The food and drinks were quite good. The noise and lame pop dance videos during the dinner hour kind of wrecked the experience. Those would be more appropriate for later in the night.
We were sat in a fair amount of time. But we sat and we sat and we sat. I ended up going back up to the host stand to ask if a server was eventually going to help us. Soon after a server arrived. She was one of many that had just walked by us before turning their heads the opposite way when passing our booth. After that service was what should be expected. Food was good.
We got seated 20 mins. before our reservation, which was great, our server, Ben was super friendly very attentive and very good at his job! We really enjoyed his service! The food was really good bar food, we had cheese curds, deep fried pickles, flatbread, salads and the stuffed peppers were delicious! All very good! Nice place to grab a bite and have some beverages with friends & family!
I would recommend this restaurant. Very good food.
Beers we're good. Excellent service. Food was good... There are more things I want to try so will be back.
It took 15 or more minutes to get a server. This is after I had go to the hostess and tell her we never were greeted by our server. When I made the reservation and said it was my daughter’s 18 birthday. They acknowledged it when we checked in. But no other special treatment was given. I am not sure if they do anything but I thought maybe they would have done something for her.
The food was slow to come out. And place was maybe half full at 4pm on a Sunday.
Fairly standard sports bar food and vibe. Server wasn't super friendly, and service was slower than I normally experience at restaurants like this. Cocktails were overpriced (even for downtown), particularly given the small size. Nothing wrong with the food--it was good, actually. This restaurant just didn't stand out to me for any particular reason, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't eat there again--I totally would, particularly since they do 10% off your bill when you're attending an Orpheum show that night.
Waited 30 min for waters. Took 45 min to get our beers. Waiter forgot to put in our order, had to track him down (wasn’t busy). Flatbread pizza was super dry and flaky- the worst I’ve ever had. Was an unfortunate date night.
The reason to come to this restaurant is for the beer. The food is decent -- not great, and not bad. Good-tasting bar food, but nothing memorable. Service was friendly and attentive.
It took 30 minutes before our waitress brought our drinks (just cokes), and then she said that the food was taking at least 30 minutes. We didn't have time to wait any longer because we were going to a play. So our waitress charged us $7 for the 3 sodas we had had for 2 minutes. Won't be returning. Really put a damper on our night.
Went to Cityworks for Alan Parsons Project concert, first off place is huge, lot's of TV's, service was very good, Total bill for two people with drinks 70.00, recommend for a good time
Fish tacos were great. The rest of the food was average at best. The location if you are looking to grab something to eat before a show.
It was so loud! The food was expensive and not good. And lastly, it took about 20 minutes for a server to come over and greet us.
Service was super slow. Made the reservation and said it was my birthday which the hostess acknowledged but then nothing special was done after that.
Lizzy greeted us at the door and immediately provided us with excellent service. She was great.
Sarah was our server, and she took good care of us from the moment we sat down. Thanks so much!
There was another person (a Latino gentleman) who brought our food but more importantly, he made sure we were comfortable and content.
Thanks to you all for providing us with a wonderful all-around experience!
It was surprisingly energetic for a routine Tuesday evening. Given that this was our 1st restaurant visit EVER in the city of Minneapolis, I'd say we are off to a GREAT start. Thanks to Amanda as well as to the whole team for taking great care of us!!
Long wait for mediocre food, but great atmosphere to watch sports.
The food was great, the service was less than stellar. That is not to say that our server wasn’t friendly or that we didn’t get our food timely, it was that our server was consistently absent. We were served our food and drinks by four different individuals who were not our server. We had to retrieve our own flatware and napkins, we had to ask for appetizer plates, had to flag down a member of the staff just to settle our bill. If it were not for that annoyance we would have given a much better review.
It was my first time there and found a new staple of places to go. I loved everything about it. Staff is friendly and attentive but not overbearing.
Service was great, just not impressed with the food
I've been many times and always enjoy it. Normally great food and service. This visit was a little different. We let our server know we had a show to catch at 7:30pm (our reservation was at 5:45pm) She said we had plenty of time. We ordered and it took over 50min to get our dinner. Our server apologized and said the kitchen was running slow. She assured us the food would be out shortly and that she would bring our bill before the food arrived- so we could just leave as soon as we were done eating. The food arrived and we still have no bill. She finally brought the bill just as we were finishing. We quickly gave our credit card and she never stopped back to pick it up. We waited and waited and then had to hunt down another server to run our card making us late to our event.
City Works is conveniently located and they have a fantastic variety of draft beer. Good selection of burgers along with entrees. The salmon was exceptionally good. Service was fast and friendly, even thought it was a busy Friday evening.
Good food and good tap beer selection. Been there twice and both times service has been slow even though the place was half filled. Friendly server though.
Convenient location, good food, awesome beer selection!
Poor service. Cheese curds had no cheese. Fries weren’t great. Loud. Very average.
Food was okay, mostly just bar food. Good place for watching games and having drinks.
Terrible service. Good luck if you want a second drink
Great prices; good menu; wait staff is excellent. A great way to start off an evening downtown.
My daughter and I had dinner here on a mo day night. We sat on the patio which us at street level. Service was prompt and the waitstaff courteous. We both ordered the same meal 'Pan Seared Salmon'. The presentation was delightful , as was the taste . The portions were good sized. I will definitely return !
Service meh. Food meh.
City Works serves a purpose - a quick and convenient bite before an event at Target center, or to watch a game on one of their 20 or so huge screens. Definitely not a place I would go unless one of those two situations factored in to my plan.
Went here for dinner before a show at the orpheum. Great beer selection. Food was good and reasonably priced. With 90 beers on tap, great options for all, and you can build your own 4 beer flights. Great time.
Food was fantastic! From the chopped salad to the ribs.
First time there. Very impressed with beer and food selection. LOTS of beers available for every taste. Food great and service excellent. Pre-Lynx game...great place.
We ate here recently before a Twins game. The bar was busy, but the restaurant had multiple tables open while we dined. Food and drink options were great. Our server was very attentive until she took our order, and then she dropped off. All of us enjoyed our food, but having to track down the server for drink refills, check, etc was not ideal. The quality and selection of the food and drink outweighed the poor service, so we will go back, but will make sure we give ourselves plenty of time if it happens to be before an event.
Great service! The pork belly bar bites melt in your mouth. BBQ Ribs are some of the best I’ve had in the Twin Cities and the chilly is full of flavor, rich in meat chunks
Horrible service. We were not even given menus when we sat down. We had to ask for them. The service awful. We were out of drinks the entire time.
The majority of the tables were open and there had to have been 5 waiters/ waitresses. Service was so slow I never got offered a second beer and I asked 3 employees for a check because no one was coming to our table. When our actual waiter finally came he was rude. The food was fine, nothing outstanding, and reasonably priced. They do have a very good beer menu which I appreciated.
After making an Open Table reservation before a show we arrived before our reservation time. The hostess said that there would be a wait...So much for the reservation. Then when seats opened in the bar we asked if we could sit in the bar. After being told we could and sat in the bar and reminded the staff that we had the Open Table reservation and got a yeah OK that is no problem. Sever took our order never to be seen again until we got up and he must have thought we were dining and dashing because then came running with ticket in hand. Por service average at best food. Won't be back.
Reservation not found in their system. They were able to quickly accommodate us. But 3 of us got sick 30 minutes after finishing fish tacos. 🤢
