We had a lunch reservation for a party of 7 after a college graduation. It’s was not crowded as would be expected for a afternoon . The server was excellent, very attentive and checked in often and the food was cooked perfectly. The small plates were very shareable and the entrees were large. There was also a very large dessert menu to choose from. The only complaints were some of the party couldn’t finish their dishes because of the amount of food.

hostess at front check in was confused. we booked a table for six and she somehow thought we were a party of only three. we appreciate the prompt seating however, and service is very good. food has been very good the two times we have visited and we will return. thank you!

Excellent service, food & drinks. This is our go-to before a show at Count Basie! So easy to make a reservation and most times you don't really need it (recommended for a party over 6 people though).

Fried calamari was mostly tentacle and fried peppers...not worth it. Overall not really impressed with the food. There are other restaurants with the same type of food that are better quality.

Had the pork chop special. The chop was moist and tender, potatoes were tasty, the haricot verts were tasteless. Wife had Caesar Salad w/chicken. Lettuce was fine, but the chicken was dry and tasteless.

Our server, Mario, was amazing. Food came out quick and hot. Big portions. Quesadilla appetizer is enough for a full meal! Tollhouse Cookie Pie is the best dessert ever. Will be back soon!

I came here from out of the country and brought my Aunt who is 95 years old. The restaurant was very clean. We were served promptly. The server was very good, personable and attentive to our table. I will definitely be back when I am in NJ again!

Went for all day Sunday happy hour. They’ve changed it completely. Specific drinks discounted and extremely limited food menu for just a dollar to three dollars less than full priced menu. Used to be so much better. Food was ok, not terrific. Service was great. Probably won’t be back for happy hour. Regular menu food is usually pretty good.

Not the servers fault but it took forever for some our meals to come out. We sat with 3 of 5 meals for almost 20 mins before the other 2 came out. Not sure what issue was but would have been better to just explain that they were having issues.

We felt the service very slow and not the most friendly server. Last time we had the best server and commented how much fun we had. The room wasn't that crowded, didn't clear when we were done. Lots of empty tables not cleared. Makes you feel "dirty". Will try again/

We waited 1.5 hours for our food and they still messed up the order. They also forgot one of our apps. They comped the apps after we complained, but honestly, if there was something going on, they should have let us know so we could have adjusted our expectations. The food just wasn’t worth waiting that long for.

This was our first time in CJ because we usually go to Pier Village, Rum Runner, and Asbury Park. The food was great and priced right for a Mothers Day Brunch. We sat on the booth but the table was small to move for 3/4 people, the blinds were a little dusty. But overall, I will definitely recommend.

As always, CJ’s is a secret pleasure. It is really a favored haunt for a local crowd, with friendly wait staff who remember you , and a relaxed atmosphere where you can watch the game or have a great date night. Ample, easy and free parking , are a welcomed change. But the “secret” may be that the food is genuinely spectacular. In addition to upscale “comfort” food , there are frequently wonderful specials like the Trout Almondine I had last night. Inventive seasonal cocktails and an affordable extensive wine list insure a great meal , and a great time. Always a “go to” for us!

We enjoyed a casual Saturday night dinner of fish and chips and burgers. Warm and friendly atmosphere. People kept running into their friends and neighbors. We were able to watch the Mets game from our high top table in the bar area. There is also a separate dining room. This is definitely a place to keep on the list of frequent favorites.

We really wanted to love our trip to CJ McLoone's (since we love other McLoone's!) but unfortunately the server forgot to put in our kid's meal so it came out later than ours and my husband found a hair in his crab cake so we had to send it back. :( The manager was very nice and did come over to check on us and see if she could help with anything but we declined for time.

We always love CJa and are regular customers. Tonight we were surprised by the rude server assigned to our table. Very unlike the great service we usually had. We chalked it up to the server having a very bad day and still left her a generous tip.
