderful meal. Great service, wonderful food, and very nice atmosphere. We travel to Ballater from the states about once a year and always make it a point to eat here at least once. We have been here three times and have never been disappointed.

    Normally am not a lover of set menus but this one actually works. You can have 2 or 3, your choice. I shared my husband’s starter and he shared my dessert. It just balanced out. I really had a good meal. The steak was so soft.

    All the staff were fantastic, well mannered and polite and couldn’t do enough for us. The food was absolutely amazing, could not fault one bit of it. Highly recommended if you’re in Ballater it’s a must visit restaurant.

    Nice venue and staff, food was good but could be hotter, however very tasty. Nice wine and draft beer. Steak was a little tough along one side but nice and flavourful. Would recommend for the Sunday roast and burgers are good.

    Fabulous food. My fillet was the best ,and I have eaten a few fillets in my time ! Partners sirloin the same cooked to perfection So welcoming and nothing too much trouble, even though it was a very warm busy service. Interior beautiful,loved lighting's. Pretty wee courtside garden with tables for anaperitif. Friendly. Love the kilts all servers wore too. Thank you to the owner (forgot name sorry)for making our special anniversary evening just perfect. Karin & Dr George Cumming Thorburn

    Lovely setting and good quality food. Menu choice could have offered one or two more options but all of us took something different. It was a very hot evening and the restaurant could have benefited from more ventilation. We will return and enjoy the food and great service agon
