Civic Kitchen and Drink
I had a great lunch at Civic. The food and atmosphere was wonderful. I liked all the drink selections and the pleasant staff
I had the calamari for a starter. Not the best that I have had there. It was a bit soggy.
Had the seafood special. Shrimp was not good. Tasteless. Scallops were also tasteless.
Salmon chunks were excellent - could not have been tastier - as was the sauce.
I have had specials here that were fabulous before particularly a pistachio crusted Cod special.
Ambiance was reasonable. Difficult as the decor/color scheme is not warm. Clean - but not warm.
Cold when seated by the window when one gets there early at this time of year. I kept my down jacket on during dinner.
Beer selection is always good.
Service could not have been better.
The Civic Kitchen was on my radar for a bit as I am always looking to try / find new places in the area. The restaurant had good reviews, but confess a part of me wondered how good would any restaurant be that was tied to a golf course.
Turns out the restaurant clearly stands on its own. Enjoyed a terrific dinner with three work colleagues. Farm to table concept. Appreciated that all of the items showed some creativity. Three different entrees between the four of us. Everyone very pleased with their selections.
Surprised at the number of people there on a rainy Tuesday evening in March. Service was excellent. Sincerely attentive without being too much. Good pacing.
Spacious deck with seating in season. The obvious “go to” spot when available. Regular nights of live music, we were told.
Happy to finally visit. Definitely now on my list as a place to introduce to my wife and friends in the near future.
Very pleasant, good fresh food, my friend would like more gluten free dessert options!
The bar was busy but servers were great. We got a drink first then sat and it was very comfortable and easy to have conversation. Our server was excellent and helpful. She gave us time and gave great suggestions on our choices. We both plan to go back again. I’m looking forward to trying something new. I had the salmon special which was excellent. But other options looked great to me also. My friend had chicken with a sweet potato risotto. I tried the risotto and it was delish. I don’t eat meat besides seafood but she said it was excellent.
Really good burger and great service! Very nice inside with a cozy but open feel.
Since being introduced, Civic Kitchen is our new favorite restaurant! We’ve had drinks, apps, dinner and dessert each time we’ve been and everything has been delicious! You won’t be disappointed.
delicious food, creative drinks, great wait staff! Coming back!
Have been to the restaurant a few times before. Meal choices seem to be going more trendy; not what I want to order. Burgers are the best in my area, but sometimes I want a bigger meal that’s simple. All you need is a good protein and fresh veggies without all the fanfare of too much spices and sauces. Will go there when in the mood for a burger.
Wife and I went there for Valentine's Day dinner. The specials were excellent.
Great menu, great service, (Josh was awesome!) love fresh ingredients farm to table!
Going back again!
drinks are great but slow to arrive - bunch of youthful employees walking in circles ignoring customers while adult servers disappear and are never seen from again...
Our first time there and we were NOT disappointed. The Waiter was informative, knowledgeable when we inquired about ingredients and patient when we needed time to decide. Most places rush you in and out. We were not. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal we chose and the creative cocktails that are above expectations.
So good, we brought home the leftovers and were anticipating enjoying the food again. Didn't disappoint. HIGHLY RECOMMEND
We'll be back
Great place. Awesome beer. To die for OG Burger!!
We can always count on a terrific “comfort food” meal at civic. Excellent service, great cocktails and fresh local fare.
We had a great evening with friends. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. I would highly recommend.
We've been here many times and the food never disappoints. Tonight the appetizer special, Maryland crab cakes, was excellent. The current winter menu is very good overall.
New Year’s Eve. All three of our meals were delicious. Our waiter was very attentive, accommodating & friendly. Very enjoyable evening.
New Years Eve dinner date. Great food, drinks and service. Ambience was kind of boring. Would definitely go back though.
The shrimp and risotto was excellent, and the atmosphere was quiet. Staff very friendly and attentive. Very enjoyable dinner with my hubby
We chose to go here as we had heard good things about Civic but had never tried it. Unfortunately, I think they may have been having an “off” night.
We were seated by a young man host who took us to the table but then said the menus would be coming. Rather odd to not have them as you are seated. They did arrive shortly by the waitress who then took our drink order.
She returned shortly with only the non-alcoholic beverage we ordered and then came back with the adult beverages.
She put down a mixed drink, an unopened can of beer without offering a glass and then started to open a bottle of wine. She struggled with the cork and then broke the cork (which I get happens) explained she had a bad key, attempted to push the remainder of the cork into the bottle and pour only to realize the cork was blocking it now.
She then left and then came back with a new bottle which she opened and poured without a tasting.
We had ordered an appetizer and two salads and the salads came out followed by the appetizer but no plates for anyone to use. The runner explained she would return with the plates. When she did not return and the waitress returned with our bottle of wine, I again asked for plates which she then brought.
Having not finished our salads or appetizer, our dinners arrived.
While our meals were tasty, I felt we were being rushed with our food.
Overall the food was tasty, I will recommend the Brussels Nut salad. It was very tasty but if you look at the pictures and descriptions of their menu items, it had absolutely no sweet potato crisps. The Caesar salad was ok for an unconstructed salad. The Burrata was tasty but for a shared appetizer, and six people at the table, it only had 2 pieces of crostini.
The dinners were all like by the guests. The Chicken Limone was very good and the Chicken Michelangelo was better when ordered without the mushrooms.
Unfortunately for us it wasn’t what we had hoped for.
Le Civic Hamburger était parfait et le gâteau au chocolat aussi !
Dinner was amazing!
Visited for the first time to meet a friend for holiday. The ambiance was cozy and the server was very attentive. We split an appetizer, side and sandwich which was very good. I will definitely go back.
Good selection on menu and nice ambiance in bar area. Slow service due to a function in the main dining area. Will try again on a regular night.
Tim, our server, was very attentive without be obtrusive. He was easy-going and not pushy when asking for our order. I dined with a friend who I hadn't seen in a while. We were busy catching up and did not have time to look at the menu. Tim was very understanding. The Cesar Salad was appropriately portioned but somewhat bland. The brisket sandwich was generously portioned and had a nice smoking taste but, in my estimation could have been a bit more tangy. The bill was a tad higher than I would have expected but then I tipped generously since Tim earned it well.
It was $3 taco night. Two of us shared 6 tacos. Excellent variety and wonderful taste. Highly recommend.
Server Hannah was quite professional, attentive and helpful. Good menu. Comfortable vibe. Plenty of space between tables. Good ambiance. Everyone enjoyed their meals, although one guest ordered an Impossible Burger which, when delivered was cool to the touch, and needed to be sent back. That is always unfortunate as it causes imbalance in a party of five, but the staff was courteous, reasonable and replaced it (at no charge) and tried to remedy quickly, but we had largely completed our meals before his replacement arrived. Our friend is very relaxed and was quite calm about it, but it was an unfortunate mis-play by the kitchen. It would not deter us from returning and think they handled the fumble well.
The noise level was pretty high, which there really isn't anything you can do about that given the open dining room. We just happened to be sitting next to a really loud guy.
Food is generally good but drinks are way overpriced. Ordered a Cosmo, the special they had and it wasn't even filled to the top. This is the second time that the Cosmo was not even to the top of the glass.
For $10, that is way too much for 2/3 of a glass. Two drinks cost more than all the other meals individually and the drinks were not good, unfortunately.
The service was good and everyone liked their meal.
Great burgers. Wings are awesome. Did I say great burgers. The best
An absolute gem. Went to dinner with husband and a couple friends and we all loved every part of our meal. From the fish and chips to the squash scallop risotto, the steak to the Bolognese Pasta. Would definitely venture back
The new fall/wintwr menu is much better than the previous menu. Both of us had the seafood casserole and it was excellent. Service was excellent.
My wife and I dine here on occasion when we are both tired after a long work day and neither wants to cook. We have been going here for a few years now, mostly on a Monday night when it is half off burger night. On our most recent visit, it was more noisy than usual as we were seated toward the end of the dining room where with a large gathering was going on. We still enjoyed our meals and, because it was a Wednesday night, were pleasantly surprised that it was half off burger night! Guess we will be dining on Wednesday night now! Our burgers were cooked to our liking and the fries are the tastiest around.
The food was fantastic, very fresh and you could tell effort was put into the preparation. Flavors were excellent. Beverage selection was well rounded. Ambience is a cool open dining room with a farmhouse feel.
The new fall/winter 2019 menu is a winner.
Really delicious food and excellent service from Erin. The brussel sprouts salad was amazing, as was the burger.
Food was not as good as it had been in past visits. Drinks are overpriced and appetizer portions are skimpy for the price. Service was friendly and helpful.
Exceptional food and service, we are sure to return!
Friendly wait staff and delicious food!! Will definitely visit again when we are in the area!
