City Winery Nashville Barrel Room Restaurant & Wine Bar
City Winery has created a cuisine that borrows from Mediterranean history steeped in Italian, French, Spanish and Middle-Eastern cultures; regions that have been pairing simple and wholesome food with wine for centuries. Our chefs create menus based on classic European dishes that take on their own interpretations while staying true to our philosophy of wine inspired, regionally influenced & locally sourced dishes.
Our wines are exceptional: Grapes are imported from renowned regions around the country, then crushed and aged on site. Wines are poured by the glass or bottle, with many available on tap.
We offer Happy Hour for the wine lover! 1/2 price bottles - wine glasses - apps & flatbreads! Can't beat that. Monday - Friday, 5-7PM.

Great food and atmosphere!! Enjoyed the drinks and the food was amazing!
Service was great. Food was tasty. It was my sister's bachelorette party and we initially wanted to sit outside but tables for larger parties (7 or more) are directly in the sun, at that time of day (12pm), so we moved inside where there was live music. It was a little loud because we were directly in front of the performer.. and I will say, it did feel weird to have my back to the performance (that's the way the tables are set up), but the music was indeed lovely, the manager or hostess Morgan, was very accommodating and kind, and our server was on point every step of the way through to coffee and checks.
Overall I recommend this location, these are just some notes on my personal experience.
Thanks City Winery.
Great food and beautiful interior, but the sever was overwhelmed and didn’t have enough help to efficiently manage the number of tables he was assigned to. My order was wrong even though I specifically asked about an allergen. They were print to fix it but then I never got silverware. Had to use my sisters. Could have been better in so many ways.
We ended up leaving after appetizers because the service
Up to this point was terrible and then we actually got our food. The calamari was inedible. Cold and unable to chew threw. I was excited to go and highly disappointed. We left and went to another restaurant for dinner.
Just know that this is not where you go for great food in Nashville. It’s a cool place especially when you’re attending a music event. The food is just OK. it isn’t horrible. Thous is a place you go for the music. A great place overall.
Meal food was great. Dessert for Mothers Day was a serious let down. Could tell it was frozen food set out.
We went for dinner with family it sat in my stomach like a rock. It was the chicken & orzo dish. The wine flight looked cool but I had to force it down - just not good, maybe a step up from table wine. We didn’t take in a show but skip dinner/wine.
Hi Kim, we're terribly sorry to hear that your meal did not settle well with you. It is our goal that all guests leave fully satisfied, and we apologize if we missed the mark during your visit. We take pride in the wines that we produce and serve here at City Winery, so we encourage you to consider coming back in and giving us another try. Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback, and we hope to see you back soon.
Nice place for brunch! Excellent services and food quality! It would be a great location for larger parties. We sat inside but lovely outdoor seating as well! Highly recommend!!!!
Primary disappointment: service. Our food arrived quickly but it was nearly 30 minutes before my beer and my wife’s wine arrived. 30 minutes. The barkeep served walkins over seated guests. Unforgiveable. The food was ‘ok”. Pricey, for appetizers. On 2 previous visits the entrees were mediocre and the service was abysmal. Be a long time before I consider visiting again.
Wine was great. Waiter was fine. The pasta on the new menu was atrocious — waiter recommended and we got one of each, both were inedible. Space was cool.
I read their was live music but this was a very boring atmosphere for our girls dinner. Some of the choices were good. I got a pasta dish and it had no flavor
I took my wife to City Winery for our second anniversary on Monday April 29, 2019. We pulled in to the valet parking where we were met promptly and respectfully. After handling the payment, we went inside to see about our reservation. The woman at the reception podium greeted us kindly and walked us to the table of our liking. We were then greeted promptly by our server, Daniel, who gave us plenty of time to mull over the menu. Since the last time we were at City Winery, the menu had changed, and so the food items we sought to order were no longer available. However - to our delight - the food on the menu that Daniel recommend we try was outstanding to say the least. Not to mention that the entire experience was for a relatively cost effective price.
I would absolutely recommend City Winery as an experience for all to enjoy.
City Winery has a very cool vibe with some great options on the menu. HOWEVER, our service was absolutely terrible. Our server ignored us, we never got refills on water or drinks, we had to hunt him down to get our check and to top it all off he missed part of my order, I reminded him twice and still never got it. There was no apology, there was no trying to make it right, his response was "Ok I'll just take it off the bill then." Growing up in the restaurant business, I understand how things can get crazy busy and you can get slammed but I truly haven't had an experience that upset me this much in years.
Easter Brunch! Ugh Terrible experience. First off when we got there they were like oh did you get our voicemail that this is 50.00 Brunch and you can’t order off regular menu blah blah blah...
No you never left me a voicemail but ok we agree. Pay our 100 bucks and head to the dining room.
We grab a seat and at least we had a great waiter. He did his best to make up for the lack of food. He said oh sorry they want to wrap the buffet up at 2 I’d hurry up and get what you want! No fresh fruit, dessert or salad left! By the way they took our 1:30 reservation over a week ahead!!!! Charged us 20 bucks each for bottomless Mimosa-had to slam them quick. Terrible dining experience for the price!
Hi Andrea, Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your experience. Loved Easter Brunch!!! Great atmosphere, music and while experience.
It was a brunch date, my date and I thoroughly enjoyed the food, plus you can't go wrong with bottomless mimosas. The whole ambiance was radiant but cozy at the same time. Having that jazz band was an added bonus.
Have always had a good experience at City Winery so we decided to try their Easter Brunch. Food was great. Music was nice. Tables were tight, as always. Service was awful. Took 30 minutes and three visits to the manager to even have a waiter visit our table. Ordered the bottomless mimosas, which took another 20 minutes to arrive. Could not get them refilled even once. Never got a check for the mimosas (meal was prepaid), so just left some cash on the table and walked out.
While Easter Brunch was a disappointment, we'll continue to return for shows. Have always had a good experience in previous visits.
The menu is limited. The staff was very mice. The. Devore is very nice clean
Arrived early before a show to grab some dinner, what a pleasant experience!! They have an amazing happy hour so worked out perfectly. Great food, great service and a comfortable environment. THANKS!!
Our server Nick was very helpful and gave positive input on meal selections when asked. Very polite staff and clean establishment. Overall our experience here was pleasant and exactly what we wanted.
Food was great. Service qas mediocre at best. A group of 10 for dinner 5 of us ordered flights. It took the entire meal before all 5 of us received our flight. Waitress would disappear so ordering a 2nd drink was not even possible.
Hi Tracy, Thank you for coming in and leaving us your honest feedback. While we love hearing that you enjoyed the food, we're disheartened that you were let down by the service you received. We strive to give all of our guests the best overall experience, and we sincerely apologize if we dropped the ball. We hope to have you dine with us again soon! Thank you.
What a beautiful setting out on the patio! Wine menu was extensive and our wine was very good. The menu is fairly limited but has some excellent offerings. We loved our food. Shared some plates. Logan, our server, was top notch! Our group of 5 ladies had a delightful time!
The manager came over and apologized about the steaks coming out cold and credited them, very loud and unable to hear while celebrating my friend’s 50th. The restaurant was understaffed and a disappointment. Will never return or recommend.
Hi there, Thank you for the review. Please accept our most sincere apology for any issues you had regarding your meal and the noise level in our restaurant. We do our best to keep the noise at a level that is comfortable for everyone, and we are sorry if this negatively effected your evening in any way. Your feedback is extremely valuable to us, as it allows us to better understand where improvements can be made. We would be pleased to have you dine with us again in the future. Thank you!
Excellent service and delicious food.
My husband and I enjoyed dining at the barrel room.
A relaxing evening with friends
The restaurant is nice. But the concert venue is very crowded, with tables stuffed together, and sometimes you can't see well (people right in front of you blocking the view). But, they do have good concerts.
Great Service. Food is good also.
Valet parking is so helpful. Nice
pleasent atmosphere. For a first
time visit. I would recommend the
City Winery to my friends also. I
will be back to dine there again.
The service was INCREDIBLE. It was my sister's birthday and they made her feel so special the entire time. Food was amazing and we will definitely be back!
We showed up an hour before our reservation since we were in the area. Kitchen didn’t open until 5 so only food available was charcuterie board. Since I have a love for wine and cheese we did a the red wine flight and tour of cheese and salami. $20 for a wine flight, 5 different types. All bad!! I could barely even drink them. A wine tasting was not available to sample before we buy... that sucked. The food- the cheese board only had 3 types of cheese all flavored and no basics like a cheddar or Brie. The meats were good but only about 5 pieces which was not a lot since the combo for both was $30.
I was disappointed and will not be back... not to mention, the area this place was in was sketchy!
There were 12 people in the place and it took 20 minutes to get a drink. When the food finally came it had been sitting out a while. My eggs were crusted over and my wife's burger was dried out.
Other than the food and service the place was great.
That's probably why there were only 12 people in there at 1:00 on Sunday afternoon
Awesome venue to catch a live act. The ambiance was intimate if you needed it to be, or comfortable, depending on your "date". Food was not restaurant chain which was great as it matched the overall setting and everything was very different but tasty - we shared everything at the table!
The only suggestion was the way the sound was mixed. Very heavy bass and vocals had to fight through it to be heard. Drummer's cymbals did not come through but the horn section rocked it!!
Unique venue withe great food and service. The music venue is intimate without a bad seat.
Assuming they get their service down eventually, I’d recommend it.
Restaurant was very accommodating for our group of 12! Food was great, server was great, and drinks were great. It was a little further from downtown than I was expecting but it was a cool place that I’d visit again when in Nashville.
I had read about City Winery and wanted to try it; unfortunately, it was disappointing. We arrived for a late dinner and the staff had pretty much 'checked out' at that point. The valet, in particular, was not helpful. Even though there were few tracks filled when we were there, the space was very noisy. The food was ok, but not as good as I thought it would be.
Hi Kate, Thank you for dining with us at City Winery! Please accept our apologies regarding your disappointment in the noise level and the service you received. We value guest feedback like yours, as it helps us to continue to improve your dining experience. I would love the opportunity to further discuss your visit. Please reach out to us directly.
City Winery hosted our bachelorette party of 11 women! They took all challenges within stride and were welcoming to all of our different palettes. The were so kind and brought a bottle of champagne to the table on the house! They also provided the bride with a bottle of wine for her and her soon to be husband to open on their wedding day. The staff was so sweet and we went back for brunch the next day! Thank you so much for going above and beyond and making our bride feel so special!!
Slow service 30 minutes for apps, had to ask for forks. Waiter had to many tables, his to wait to often for assistance, no one checking tables in dining room food attractive but no WOW in the flavor, deserts just bland except for the choc moose. To many large parties coming through restaurant area hollering and yelling not conducive for a nice dining atmosphere put up a wall to separate the two. Did not live up to expectations will look for another wine based restaurant in Nashville.
Hi Mike, Thank you for taking the time to recount your experience. We sincerely apologize for the lack of attentiveness you received while dining in our Barrel Room Restaurant. We do our best to provide the best hospitality possible for both small and large groups, and it sounds like we could've done a better job. Please feel free to reach out to us directly.
When we sat down, one of our party immediately left to wash her hands. The server kept pushing us to order drinks before she returned. Literally we had been at table a second. And, she wanted to tell us about specials without the full party. Most of the food was ok, not good, not great, but ok. The rest of the food was mediocre. The soup special was lukewarm and flavorless. Uneatable. The prosciutto on my salad was thick and couldn't be cut with a fork and the Bibb lettuce was drowning in dressing. Horrible. Finally, they were out of both the wine and the whiskey we selected to drink.
Hi Deborah, We are terribly sorry to hear about your experience. We take pride in our service and the food we serve, and it is clear we missed the mark here. Please know that your feedback has been reviewed by our management team and we are taking necessary action to ensure this does not happen again. It is our mission to ensure each guest leaves completely satisfied, and we cannot apologize enough for letting you down. We appreciate the feedback, have a great day!
Beautiful venue and atmosphere in the restaurant.
Parking is odd. Valet or paid parking but it’s right by the homeless shelter.
The wine flight I ordered was good. We ordered the beet tahini appetizer and the cheese plate which was very good.
The main course was very plain. Chicken with root vegetables. I won’t go back for the food but I will for a glass of wine and charcuterie tray.
