Local farm to plate concept with reasonable menu of creatively crafted apps and entrees. A favorite for great food and beer in a comfortable environment.
We always love going to Civic. Their standard menu fare is updated seasonally to reflect seasonal flavors and available local ingredients. The daily chef's specials are always delicious - the hardest part of the dining experience is picking from so many awesome food choices! They have a nice selection of craft beer and creative drinks that I highly recommend. Don't miss this spot!
Always great at Civic Kitchen.
This is one of our “ go to” restaurants after a long day at work and no one wants to cook. Menu is across board, so if you want a burger, dinner salad or full entree they have it covered.
Great drinks and great food. Love to sit out on the deck in the warmer weather. Menu has a lot of great options for drinks, apps, salads, sandwiches, and main dishes.
Friendly local atmosphere with superior pub style food
Excellent food and service.
We recommend Civic all the time. Great food, beer list, and drinks.
Everything was just "ok". Limited wine by the glass. Bland/blah food. Server was nice enough but must have asked us "how's everything tasting" no fewer than 5x. Coconut cake was the highlight of the meal. No need to go back. Very quaint inside, however.
I have eaten at Civic many times in the past. We always enjoy it there. The food is very good with a good selection of craft cocktails. We would suggest that they become more efficient in delivering drinks orders to the table in a more timely manner. We saw others in the dining room impatiently waiting for their cocktail
Order as well. We ordered a bottle of wine that did not arrive until we completed our dinner we ordered it just as our meal arrived. When it was delivered the bottle had already been uncorked. We had never encountered that before at a restaurant. We refused the bottle as our meal
Was completed. The server said we would not be charged. Then the hostess came to the table to tell
Us that the order was placed 5 minutes before it arrived and they would have to waste the bottle. This was out of line. Not good to argue with a customer and don’t deliver a bottle that has not been opened at the table.
Would not have known to try this place without the recommendation of a local - from the outside, it looks like an old farmhouse; on the inside, the first floor is a cute little restaurant with food and drink far more interesting and clever than you'd ever imagine driving past. It's farm to table - in a great part of central MA where, indeed, there are lots of wonderful purveyors. A half-dozen craft beers on tap. The burger was good, but the swordfish, the steak and the salads were very good to great. Side dishes were a bonus - a cous cous, a few potato choices, some mushrooms. We had a very good and enjoyable meal in what felt like a hidden place. Will return
An unusually poor evening. The food was nowhere near the usual quality. Some food was cold and undercooked while the ribs were as dry and tough as leather. they had not even removed any of the membrane from them A Pasta dish was so overlooked it was ridiculous. Tasted as though it had been boiled all day and mushy! Going to chalk this up to a slow holiday weekend
We decided to order apps so we could try a bunch of things.. tomato bisque, hazelnut Bibb salad, crostini, mussels and the chicken wings. Unfortunately there was nothing that was particularly good..everything was just ok. Not bad, but just not memorable.. The bisque was maybe a tad better than ok...probably won’t be back unless there’s music or some other reason to return.
Whether you like fish or meat, our dishes were delicious: swordfish and beef both seasoned and cooked to the perfection. Ambiance favorable to friendly discussion. Civic Kitchen and Drink is a sure choice for a nice dinner!
Grilled cheese on thick sourdough bread and tomato soup, perfect fall cozy dinner.
Civic continues to be a neighborhood gem worth going out of your way to visit if you're not nearby. Great food, great staff, nice beer menu, good drinks, nice patio in warm weather, nice view over a golf course, and really pleasant atmosphere. We love it, and go often. A winner!
Had a great time with friends.
It was a casual location with a simple menu. My husband had grilled cheese sandwich with corn chowder. Looked scrumptious and he said it hit the spot. I had the dinner special which was a grilled salmon with kale, beets, and pine nuts. It was delicious. If we lived in the area I we would stop by again.
A good experience all around
We had a delicious meal. Had an off the menu appetizer since the chef found some mushrooms. Was delicious. All local ingredients. Food was fantastic. Service great as we had several waiters for our table.
On the golf course so great view. I have sat outside on the huge patio before when open. It is wonderful.
Great food every time we go which is once a month. Staff is always very nice.
In short, never disappoints! Everything was fresh an delicious!
Nice location with some good local eats! Would venture there again!
We struggle to find a patio and one that doesn’t face a highway and this place was perfect! Lovely scenery on the golf course, great tasing food, friendly service and were open on a holiday.
After waitress spilled my glass of wine on me from which I had had 2 sips, she presented me the final check without removing the glass of wine that I was never able to drink!
They are horrible with food allergies. In Massachusetts there are laws regarding required training for food allergies and the waitress clearly had not completed it. She couldn't answer questions. But what was even worse is that the chef didn't even come out when we asked to have her ask the chef about certain things. At most restaurants, when someone says they have a food allergy, the chef always comes out and directly talks to the customer. I guess this one couldn't be bothered. We also didn't get answers that made us comfortable. The waitress clearly didn't even know what an allergen statement on an ingredient label is. It was not crowded so it's not like they were really busy. Our waitress only had 2 other tables. We won't be going back.
Was excited to have a lobster roll. But it was quite a small portion on a large roll. French fries were not hot, a pet peeve of mine. This is a very common thing unfortunately everywhere. My husband short rib dinner was delish, but a tad over salted, especially the gravy. And he loves his salt... I had a fabulous short rib dinner in the winter with mushrooms served on pappardelle. I hope they bring this back.
Delicious food and Great service!
Ellen was great and the food was delicious!
birthday party with our older kids...$10 lobsta rolls on Tuesday, what a deal. Great grass fed hamburger... good beer selection. On a golf course... we'll be going back.
Sat on the deck outside - great view, surrounded by golf course. Good atmosphere and variety in menu. Ordered the chef's special flatbread, fish tacos, and fried chicken sandwich at our table, and all were great! Decent selection of beers, didn't look at wine selections. Lots of different groups there - families, couples, friend groups...casual dress (shorts, tshirt) seems fine. Will definitely be back.
Great place if you play golf. Right on the course.
Disappointed in the hamburger. We have been at the Civic several times for hamburgers especially on Monday nights. This week the burger tasted awful. Asked the waitress if the source of the burger changed, she did not know. Was going to ask the chef but never did.
Also when did the 50% off on appetizers end on Mondays? Did not see any communication on it.
This place was so awesome and accommodating. The table was ready right when we got there and our waiter was attentive and super friendly. The drinks and food were fantastic and they even made my fiancé’s birthday extra special by singing happy birthday. I can’t thank them enough for a special evening.
We love the Civic Kitchen but were disappointed in the short rib selection. It was not worth the price and the other version is so much better. I would never get this again until they change it back to the winter version. It would be nice to serve some fruit or mint sprig in the Sangaria. It was good but no garnish. The rest of our food was wonderful. As usual
Wow, first time there. Loved everything we ordered.
Best beer list in town - love the local breweries represented - Cold Harbor, Jack’s Abby, ...
Thank you Kelsey for a great night of service!
The best place in Westborough to meet up with friends!
Food was very good but surprisingly expensive for a nice gastro pub in Westboro. 4 adults=4 entrees with 2 appetizers, each person had 2 alcoholic beverages = $200 plus bill. Atmosphere on a Saturday night -low key.
Outdoor patio closes at dusk- which was disappointing. Wish it were open for after dinner drinks.
This was our first visit. Our expectations were exceeded! Not a huge menu however the food was AMAZING!!! Not one complaint. I got the meatball, sausage over homemade pasta, my husband for a burger and said it’s the best he’s ever had! We will definitely be returning!
