Looked for a quick brunch bite before a movie and we were pleasantly surprised. Smoked cheddar grits with sausage, smoked pork belly, and egg was spectacular. I wasn't expecting as good from a chain. I'd go back.
Great vibe. Lovely service and amazing Bavarian stuffed French toast. Best I ever had!!!
We love City Works! Service was super slow even though it wasn't too crowded and it required asking for things multiple times, but otherwise it was a great experience.
Always a good choice. Great beer and menu selection.
We were told there were issues with the kitchen staff and training. I can accept that but when people who came half an hour before we did and were feed and done, I tend to think something else was up (like our ticket got lost and no one wanted to admit it).
I normally love coming here for a quick bite. However, our waitress seemed entirely unsure of her job. She failed to bring my friends drink after she asked what they wanted. Then had to re-take our order after realizing they were out of an item, and then came back to confirm it for a 3rd time. We waited over 45 minutes, when our food finally came out it was cold and underwhelming. With all the other restaurants popping up in Arsenal Yards, I hope that City Works steps it up.
We saw outside, so very quiet. Indoors it was loud with all the TVs on though. Food wonderful, served hot, service, which sometimes outside at places can be iffy, was excellent here, with waitress checking in several times during the meal, and the manager came around once too to check in. Really good addition to the Arsenal area.
Food and service were both great
I continue to be sad about no filet sliders
Initally we were seated at a booth even though we had high top reservations There was a private function just inside the door and the noise level was really loud We were moved to a high top after one opened up The food was delicious but still disappointed that they don’t have the filet sliders
Good spot for lunch outside, great friendly staff.
Good was very flavorful and good. Waitstaff friendly and informative enjoyed dining there
Love the beer, and the service was great. We sat outside and it was very nice. The food was not great.
Food as always was fabulous
I am still missing the filet sliders Someone should convince corporate to let you put the filet in a different roll
Food is good. Ambience is excellent. Will visit again
Server Gail was awesome despite being very busy
Food was great We had pretzel bites, burger and salmon
So sad that there is still no filet sliders
Great meal and excellent cosmos from the bar! Comfortable seating, nice staff!
This was our first time at City Works, and we will certainly be returning. There were many too many tempting options, but we enjoyed our meal very much. Even though it was lunch we split a chocolate chip cookie with ice cream and chocolate sauce, and asked for it to be undercooked. It was the best dessert I've had all year, I'll be ordering it every time I come.
We appreciated the booth seating, relative isolation made us feel safe.
The waitperson and her shadow were lovely, and especially getting us that luscious cookie to order.
The food is not great. Definitely a spot better suited for beer the second time my SO’s was undercooked. That said, the drinks were great (even though the drink service was slow due to low staffing).
Great night overall! We had the Queso dip as an appetizer, and then the fried chicken sandwich and the City Works burger. Everything was delicious! I has the Rosè on tap and it was so good! Amazing service!
Really Good food for the price. Kids had a good time too.
Good Food, excellently prepared and served. Great follow up from waitstaff.
The service and the food was way better when they first open. Now it’s just crap all around.
Great beer selection and food menu. Classier then most beer venues. Love the booths and all tables well spaced.
If you're looking for a good sports bar in Watertown/Allston/ Brighton, good food and wide choice of beers, this is the place. Plenty of tv's, large beer hall but also outside seating, and semicircular booths facing tv wall.
Ribs, fish tacos, burgers and spicy baked beans all very good. Take a pass on the brussels sprouts (undercooked, should be grilled instead). Had the Cloud Candy IPA - excellent.
Excellent brunch options. Got there too early on Sunday for alcoholic beverages to be available (but the options looked awesome). Looked like great selection of beers on draft. Hope they do well; will be looking to come back
Creative, but limited entree menu, portions were small but the energy/vibe was great for group we had
Good food and service. I little noisy with a lot of big screen TV distractions.
Great dinner with friends Love how open it is as well as the many TVs The beer selection is amazing and the on tap wine is great
mixed our drinks and the hamburger wasn't that good.
you can smell the kitchen even though we are far away.
asked for high seats and got standard seat.
The first time we dined here, the restaurant had just opened. It was great and we were excited to return. We dined here the other night and I found that the menu seemed to have less choices. Our waitress was great, but the restaurant did not seem as clean, especially the ladies room. I was disappointed and probably won’t be returning.
Great place. Nice selection of beer. Will definitely return.
Great place for outside dining. Nice big indoors as well, ceilings are super high and very open so inside would be OK too. Good beer selection, many local craft beers. Food was nice, and it was pretty quiet and made for a very nice evening with a pretty private conversation.
For a newly open location maybe had high hopes. The service was great Deven was nice and friendly and couldn't have been better as a waitress.
All the issues we had were with the food, the bowl of chili tasted burnt like it was stilling for a while at the bottom of the pot before it was warmed up and served. The butger which was ordered for medium came out medium rare to rare and cold.
The buffalo shrimp entree of which came with four shrimp and came out cold so for $4 per shrimp my feeling should come out of the kitchen hot to warm not like they were sitting in the kitchen for 20 minutes. The alcohol drinks were watered down and what makes it seem more watered down is they are served in 10 oz glasses.
Seems like City Works is basing all their success on the beer menu and not focusing on all aspects of the quality coming from the kitchen.
Empty inside, which was kind of nice. Food and service fine. Nothing special. Just didn’t have much energy, though not much happening on a Monday evening.
The quality of City Works food has deteriorated rapidly in the last two months. Our party of 3 were all disappointed with our meals: Fries were cold, Tex-Mex Mac and Cheese was missing several ingredients, corn salad was mushy and tasteless. Our server was very pleasant and attentive.
Given this is our second visit with mediocre food, we won't like be back. Too bad as the place was great when it first opened.
Great tasty food. Outstanding beer selections. Good service.
Food is marvelous and creatively presented. The servers are outstanding!
Our server was the best! Food and price are a match! Good value for good food!
Fun atmosphere and great selection of beer. Menu is basic but burgers and mac/cheese selections were great.
Went for brunch. The food was bland and the donuts were raw on the inside. Our server left us for a good 30 mins while we were done eating and the plates were stacked on the table.
