Would like to thank Deanna For the appetizers. Was so nice of you, and happy to meet you! The meal was fabulous!
Food was very good. service excellent. happy hour great. Only suggestion is to put the martinis and drinks that are on happy hour on a list. The poor waitress had to go over them several times.
I had a great time at lunch with my family! Staff was wonderful! Will definitely be coming back
Just a good spot with a decent menu and very nice atmosphere to watch the games. Service was very good as well
Service is great, food is great. Happy hour the best!!!
The food was good. But the entrée came out lukewarm.
Ate at the bar and the service was terrific and the food was delicious!
Had a very pleasant meal with the family. We have driven past this location for years and never stopped in. We are all happy that we did. Everyone enjoyed their food. The restaurant was very comfortable. Service was pretty decent (very good at first but took an extremely long time to bring us our check). We were wanting some comfort food on a cold night and CJ McLoone's was perfect for it. We all thought that we got a good value for our money. We will be back soon.
our server Deja was prompt, attentive to our requests and was very pleasant when she would stop by to check on everything! You should give her a raise!!
Bring back the plexiglass so people feel safer again please
Good experience !! Glad to return !!
Loved it. The food was delicious and portions were generous. It was VERY family friendly and our waitress (Gabby) was efficient and so sweet. We can't wait to go back and my picky 13 year old son said it's his new favorite restaurant.
The food was great as always, but the service is lacking, possibly due to trying to get quality help during the pandemic. My wife requested an alternative to the spinach and the waitress indicated that the only option was the listed sides. However, when our meals arrived our friend had green beans with her crab cakes. When we questioned about substituting green beans for spinach, the waitress was curt and said that green beans are portioned for the crab cakes only. NOT what we would expect from this establishment! This service and prior problems may prevent us from future visits.
The food on Thanksgiving was tasty. Gabby, our server, was very nice and accomodating, she gets an A. The set up could be improved on. Some of the signs were missing and people did not seem to know what the food was. Too many staff was running around and seemed unorganized, though they were all very pleasant. There were empty food trays and I had to ask for the rolls, they were gone. The gravy area was really messy, though the man at the carving station was extremely nice. I would have covered the rolls and the desserts, they were just left out in the open and need more dessert choices then just pie. I do think the decor is very nice. I would recommend the place because the food was good, but re-think the Thanksgiving presentation.
Food was delicious and the service was prompt. Enjoyable experience
Excellent Thanksgiving meal, thank you!
Oh boy! What a disapoointment. I made a reservation a few weeks in advance. When we got to the restaurant they wanted to seat us at a table right in front of the buffet. I asked if there was a different one. The person helping us asked her manager and I overheard - is it a reservation?? Yes it was! The manager said they had no where else to seat us except an almost equally poor very small table by the front door. It was better that having everyone's bottom in our face while eating so we took it. I noticed in the other room there were at least 6 tables that remained empty the entire time we were there. The ambiance was solumn, no music that I recall though the TV were on and not loud to be heard. The carving station was manned by a person that used his hands to put the meat on your plate and then hiked up his pants with the same gloved hand. The gravy was almost empty, not attempt to refill it was made. The spoons in front of the chafing dishes were dirty, filled with food as was the plate is rested on. I never say anyone come to clearn up the area. The gravy was extremely salty as was the stuffing. The apple pie tasted like it was frozen and not completely defrosted. It was so sweet it was inedible. No one came by to get any after dinner drinks or coffee order. It was amateur night at CJ's. I know they don't usually have a buffet for dinner however the things that were wrong were common sense if anyone has ever entertained. At least the Ceasar salad, mashed potatoes, salmon and pumpkin pie was good.
It was nice to be able to get a reservation at this fine of a restaurant in the last week before Thanksgiving, although I don’t recall actually seeing the price for Thanksgiving dinner on the OpenTable site.
Seems like there weren’t many waiters around to refill drinks, and bigger tables for people with reservations way after ours just sat vacant while we sat at a smaller table right by the buffet line. And some TVs were tuned to nothing. The food was really good, I should have given it five stars; we just weren’t that hungry ( oops).
I would like to come back and try this restaurant again for a regular meal, as I’ve heard good things about the McLoones restaurants for many years now.
Several very good experiences here. I love the vegan portobello mushroom entree. The staff are pleasant and serve us quickly. Highly recommended.
Pot roast, garlic mashed potatoes and carrots were perfectly prepared and had the feeling of eating at grandma’s.
We were asked to sit at a high top table in the bar. That normally equates to a lot noise. Surprisingly, it wasn’t. My husband and I were able to have a conversation.
Our server was sweet and attentive.
You have to have the homemade bbq chips and dip. The chips are served as a side to some dishes. They are crispy, sweet and tangy.
I loved the bbq chicken with mashed potatoes and carrots. The portion was the right size. My husband had a wedge salad with chicken He enjoyed it!
We finished our meal with a piece of carrot cake.
We will be back
Was very accommodating and food was delicious.
If you like German food, CJ McLoone's now has the best Executive Chef. Butch is originally from the Hofbrauhaus that was in Atlantic Highlands. Since we cannot go there anymore, I am left trying to find German food that will match that. Everything else is subpar. We give every other place a chance -- but it never lives up. When I found out that Butch was serving his Octoberfest at CJ McLoone's, I made reservations immediately. My favorites are his potato pancakes, sauerbraten, spatzel and red cabbage. Please keep this menu all year long!!
On Tuesdays there is a burger special - Buy one, get the second one for $5. Burgers are very good. Right now there's also a 1/2 price appetizer schedule before 6:30 pm. We had the best server ever - her name is Jaz. She made is a fun night and she's a great server.
Had 6:30 reservations we were seated right away but by 7:00 no one still had acknowledged our existence to the point that we did not even get water from bus boy. We then decided to get up
And leave. Very disappointed.
First time there. Food and service was excellent. Really nice place. We will be back.
Enjoyed a great lunch with friends I hadn’t seen in a while. Food was very good & reasonably priced. Wait-staff was exceptional. Thank you.
We made a reservation for outside “dining”. We didn’t know that the outdoor dining consisted of 4 beach tables in a parking lot Other than that , I had a great salad
Booked a reservation for Monday Sept 6th at 5pm - for 4 guests-received confirmation txt , reminder txt and a rate your experience txt and guess what - showed up and they were closed— please work out the bug in your system- all worked out - went nearby and had a nice meal and drinks
Excellent service, good food, relaxing atmosphere all made for an enjoyable evening.
Staff was over worked, ordered salad with shrimp, but got chicken. we asked for straws, never came. The table looked dirty, but might have been residue from cleaning solution, after staff cleaned it again, still looked dirty.
Pot roast meal was delicious.
Not busy at all and the service was the worst. And it wasn't a matter of not enough help. We will forgive that as we are grateful to the people that are willing to work. There were only 3 tables and 1 was done the entire time and were just talking. We ordered fried calamari, the burger, and chicken tacos. They were good but came out all wrong. They brought us fried zucchini instead of calamari. They never brought ketchup for the burger or the fries and the tacos had alot of onions. And they didn't bring his second drink, my soda after 2 glasses of wine until we did finally get to ask again, or ketchup ever. We never saw the waitress but four times. Drink order, meal order, the time we asked again and for the check and then hovered as I was counting my cash. She came back real quick for that. Oh, and she was screaming at the chef or somebody in the back alot! I do believe half the screwups were his as she had it right on the bill but she could have been quicker to check on things and fix them we didn't even point out the missing fries. Extremely disappointed as the food did taste good. I got up and found ketchup myself for my husband's burger and even with onions I had to pull off of them the tacos were tasty.
Nothing to really complain about. Food was good; service was good and restaurant is clean
Good burgers and drinks. Only negative is one burger was supposed to be well done. The kitchen didn’t put the “signal” on it so we had to find out by biting into what we got. Not a huge thing. The poor server was annoyed for sure.
My entree did not come out until everyone else was done eating. The explanation was another server picked up the food and they had to make it again. I understand stuff happens but they never came to the table to explain or apologize and seemes yo not even notice it had not arrived until we told them. Oh, amd I’m diabetic so this is more than an inconvenience. Fortunately I have learned to not tale my insulin intip the food arrives or this would have
Great selection of food! The ambience was fun! The food was fresh and delicious! Drinks were on point! The manager Craig went beyond to take care of all the customers! Our waitress was on point, friendly, and described the food in details ! Clean! Everyone was helpful! Would highly recommend it! Food yummy
Great food, great drinks, and awesome service when you request Gabby! She is fantastic. The Manager, Craig, runs a tight ship. Well done team.
Great food and service. Great menu selection too. Thank you.
The waitresses were very kind to my elderly mother and that was greatly appreciated.
Our server, Gabby, was outstanding! Her friendliness, helpfulness and overall service was first class! She truly enhanced our dining experience. The food was good and the menu choices were plentiful.
We chose to dine outdoors since the weather was spectacular that evening. What we did not like is that the kitchen staff chose to hang out outside the back door of the restaurant so that they can smoke and talk. The smell of cigarette smoke wafting toward our table and the loud conversation were distressing to us and very inconsiderate! Management seems to turn a blind eye toward this behavior.
After our meal, we used the restrooms. They were disgusting! This is another management failure. Had we chosen to use the restroom before being seated, we would have passed on dining here.
This place could be really great if they had professional and caring management. Maybe our server Gabby should become the trainer for a new management team.
