City Works - Minneapolis
City Works Minneapolis focuses on craft beer, wine on tap, crafted cocktails, and contemporary American cuisine.
Located in Mayo Clinic Square at the corner of Hennepin and 7th St, the restaurant showcases a craft beer program of 90 local and global brews on draft, with an equally matched food menu.
We are thrilled to be joining the best restaurants in downtown Minneapolis and be part of a wonderful community.
We had a lot of food restrictions in our group and they were so understanding and accommodating!
Hi there, I'm glad you had a great time at City Works and that we were able to accommodate you! Come back again soon! :) - Staley

90+ beer selections...I tried the Cider Flight. It was amazing. The service was literally the best service I have EVER experienced in Minneapolis! Very attentive, gave great food recommendations and was so friendly. The food was outstanding and dessert was great! Will definitely be going back!
Hi Jackie, I'm glad you had a great time at City Works! We look forward to seeing you again soon! :) - Staley
Good food and service. Had the BBQ chicken flatbread. Very tasty. Our table also ordered chicken and short rib tacos which were good. The cranberry mojito was excellent.
Our first visit and all 6 of us were pleased with our food and the choices available. My brother-in-law's drink was wrong but they quickly fixed that. We were going to a concert and they made sure we were out in time. I had the Ahi Tuna Salad. OH MY! DELICIOUS! My husband and brother-in-law had the Tenderloin Sliders. Plates were clean! We will definitely return.
Hi Julianne, I'm glad you had a great time at City Works! We look forward to seeing you again soon! :) - Staley
Best cheescurds in Minneapolis!!! Beer is great. Reservations online are cake. Go. You won’t be disappointed.
Hi Marie, I'm glad you're enjoying City Works! Come back again soon! - Staley
We chose City Works last minute, but we were seated right away. The food was excellent, but the service was a little slow. We enjoyed our time regardless. We would visit again and recommend to others.

I love this restaurant's beer list and menu offerings.
Made reservation around noon for 3:15 table. Got there and took quite a few minutes to get a table (not busy). Getting beverages and water fairly quick, took order right after receiving drinks. Took quite a long time to get food. Then my plate was incorrect item. They replaced quickly and took care of the bill on it, which was good. Overall, staff needs to step up a bit on the customer service, but good food & drink.

Food and service were excellent! A good value for a downtown restaurant.
Went specifically for impossible burgers and they didn’t have them available.
Hi there, unfortunately the Impossible Burger is experiencing a nationwide shortage affecting many restaurants, including ours. We hope to have it available again soon, and would love for you to stop by once it's back! - Staley
Great atmosphere and service. Just a little too noisy, it was hard hearing my partner.
It was my second time there. Easy going bar with excellent food, lots of beers on draft and TV screens, and a well rewarding happy hour menu! Highly recommended!
We had a table of 8. It started off with our waitress telling us she was "new". Which is totally great as we've all been that person. But follow, took 25 mins to get our beverages. App never came out until all food came out. Food itself took 40 mins and was cold when got to our table. Plus half our table got their meals 20 mins after the other first half received. We had to call our waitress back over to take our second round of beverage order, she only took my order and then took off versus asking the rest of the table if/what they wanted another. She never even asked how food was. Earlier she had asked how we wanted to checks then to at the end of our meal, had to come back over to ask who ordered what (which is totally fine) but then to have everyones tab still in correct. We just paid it how she had it - we didn't even bother fixing it. But we won't be back.

This was our first experience at City Works, and we enjoyed it. It was a busy, warm spring day so the windows were accordioned open. Our waiter was friendly and fun. The food was good, but not hot - hence only 4 stars for the food. Everyone at the table tried something different and everyone liked their food. Good music was playing in the background. Great line up of tap beer options! I'd come here just that. Overall, I'm glad we tried this restaurant, would come back, and would recommend to others.
Food was outstanding! An amazing selection of beers....90 different ones on tap! Our server was great, it was his first day out of training and he was wonderful!
Hi Amanda, I'm so glad you had a great time at City Works! Come back again soon! - Staley
Delicious brunch, fast service. Quiet on a Saturday - not very busy. The bloody Mary was great!
Hi Kayla, I'm glad you had a nice time at City Works! Come back again soon! :) - Staley
Good lunch meeting spot. Food was price appropriate for meal ordered.
Hi Mako, I'm glad you had a nice time at City Works! Come back again soon! :) - Staley
We made a reservation for 6:00 and STILL had to wait over 15 minutes for our table (with 2 kids with us). Server was amazing and food was pretty good. Just not overly impressed with the fact that our reservation meant nothing by the time we got there. AND we were late for our 7:00 showtime due to that fact.
Hi Ariel, I'm sorry to hear about your experience at City Works. I will let our management team know about your wait time—that's unacceptable and I'm sorry it was part of your visit to City Works. We take your feedback seriously and appreciate you taking the time to let us know about your City Works experience. We hope you will give us another shot in the future! - Staley
Food and beer selection was great! Our server was right on top of things and making sure that my wine glass didn't get empty! Relaxed atmosphere, family friendly.
It took forever to get our food. When it came it was lukewarm. My hamburger which I have asked to have cooked medium rare was charred on the edges and well done.
Way too loud.

First time visiting Citi Works. Great beer selection and the food was very good. Service was outstanding.
Hi David, I'm glad you had a nice time at City Works! Come back again soon! :) - Staley
Very attentive service during happy hour. We had a great server. Food is average but they’ve got a huge beer selection!
Beers were not available, the pretzel bites tasted 2-days stale after 10 minutes and the waitress messed up many drink/sides/receipts.
Service was very poor. Took over 40 minutes to get our drinks delivered to us. A group of 4 at a table next to us got up and left. Another table next to us requested a new server, as did we, with no result. We were told we needed to “order soon before it got too busy.” The restaurant was already full. Very disappointing for what has been a go-to spot before Timberwolves games in the last. Well look for other options in the future.
Amazing happy hour deals—best things in menu for only $4 each.
The bar is huge and all the TV's above it are really fun. Great tall table seating out from the bar with a lot of room between tables so you don't feel cramped and keeps noise level down. Food was great!
The food and drinks were quite good. The noise and lame pop dance videos during the dinner hour kind of wrecked the experience. Those would be more appropriate for later in the night.
We were sat in a fair amount of time. But we sat and we sat and we sat. I ended up going back up to the host stand to ask if a server was eventually going to help us. Soon after a server arrived. She was one of many that had just walked by us before turning their heads the opposite way when passing our booth. After that service was what should be expected. Food was good.
We got seated 20 mins. before our reservation, which was great, our server, Ben was super friendly very attentive and very good at his job! We really enjoyed his service! The food was really good bar food, we had cheese curds, deep fried pickles, flatbread, salads and the stuffed peppers were delicious! All very good! Nice place to grab a bite and have some beverages with friends & family!
Great place to watch sports!
I would recommend this restaurant. Very good food.
Beers we're good. Excellent service. Food was good... There are more things I want to try so will be back.
It took 15 or more minutes to get a server. This is after I had go to the hostess and tell her we never were greeted by our server. When I made the reservation and said it was my daughter’s 18 birthday. They acknowledged it when we checked in. But no other special treatment was given. I am not sure if they do anything but I thought maybe they would have done something for her.
The food was slow to come out. And place was maybe half full at 4pm on a Sunday.

Fairly standard sports bar food and vibe. Server wasn't super friendly, and service was slower than I normally experience at restaurants like this. Cocktails were overpriced (even for downtown), particularly given the small size. Nothing wrong with the food--it was good, actually. This restaurant just didn't stand out to me for any particular reason, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't eat there again--I totally would, particularly since they do 10% off your bill when you're attending an Orpheum show that night.
Waited 30 min for waters. Took 45 min to get our beers. Waiter forgot to put in our order, had to track him down (wasn’t busy). Flatbread pizza was super dry and flaky- the worst I’ve ever had. Was an unfortunate date night.

The reason to come to this restaurant is for the beer. The food is decent -- not great, and not bad. Good-tasting bar food, but nothing memorable. Service was friendly and attentive.
It took 30 minutes before our waitress brought our drinks (just cokes), and then she said that the food was taking at least 30 minutes. We didn't have time to wait any longer because we were going to a play. So our waitress charged us $7 for the 3 sodas we had had for 2 minutes. Won't be returning. Really put a damper on our night.

Went to Cityworks for Alan Parsons Project concert, first off place is huge, lot's of TV's, service was very good, Total bill for two people with drinks 70.00, recommend for a good time
Fish tacos were great. The rest of the food was average at best. The location if you are looking to grab something to eat before a show.
