City Winery Nashville Barrel Room Restaurant & Wine Bar
City Winery has created a cuisine that borrows from Mediterranean history steeped in Italian, French, Spanish and Middle-Eastern cultures; regions that have been pairing simple and wholesome food with wine for centuries. Our chefs create menus based on classic European dishes that take on their own interpretations while staying true to our philosophy of wine inspired, regionally influenced & locally sourced dishes. Each menu is based on a list of core menu items that have evolved around classic food and wine pairings.
The wines are exceptional: Grapes are imported from renowned regions around the country, then crushed and aged on site. Wines are poured by the glass or bottle, with many available on tap.

The food was mediocre. The restaurant was really cute and we loved the ambiance but the food just didn’t measure up. Wouldn’t go back.
Good experience! Prices reasonable. Waitress and waiters more than happy to help. Theater experience was a bit lacking. Seats were uncomfortable, audio from stage was poor. Couldn't hear what the entertainers were saying. We sat in upper level. Glad we did, seating downstairs looked overly crowded with people seated too close together. We will go again, because of the experience, depending on what shows are presented. Good place for family to get together, eat, great wine selection, prices were very reasonable.
Went for Father’s Day with a party of 10. Reservation was for 1:45pm. We’re seated only to be told the kitchen closes at 2pm. It makes no sense to allow reservations that close to closing time with that large of a party. So we had to rush our orders in. I ordered my burger medium but it came out well done. The kitchen was already closed so I didn’t bother sending it back. Truffle fries were cold & the Parmesan cheese wasn’t even shaved, just chunks. Don’t get me wrong, our server was extremely polite & provided great service. I just don’t think they should take reservations that close to closing.
Lice music was much much too loud.
Extremely slow service, mediocre food and VERY loud.
Our second time at City Winery.... dinner before a concert. Tasty food and a fun place to enjoy a good dinner and conversation.
We were in town for CMAFest and looked for somewhere to eat for our group of 7. Great food and wines-highly recommend!!
We went here for a bachelorette party and it was awesome! I loved the ambience, the food was great and the service was also exceptional.
We walked in for our reservation, no one said a word to us and it was practically empty. We sat at the bar and the bartender did not ask for our orders 5 min, didnt know anything about wine and the food we (cheese plate) were served was stale and gross. So upsetting.
A very nice place I just didn’t enjoy much. Beer selection was ok and food about the same. Underwhelmed.
Great food and service. Too noisey. Was sat next to a large annoying party.
It was a great experience for my wife and I, as we were celebrating Mother’s Day!!!
For Mother’s Day, I expected a lot better from City Winery. Food was cold and not replenished quickly. I had to go track down condiments because waiter never came back to the table until we were done. Food was not original or flavorful, seemed just like they wanted to churn people through like a factory.
Exceptional food and service
It is hit or miss sometimes on their menu. We have dined here many times but driven by the concert venue they offer. Generally the meals are prepared nicely and some are unique. Limited bar choices. No Bombay, no Coors, hate IPA beers only.
I was sat in a middle restaurant table close to the bar, it took 15 or more minutes for the waiter to make it to the table to get my drink order, and another 20 minuets to receive my drink. Once my date arrived it was relatively good service from then. Other than my date not receiving her drink until after dinner arrives, it was good. The food was excellent.
Our waiter Ryan was exceptional, very attentive and very courteous. Food arrived hot, tasted wonderful. It was our first time there, and we enjoyed it very much.
The service was very slow and disjointed. All three steaks that were ordered came out cooked incorrectly. The duck was overcooked as was the sausage. However the scallops and bolognese were lovely. I think they had a few large parties and where overwhelmed in the kitchen.
First time here - very cool atmosphere. Sat in the front dining area near the bar. The concert venue looked really nice as well. Once seated our waitress said there would be 3 servers waiting on us. Not sure if it was this team approach or not but the service was very poor. We waited 15-20 minutes for wine on multiple occasions, often had no water in our glasses or on the table. The food was very good though. Two of us got the scallops which were amazing. another got the pork steak and another the gnochi which were both good not great. They had some great appetizers as well. The Mushroom Risotto balls were amazing. I expected a little more from the servers in terms of wine knowledge. And they ran out of their pinot noir but had it in the bottle... but wouldnt sell it by the glass?!? this is a wine bar. very surprised by this. With so many other great options in Nashville we likely won't return anytime soon unless its to catch a show.
Very disappointed. Wanted outdoor seating til we saw it was right next to where the valets are pulling up the cars. Ordered white wine flight ...one wine was out of stock so without asking just replaced with a rose. (I’m Allergic to reds:roses) Rib eye ($55) we chose to split. Was clearly precooked (grey in color) barely room temp and absolutely NO seasoning—no salt or pepper. Really? Asparagus however over salted and over cooked. Hollandaise sauce was in a tiny cup and cold. One positive the atmosphere was decent but after all I read in reviews...fell very short and for the money wouldn’t recommend.
We had dinner before a concert at City Winery Nashville. First time visit. We were looking forward to a nice dinner and a concert in the same venue. Concert was great. Dinner before was disappointing. Very expensive for what was served. The food was way over-seasoned. Seasonings overwhelmed my Lamb Bolognese, to the point that I couldn't tell if it was lamb, beef, pork or some sort of filler. My wife's duck tacos were similarly overseasoned.
Will definitely go back for the performances, but will find other dining options before the show.
Too bad. This could have been a great dinner/concert combo.
They were very accommodating for our large group. We reserved for a party of 8. We had a last minute add on for one more and they did with no problem. The staff was very friendly. The noise level was so high that we had to yell to each other at our own tables. The wine was very good. The food was good as well.
Went for Easter brunch. Normally we are happy with food and service at City Winery. This time the food was subpar, with offerings resembling the free breakfast buffet at a Residence Inn. Not worth the price and nothing to write home about. For a special Easter brunch we expected better quality and better selection.
It was absolutely so disappointing. This brunch was definitely not worth $42. The $6 valet parking was ridiculous too. I go to brunch all over Nashville and this was the worse one. Granite City in Franklin is 100X better then this was. It was very dark in this venue too. The waitress spilled and broke glass on the table right next to us and she used our table to put down dirty stuff from the other table and left her tray with wet napkins on my chair when we were up on the buffet line. The whole experience was terrible. Will never visit again! Please don't ever go here for a holiday brunch!
Service was super slow. Wine was good. Food was mediocre at best. Overpriced for what we experienced.
Inlaws were in town!
Very much enjoyed the atmosphere and the wines were good. I had the pork steak and did not care for it. It was not bad enough to send back but just was not my favorite. Had a couple of small plates that were excellent. Enjoyed the red flight so i could try the different offerings. My wife did not care for the Rosé but really enjoyed the Pinot Gris that replaced it. We will go back but will make different food choices.
We had a wonderful staff experience. The restaurant was filled with families, parties and couples. It’s a good choice for everyone. I do wish that the menu had more dining options.
Love the new menu... we had a large party with lots of different meal choices. Everyone was happy. Good service. Loved the Cab and Grenache on tap!
Always bad service here and food is average to above
Really good meal, didn't get any wine but the selection looked great.
We had eleven of us celebrating the engagement of my son and the restaurant was quite nice for that. We got there at 1:15 on a Saturday and the menu was brunch. I felt that it was a little limited in scope, but the food was tasty and the alcohol/wine offerings were excellent. Pretty place inside -- we had fun there!
Management is always so nice to show you around the wine making room, and allows you to look around. Such a great atmosphere!
This was our first time here and we went for brunch!! We were not disappointed!!!
Great brunch. Food was delicious and champagne tray was perfect
This place is awesome! We ordered several dishes and shared along with make your own mimosas. We also did the wine tasting which was a lot of fun. Its a gem!
Great brunch spot for a bachelorette party! Food was delicious!
It was a very nice experience. We all enjoyed ourselves:)
