6 of us went for dinner and were extremely pleased. JoJo our server was great. He was probably the best server we had in years anywhere.
Definitely recommend City Works.
We made reservations a week in advance for a high top table, and we were given a a small table in the back corner of the restaurant. They told us we would have to wait one hour outside in the cold if we wanted a high top. 10 minutes after we were seated, two high tops opened up and we were told we couldn’t move. The ambience was fair, reminded me more of a fast food restaurant with lots of TVs. The food portions were small for the price - for $8, we ordered the popcorn chicken and we received 10 very very small bite size, crispy, dry pieces of chicken that tasted terrible. Beer selection was decent, didn’t have much of a seasonal selection, and didn’t quite have the 90 beers they claimed to have had on tap. Wait staff was friendly and attentive. I definitely wouldn’t go out of my way to return to this restaurant.
Great drinks, I think the Mac n cheese meals could be a little better. Size of portion was good!
City Works is one of our favorite go to places. Consistently great service and food--Thank you, Abdul, for making our large play-off game party run so smoothly!
Great service and the food was excellent.
We picked City Works for the close proximity to the Christmas Village. We were pleasantly surprised with the brunch menu. They did a great job with the Covid restrictions ensuring everyone was safe. Food was awesome!!
Great service, food did not take long to come out, and the atmosphere was amazing. My mother had a great 50th birthday!
Steelers game!! Great atmosphere
I really enjoyed the beer selection. The service was outstanding. I will definitely be returning. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Great review for lunch meetings in downtown Pittsburgh. Great ambiance and menu.
Dinner was very good and the service at the bar high top was top notch.
Great combination of upscale and casual. You would be comfortable in casual or full business attire. Food and service were fantastic!
Steelers Sunday!
We have recently been spending time in Pittsburgh and City Works has become our go to. It has something for all of us. We order something different each time and everything has always been delicious. Service always good and I feel very comfortable in this covid environment eating at this restaurant. It delivers good value! My daughter is a student at a college near by and she often orders City Works from grub hub, the bacon cheeseburger is one of her favorite burgers.
My family goes to City Works- Pittsburgh every time we go to visit our daughter who attends a local University. There are over 60 tap beers, great wine selection, plenty of tv’s to check out the games and the food is fairly priced. Menu includes something for the whole family. Our server was Naya who was phenomenal. Staff is pleasant and accommodating
Amazing!! 10/10 would reccomend
Food was great, service was great and the drinks were good. We would definitely come again.
Great place for reasonable prices for a business team meeting
My last experience at City Works was not what it usually is. I made reservations for a high top table a week prior to showing yet we were not seated immediately and it was not at a high top. We arrived prior to happy hour ending but by the time the table was cleaned, we were seated, and after the long wait for our server, we missed it. The service was slow and drinks were brought out at the same time as our food. I've been here many times before but this was a big turn off from returning.
That Nashville hot chicken wrap was hotter than hell
City Works is very convenient to my workplace and glad to make a reservation. We had a great burger and side salad. I was disappointed soup/chili and salad is no longer on the menu. Will definitely go back again.
This was my first time eating in a restaurant since the pandemic started and it was great! I wasn’t thinking and walked into the restaurant before putting my mask on and the hostess kindly reminded me I needed a face covering before I entered any further. All tables were spread apart at suggested lengths and we were given single serve items to combat germs (salt and pepper packets, hot sauce in a small cup). Our server was friendly and wore a mask. Overall very satisfied and would feel comfortable coming back here soon!
Although the ribs were cooked perfectly. They were so salty I could only eat a few of them. The corn and the beans were outstanding. Service was fantastic as was the cocktails.
it was an overall an outstanding experience but the menu was a little small and not a lot of variety
The service was “ok” at best. It’s wasn’t personal, but our food was out before our drinks.... waters were out don’t get me wrong but come on it’s COVID.... the place wasn’t poppin.
Waiter was excellent, the food was really good, could use a few more gluten free and vegetarian options, but what we had was good. Patio furniture needs replaced, I was sitting pretty low on the "sofa". It was also a little loud, maybe more plants for next year. Overall very happy with the experience.
We had our first experience at City Works on 9/26/20 and I was immediately impressed with the atmosphere. There was a unique beer list and I can personally recommend the long Island ice tea which was made to perfection. The food was delicious other than with the wait, I didn't want to send mine back. I had ordered the bacon cheeseburger which should have been bloody or extremely pink and was well done. The bacon isn't really bacon..it is fried ham. It was good though, just would have been better if prepared the way I asked. Our server, Abdul, was terrible! He continued to walk by us after we were seated, I had to ask him if we could place a drink order, I stopped him to place an order of appetizers and our meal and refills..he never once checked on us or asked if we needed anything. At one point he cleared a table, dropped silverware and proceeded to kick it across the floor. I will say he was kind when we forced him to communicate with us, but he isn't meant to be in the service industry (I am a former server myself). Unfortunately for him we tip based on service and he didn't deserve the 20% that a good server would have earned. In conclusion, I recommend this establishment, but make sure Abdul is not your waitstaff for the evening.
The service was a little slower than what I expected. It even took 10 minutes to receive our beers once we ordered them.
Overall was pretty good with good atmosphere.. Was just disappointed with the uncooked beignet..
Great experience. Nice restaurant and I loved the location. It was nice to visit the city and go somewhere a little different. Will definitely go there again
Our server was very, very good. He was attentive and helpful!
Had an excellent experience, wait staff were efficient, drinks were good and the food was delicious.
Overpriced bar food. The ambiance is almost contradictory... The furnishings and decor inside are pretty, yet there are TVs everywhere like it’s buffalo wild wings. Got seated and tried combing through the shotty menu, tried ordering the nicest thing I saw (the salmon) only to be told they were out. I go through the menu for another 5 minutes and try ordering the pork chop... only to be told they are out of that as well. Isn’t that something to be mentioned when we first are seated ?? And if not then, then maybe when I already order one item that is out of stock ??? I ended up getting sliders and my boyfriend a chicken wrap and a beer. Check was $60 something... completely not worth it in my opinion.
The food was good, but my first choice and my friend's was not available. So we both settled for the fried chicken sandwich which was okay.
I did not enjoy the food & the waitress was very slow
Loved that they have so many gluten free options on the brunch menu! Portions were huge and we definitely took advantage of the brunch drink menu. The outdoor patio was comfortable and service was quick and friendly!
Good food, felt confident in the cleaning. Good separation of people.
Courteous, not rushed.
Great selection of beers. The Shakshuka is so good. The grits were perfect. Plus the patio I'd dog friendly!!
A great server made the experience very nice!
The food was good but the service was extremely slow. It took forever to get drinks and appetizers.
