City Works - Pittsburgh
The service was absolutely horrible. One order was incorrect. The food was barely adequate. Chicken sandwich was dry and plain. The tenderloin sliders were the same. The Kentucky hot wrap was swimming in the sauce. I rarely write reviews but this truly was a memorable experience because of how awful it was.
Great beer selection and menu options! City Works has a great happy hour. One of my favorite spots to catch up with friends, especially before a show. Something for everyone here as far as drinks and food options!
Excellent food, service, and had a great time.
Loved it! My burger was fab and the cranberry mojito was perfect! Can't wait to go back.
We love coming to City Works because of the service we receive. Any waiter or waitress we’ve had has been absolutely amazing!
I have a gluten allergy, and my meal contained gluten. I got very sick from it. I would not recommended this place to anyone with an allergy!! They do not pay attention enough to care.
Some choices are overpriced and some addition were not able such as cream cheese
City Works was great. The atmosphere and food was excellent. Everything came out quick even tho it was really busy and service was good.
Great for watching any sports with many huge TVs and a loud crowd perfect for cheering
The smoked wings were AWESOME!! Friendly service as well! Lots of beer choices, would definitely go again!!
Good place to meet before a show in the Cultural District.
Great environment and the employees are nice and there were lots of TV’s with games on and the food was good.
Food prices are high, presumably to offset beer prices. Spent $75 on 2 burgers and 5 drinks.
This place is more of a sports bar/craft beer joint than a restaurant. There were six of us and none of us enjoyed our food, and surprisingly we were served a beer which was flat. Our server was pleasant though, and knew the craft beer menu well. I wouldn't go there to eat again, but I'd maybe visit the bar.
This was finally my first visit to City Works after being told it's a cool spot by my friends for years. It is a sports bar that doesn't necessarily feel like a sports bar. While there are plenty of TVs within a nice, open layout so they are visible from just about anywhere, it has a bit more of a refined dining vibe than most bars. They have a great beer selection, but the highlight was the food. They serve what you would call "bar food" (burgers sandwiches, ribs, wings, etc.) but it was very high quality and delicious. I'm excited to go back.
Great food and service. We were seated right away.
It was so nice and food was excellent.
Excellent service and food!
Mixed review results. Big room, a real sports ambiance with large Flat TV's everywhere you look, easy to find, good service. Food was pretty good - Fish and chips, burgers, salads but not a food menu i'd describe as spectacular. Duck and cheese nachos, small servings of pretzel balls and cheese, spicy hamburger.... Where are the fired wings with many flavors of sauce, a big and festive plate of nachos to share, BBQ chicken and mashed potatoes, Chicken tenders or pizza. For a craft Beer place, and the Craft Beer selection is comprehensive, i was expecting more comfort foods or a super bowl menu.
Pre theater. Great short ribs and service
Great selection of beers, wines and drinks. Good food selection with a pub food genre. Great service. Good sports bar/pub ambiance. Fairly large crowd, so noise level was up a bit. Recommend City Works.
There was a confusing situation with a $20.00 off coupon that was emailed to me and some stipulations that needed to be completed to put the coupon into effect. This was not described clearly and therefore I hadn’t completed the process. The general manager was extremely accommodating with this matter and took off the $20.00 anyway. First class place that we do frequent on a regular basis and will continue to be a customer!
Our server Ashley was very attentive! Great beer selection, and I was surprised the happy hour selection was still pretty big! I got the Nashville hot chicken wrap, which was delicious and not overly filling. My wife and our friends also really enjoyed their burgers :) a beautiful restaurant all around for a decent price.
Food was ok (not great). The cost is high than what you get. The services was not fast enough
Slow service. Wasn’t that busy.
Such a cool location and atmosphere!
Food was great and waiter was great. We will be back.
First time eating at City Works. I had taken my team for a thank you lunch and everyone was pleased with the variety of selections on the menu. Everyone including myself enjoyed our lunch. Our waiter Keith was good and stop by just enough times to make sure we were okay.
Excellent place downtown for beer, drinks, sports and good food.
The server was not the swiftest (did not tell us one of the appetizers was 86'd) and she was a little slow. It is very loud, and the booths were not comfortable. This is a huge sports bar.
Watched the football games there and was great. Great food and service and an atmosphere that you don’t get anywhere else.
Took the kids after skating at PPG place. It was the perfect one-two punch. It was a good, vibrant place where nobody minded that we were all decked out in wet skating clothes. But it felt "fancy" for the kids.
It was a LITTLE loud. And my fillet sandwich wasn't GREAT. But neither of those gripes pull me back from being very happy with our experience.
Food and beer were great! Service however was not. No one came over to say hello and get our drinks for 15 minutes. The manager noticed and asked if anyone got our drinks and then as soon as we answered no someone appeared. Everything else was great though. Amazing beer selection!
City Works has a great varied menu. The mussels are absolutely delicious, so are the filet sliders and the shrimp tacos. If you love beer, they have a huge list of beers, some of which are limited availability and rotate. Overall, the service is good and the prices are fair. This place can get busy, so I definitely recommend making a reservation.
Great food. Nice staff. Very slow service. It’s a good place to hang out if you have the time. Took us, party of 3, over 2 hours from the time we sat to the time we paid our bill. We ordered apps and sandwiches.
Love this place. My favorite is that big pretzel but they only have it during happy hour!
They handle seating really efficiently. Big open space. Lots of beers on tap. Server was a bit overwhelmed. Food was basic but good for parties with diverse tastes. A safe play for friend outing
Hostess station was absolute chaos. Did not appreciate receiving a message that I failed to show for reservation. Everyone enjoyed their meal but $17.00 for 2 mini sliders with 10 French fries is excessive, even for Pittsburgh. Dana was an excellent Server in personality and we appreciated that. All appetizers were not put in, so we missed out, as did City Works on the tab. We would return, but with a different expectation.
We enjoyed the food and the crafted cocktail selection. I enjoyed the the vast variety of local brews they have on tap. My wife and I will definitely go back.
It was “okay.” We did get a call a few minutes out from our seating time to ask if we were still coming - a nice surprise and held our table 15 minutes after reservation time.
Our waitress greeted fairly quick, but her attention to us continued to dwindle over time. We had to flag down another waitress for silverware and TWO different people for drink refills. Food was average. Allot plenty of time of going here prior to a show or event - at least 90 minutes.
Overall, I wouldn’t say I’d never go back, but it’s going to be quite some time if i ever do.
