City Winery Nashville Barrel Room Restaurant & Wine Bar
City Winery has created a cuisine that borrows from Mediterranean history steeped in Italian, French, Spanish and Middle-Eastern cultures; regions that have been pairing simple and wholesome food with wine for centuries. Our chefs create menus based on classic European dishes that take on their own interpretations while staying true to our philosophy of wine inspired, regionally influenced & locally sourced dishes.
Our wines are exceptional: Grapes are imported from renowned regions around the country, then crushed and aged on site. Wines are poured by the glass or bottle, with many available on tap.
We offer Happy Hour for the wine lover! 1/2 price bottles - wine glasses - apps & flatbreads! Can't beat that. Monday - Friday, 5-7PM.

Unfortunately, we had to wait 20 minutes for a server to greet our table.
Food was good and wait staff friendly. One bartender and took way too long to get a glass of wine
Interesting place full of events and wine tasting to come back for. Speaking of their wine- their Chardonnaywas so good I even bought a bottle to take home. The trout I had was not as good as the same dish at Cafe Intermezzo. No brocolinni and the quinoa was a little tough. Ordered the olive oil cake for dessert which never came. The advertised pistachio gelato was unavailable so... I did receive finally the raspberry chocolate chip gelato which was extra good. The noise level was very high. Not a place for a romantic dinner for two.
We went to dinner here before going to the Nashville Symphony. It was pretty good and will likely come back some day.
Brunch was decent, but not many options and several that were not available.
Went for Saturday brunch. I have been to a few shows at City Winery but never just for a meal. I will begin by saying that our food was wonderful. I think that brunch is a better value than dinner unless you are going for the music. Our issue was with our server (or lack thereof). He took our beverage order and eventual returned with our drinks. Took our order and we never saw him again until the meal was over - he brought the check. My eggs and hash browns could have benefited from some salt. We would have liked to have been at least offered another drink or check to be sure everyone's food was okay. There were quite a few people there, but the other servers were present checking on their tables. Sadly, our waiter was MIA
Love love love this place! If you haven’t been GO!!
I visited City Winery while visiting Nashville. I looked up the winery and was hoping to see a show as well, but they were sold out! Upon arrival, we were greeted by the hostess and seated at a great table in the middle of the winery. I loved the industrial space and the decor was made you feel comfortable.
Our waitstaff-Peter was so knowledgeable and friendly. I decided to start off with a flight of wines - that cost $20 - this was a good choice. I had two whites and two reds. My favorite was the Pinot Noir.
Food - We decided to try the: Margarherita Flatbread; Calamari; Pulled Lamb Sandwich; Potato salad and seasoned fries. Everything was good except the Calamari. I explained my thoughts about the dish and the item was removed from the bill.
City Winery is a great place for a group; date night or a special occasion. If I lived in the area-this would be my go-to-spot for sure!
Delicious food, really cool building. Would definitely go back.
Didn't have availability on Open Table until 9:30. We arrived at 9 expecting it to be busy and there were only a handful of tables occupied. They sat us right beside the bar despite the wide open availability. We were so close that bar patrons used our table for their empty glasses. They didn't have the bottle of the wine we asked for so we had to pay more by the glass. Ran out of the dish we wanted (shrimp & grits) so I got a burger (so-so) and my wife got the risotto (also so-so) since she didn't want anything else on the menu. Server was friendly and attentive but nothing else was enjoyable. Won't be back. Wish I stayed home.
Great service....really delicious food. Manager stopped by the table. Overall, really nice!
Staff was very helpful. Their brunch menu was really spectacular and the wine was great.
Excellent bartender! Tim is cordial, efficient and fits the space. Great brunch with my out of town friends.
We tried several things on the menu and all were delicious. The flatbreads were actually pizzas and the eggplant was delicious. The Brussels, the truffle Mac and the risotto balls were all great.
We brought a large group and our server was excellent. We enjoyed the food tremendously as well. We shared appetizers as a table (the smashed beets & tahini = 100!), followed by individual entrees and sides for the table. Unfortunately, our sides were brought out after we had almost finished our entrees. Service timing can be challenging with large groups, but the delay in serving the sides sides was a little too much.
Fabulous food and great service!
We ate at the resto prior to the sold-out John Hiatt concert. We thought eating at the restaurant would be a better experience than in the concert hall.I think all the servers were dedicated to the concert hall, since I had to flag down the one resto server multiple times. The food was stellar, but cold—each and every dish.I was excited to see that several apps I wanted to try were on the half-price happy hour menu, as was the wine I wanted to try. When the bill came, all at full price (Logan was nice about fixing the bill, but had to get his attention.) The gentleman dining next to us said that usually, service in the restaurant was “normal. Not great, but normal.” The flip-side— Great service in the concert hall, definitely the A-Team. I just prefer not to have dinner where it is super noisy and crowded. If the food had been warm, oh man, yum!
The wine and tour were excellent but the server during dinner was inattentive and the food was just okay.
We were the only diners in the restaurant (everyone else was upstairs at the concert) but we felt ignored. Food was good but seemed way overpriced, wouldn't go again
Came for my bachelorette. Sunday, it was raining and the place was empty. We were seated in an awesome private room where we were able to play our own music and the ambiance was great. The food was good but nothing to rave about for the price. The quinoa salad had barely any quinoa or taste and the burrata was great just very small for sharing. We would loved to have been there for another seating besides brunch because the other menus looked delish. Would come back here maybe not just time we did!!
I went with a large party to City Winery for a birthday event. The service was horrible. They took forever, to take our orders, food came late, and they messed up several checks. I do not recommend it!
Poor service: server disappeared. Did not check to see how our food was. No offer to get more drinks. Not friendly. Food runner brought main courses before salad was finished. When brought to runners attention, he shrugged and put food on table anyway.
Extremely loud. Very poor acoustics; restaurant needs to buffer walls. Very difficult to make table conversation.
Service and food were both amazing! I recommend the biscuit bites!
Brought a friend and a small group for his birthday! We were served quickly and the server was a great! Food was hot and delicious! We will definitely be back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There was no one in the restaurant but us really. The service was super slow. Our reservation was for 9pm and some of us didn’t have our drinks until 10pm. Honestly, it was pretty brutal. Had high hopes and definitely won’t be coming back or recommending.
Friendly service, food and wine was just good. Liked the idea for how wine was served. We ate in the barrel room which was loud with people there for concert. Lounge was closed
Went for a show. Service was so slow. Once we ordered our drinks took 25 mins later for them to arrive at table. 1 beer and 1 glass of wine. Slow service. Venue nice through.
Awesome venue and great food!
We enjoyed our meal; the server was knowledgeable & welcoming. I would recommend this place for a date night.
The table we were seated at was located beside 3 doors and a cash register. We had made date night reservations and it wasn’t crowded. We were very disappointed with where we were seated which was uncomfortably close to the couple next to us. The food was not so unique or flavorful that it warranted the price charged. There was nothing about our experience that would entice us to return.
Sat outside on the patio. A little loud for talking but enjoyed it anyway. Lots of wine to choose from. Food was very good. Service was friendly if not a little mixed up sometimes. Everyone in our party liked their food. My husband and I had the trout. Brussel sprouts a must but one order will feed at least 4 people. Would come back for sure. Fun atmosphere.
Amazing time! Also got to see Brandi Carlile and friends. Wow! What a show 😝
Went for a bachelorette brunch and the food was awesome!
The reviews were spot on. This restaurant just doesn’t work. It seems unorganized, the service is very friendly but poor, the food is just ok, but it seems like it should be great!
Interesting wine list, including many made in-house. Big food portion sizes and all food we ordered was very good.
Food was fresh and wine recommendations were great! Quick service in the restaurant to make sure we got inside for the show!
It was amazing! We were visiting Nashville for the first time and found this restaurant on Open table. Our server Natalie was great, she gave as a quick tour of the winery after lunch!
First visit to Nashville, booked a table at City Winery for a friend's dinner. Server was attentive and excellent, the food was phenomenal, and the wine list impressive! We had hoped to catch the bluegrass show after dinner, but it was nearly over by the time we finished dinner. Regardless, was an excellent experience overall and the filet that my friend had was incredible. Cooked perfectly and the side dishes were wonderful. 10/10!
Don’t bother with this eatery. Food was below average service was below average prices were above average. Not a good combination, with so many great eatery’s in Nashville you can definitely do way way better than this one. Will not be back.
