The service was very slow and disjointed. All three steaks that were ordered came out cooked incorrectly. The duck was overcooked as was the sausage. However the scallops and bolognese were lovely. I think they had a few large parties and where overwhelmed in the kitchen.
First time here - very cool atmosphere. Sat in the front dining area near the bar. The concert venue looked really nice as well. Once seated our waitress said there would be 3 servers waiting on us. Not sure if it was this team approach or not but the service was very poor. We waited 15-20 minutes for wine on multiple occasions, often had no water in our glasses or on the table. The food was very good though. Two of us got the scallops which were amazing. another got the pork steak and another the gnochi which were both good not great. They had some great appetizers as well. The Mushroom Risotto balls were amazing. I expected a little more from the servers in terms of wine knowledge. And they ran out of their pinot noir but had it in the bottle... but wouldnt sell it by the glass?!? this is a wine bar. very surprised by this. With so many other great options in Nashville we likely won't return anytime soon unless its to catch a show.
Very disappointed. Wanted outdoor seating til we saw it was right next to where the valets are pulling up the cars. Ordered white wine flight ...one wine was out of stock so without asking just replaced with a rose. (I’m Allergic to reds:roses) Rib eye ($55) we chose to split. Was clearly precooked (grey in color) barely room temp and absolutely NO seasoning—no salt or pepper. Really? Asparagus however over salted and over cooked. Hollandaise sauce was in a tiny cup and cold. One positive the atmosphere was decent but after all I read in reviews...fell very short and for the money wouldn’t recommend.
We had dinner before a concert at City Winery Nashville. First time visit. We were looking forward to a nice dinner and a concert in the same venue. Concert was great. Dinner before was disappointing. Very expensive for what was served. The food was way over-seasoned. Seasonings overwhelmed my Lamb Bolognese, to the point that I couldn't tell if it was lamb, beef, pork or some sort of filler. My wife's duck tacos were similarly overseasoned.
Will definitely go back for the performances, but will find other dining options before the show.
Too bad. This could have been a great dinner/concert combo.
They were very accommodating for our large group. We reserved for a party of 8. We had a last minute add on for one more and they did with no problem. The staff was very friendly. The noise level was so high that we had to yell to each other at our own tables. The wine was very good. The food was good as well.
Went for Easter brunch. Normally we are happy with food and service at City Winery. This time the food was subpar, with offerings resembling the free breakfast buffet at a Residence Inn. Not worth the price and nothing to write home about. For a special Easter brunch we expected better quality and better selection.
It was absolutely so disappointing. This brunch was definitely not worth $42. The $6 valet parking was ridiculous too. I go to brunch all over Nashville and this was the worse one. Granite City in Franklin is 100X better then this was. It was very dark in this venue too. The waitress spilled and broke glass on the table right next to us and she used our table to put down dirty stuff from the other table and left her tray with wet napkins on my chair when we were up on the buffet line. The whole experience was terrible. Will never visit again! Please don't ever go here for a holiday brunch!
Service was super slow. Wine was good. Food was mediocre at best. Overpriced for what we experienced.
Inlaws were in town!
Very much enjoyed the atmosphere and the wines were good. I had the pork steak and did not care for it. It was not bad enough to send back but just was not my favorite. Had a couple of small plates that were excellent. Enjoyed the red flight so i could try the different offerings. My wife did not care for the Rosé but really enjoyed the Pinot Gris that replaced it. We will go back but will make different food choices.
We had a wonderful staff experience. The restaurant was filled with families, parties and couples. It’s a good choice for everyone. I do wish that the menu had more dining options.
Love the new menu... we had a large party with lots of different meal choices. Everyone was happy. Good service. Loved the Cab and Grenache on tap!
Always bad service here and food is average to above
Really good meal, didn't get any wine but the selection looked great.
We had eleven of us celebrating the engagement of my son and the restaurant was quite nice for that. We got there at 1:15 on a Saturday and the menu was brunch. I felt that it was a little limited in scope, but the food was tasty and the alcohol/wine offerings were excellent. Pretty place inside -- we had fun there!
Management is always so nice to show you around the wine making room, and allows you to look around. Such a great atmosphere!
This was our first time here and we went for brunch!! We were not disappointed!!!
Great brunch. Food was delicious and champagne tray was perfect
This place is awesome! We ordered several dishes and shared along with make your own mimosas. We also did the wine tasting which was a lot of fun. Its a gem!
Great brunch spot for a bachelorette party! Food was delicious!
It was a very nice experience. We all enjoyed ourselves:)
Great choices for sharing and after a rough start with a vanishing waitress we had outstanding service with another wait staff member.
we love visiting city winery nashville! the food is never disappointing and the wine list is unrivaled. i don’t know of any other place in our area where we could go for a fun meal and quality live music. we are city winery FANatics!
First, they removed the tables and suspended dining in the stage area but neglected to inform internet customers. Arrived with date after reserving dinner and concert on line expecting a great dinner while attending the concert only to be told that it was a special venue and dinner had to be eaten in the main bar. This caused us to miss half of the concert. To make things worse my date ordered scallops which arrived overcooked and rubbery. I ordered the steak mid-rare only to receive it well done. It took over an hour for the food to arrive which made dinner rushed and uncomfortable. The only decent thing we experienced was the two glasses of house wine which were exceptional.
This meal was an experience...the food was superb and Kimberley our waitress was absolutely darling.
Our servers and food were incredible, however, the host staff was extremely rude and slow. We waited 20 minutes past our reservation for a table when there were 7 empty and set up tables in the restaurant. No one had been seated in the time we waited, so it was not an issue of double seating a server. When we were finally sat, we asked if we could have been 15-20 minutes late and our table not given away, and were met with an incredibly snarky comment from the host. We almost left before we even met our server due to the host's attitude, but were glad we didn't because the food was great and the serving staff were some of the best.
Unfortunately, our experience was not good. The place was so full, they had simultaneous events plus the restaurant, the service and kitchen were no prepare. We waited over one hour for our food, when finally we got our plates, they were cold. They should organize better the service capacity.
So we are in town with some good friends and all four of us were very excited for this reservation. First, we were under the impression there was live music at the venue - this was not the case. Our server Kim was excellent, very personable and engaging, but out of her control was the rest of the service. After we ordered our entree it took over an hour for them to be served. Yes, over an hour... once our entrees finally came out my chicken leg was still cold in the middle. Waiting 65 minutes for cold chicken is unacceptable in my opinion. Kim was very apologetic, and seemed embarrassed. They did take the chicken dish off he tab and gave us free dessert - but I still think an over 300 tab was still too high (we had to keep ordering wine during our never ending wait for dinner). Needless to say, we won’t be returning on our next visit.
Excellent date with my sweetheart valentine.
Really nice experience for colleagues stuck on a business trip on Valentine’s Day. Delicious food and wine. Plan to come back to see live music!
Enjoyed the special Valentines menu. Service was great (Kim) even though it was busy. Absolutely met my expectations!
Great place for Valentine’s Day.
The ambiance of City Winery is very nice and cozy, however, there is nothing exceptional about the food. Several of us in our party ordered flatbreads, however, we received pizzas, which were not hot. The service was good and our server was very knowledgeable about the menu. All in all, a good dining experience but I don't see us returning.
Worst service we've had in 10 years of living in Nashville
Was in the dining room, not the performance area. Originally seated by the glass wall, which was too cold in February. Asked to move to another table right away, first waitress said they were full. 10 minutes later as I looked around to a half full dining room and asked another one and were reseated. Place was never more than 75% full.
Despite that, had a good diner and pretty nice evening. Duck tacos were unique and pretty tasty. Mushroom flatbread was great tasting. The scallops were like candied desserts, certainly save them for last. Their Pinot Noir was quite good, and the cab sav was so so.
All in all a fun place, but seeing a show would probably be the best way to enjoy it. The
Jared was an amazing waiter! He took great care of us!
A lot of Miscommunication on their front regarding reservation, capacity, and kitchen availability. It was discouraging since I readjusted the schedule however still had to wait. They did comp our meal after some complaints. But they could have been better prepared.
I enjoyed the ambiance of the entire venue. I've attended a show in the main room, and thoroughly enjoyed myself. The dining space is louder. I enjoyed our server. However, he did say there were two of them and we never saw the girl he mentioned. Just him. Our food took a little bit of time to get to us, in fact our server even asked if we were ready for dessert! We had to remind him that we hadn't even had dinner... otherwise, it was a fun place. I could see going for just drinks next time.
The food was okay, a bit on the bland side. The wine was okay. I ordered a white flight, but it was not well chilled and served in small stemless glasses. I would have preferred a different presentation. The risotto balls were good, not great. The humus was good, not great. The Brussel sprouts were probably the best dish. There was a large event that night, but the dining room was nearly empty. The staff was friendly and great, but the service was too slow. This might have been because of the event. I would go back if invited, but it won't be on my favorites list.
