The Barrel Room, our elegant restaurant and tasting room at City Winery, provides a relaxing and candlelit ambiance where diners can enjoy wine on tap made just next door. City Winery is the only fully functioning winery in New York City, but we also offer a fine dining menu with options for a full dinner or small plates to accompany a few glasses of our house made wine. In the Barrel Room our wine is poured straight from the barrel into your glass with no added preservatives or extra sulfates, giving it a taste that cannot be replicated. Join us for drinks and cheese, a full romantic dinner, or lunch with friends; whatever your plans The Barrel Room has something to offer. You can even take home a bottle of our wine to enjoy later!

potato pancakes was greasy , ordered capers and lox, 15 minutes later served food and told they were out of capers, placed reeked of stale wine, service was poor and slow

The dishes were not delivered with something detailed on the menu, so we tried to get the attention of the waiters to bring it. No waiter came over, even though the restaurant was empty; they were chatting. We had to call to someone to ask, and they took an unreasonably long time to return. And, they didn't even bring the correct item. Shockingly bad service for a slow time. The food was okay, but the starter's portion was way too small for the price.

The City winery is a great venue and has for the most part a nice and enthusiastic staff that is willing to help, assist, or accommodate patrons. I liked the place over all. The food was not what I expected. The humus was average, the pitas were stale. The Duck tacos had no taste and prepared like pulled pork. the Lamb was prepared like a steak and if I was blind folded for a tasting challenge, I would have thought it was a steak. It did not taste like lamb what so ever. I finished my meal with an espresso and Crème Brulee, which was not creamy at all but had more of a cottage cheese consistency. I was disappointed buy the food, but the staff was nothing but nice and accommodating. The vibe was very chill and the music was perfect.

Food was mediocre, especially brunch fried chicken and waffles. Chicken had two wing pieces and two regular size drumsticks; hardly enough for the price and no white meat. Waffles were to have tasso in them; if they did it was untasteable. Finally, syrup was not offered in plentiful way, only one small tin cup per meal. Price/Value/Taste ratio was way off. Not going here again for brunch.

We went for an early brunch. The restaurant was quiet, service was great, nice ambiance, but food was very sub-par. I had the Spinach Benedicte and my husband had the Salmon Benedicte, so can only judge those dishes. Would probably give it another chance, but would not recommend it.

Went went for a concert, good food at the venue Most true concert venues that aren't night clubs in Manhattan... the food is pricey and eh. It was good here!!

Terrible. Had our rehearsal dinner @ City Winery in Chicago and we absolutely LOVED it. Couldn't wait to go to the one in NYC - MAJOR LET DOWN. Service sucked, pasta was uncooked. I've heard of al-dente, this was unbareably hard pasta. Tough to chew through. Wine tasted watered down, Cheese plate was $20 for practically NOTHING. huge waste of time...

Food was good. Was going to a concert next door. Most of the items on the menu are available at City Winery. Food came out very quick (faster than expected, but not at all rushed). The group had the fried tofu, duck and a fish or crabcake. All were very good.

The seating options were not ideal--we were unable to get a table. It was too noisy. Not a lot of food options. Last time I ate there was for lunch @3 years ago and had a better memory of what to expect.

What a great restaurant! The food was excellent, with a lot of good choices. (Outstanding desserts! Try the s'mores!) It is a winery, so they offer their own varietals, which are delicious. The place is cozy without being too small. One of the best features is their excellent service. The staff knows the menu and the wines (of course) and are very attentive. Our waiter was Ricky, and he is one of the best waiters we've ever had - friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. We will be sure to go back the next time we're in New York!

The food here keeps getting better and better. Excellent red snapper (and a very generous portion), squid ink pasta loaded with lobster, and a lamb shoulder special cooked just right and very tasty. All kinds of wine options, from those made on the premises to a full list. Friendly, informative service. And there's often the music in the next room!

The eggs for brunch was very overdone. I did tell the waiter that I wasn’t super happy and he took a glass of wine off the bill. But I thought they were going to do tastings or flights of wine. I would pass. There are much better brunch places out there.

The atmosphere was nice. Only complaint was the air system was a little loud when running. Our server was very nice and checked on us often. The entres we're delicious. We had the short ribs and roasted chicken. The dessert choice was the only thing we didn't like and they didn't seem to be a good value for what we got.

We went to City Wine Barrel to taste wine. It was a blast super fun service and fun atmosphere. A must do when in the city.
