Nice that they had someone to assist with wine selection, but it was very bright in there (went for a 715pm dinner), the meat and cheese plate was truly one of the worst I’ve ever had (and was $30), and the rest of the shared plates were very small and not very good. Wouldn’t recommend or go again.

Hi Amanda, Thank you for taking the time to leave this review, we are disappointed that the overall ambiance and the selection of food did not meet your standards. At City Winery we strive to provide a intimate setting where we serve the highest quality food and beverage, clearly we fell short in this instance. If you would consider giving us another chance to deliver on an experience that will exceed your expectations we would love to host you in the near future. Thanks, Tom Fallon

First timer, we loved it. The wine flights were fun to sample the wines made there and the food was fabulous. The waitress Emily was very attentive and helped us pick out our choices. Can't wait to go again.

This is a consistently good place to go pregame or prevent at TD garden. Enough variety and portion size choices to make everyone happy.

I went to the City Winery prior to a concert at TD Garden and figured I would get to my concert in time due to the proximity...boy was I wrong. It took about 30 mins to get water and even a waiter to stop by. An order of bruschetta and a burger took well over 1hr to receive. It was so bad that two different seats got up and left while we were still waiting for our meal. I don’t think I would come back here again...I don’t have that kind of patience.

I have been to City Winery before with no issues; however, this instance, the main floor was understaffed and we waited over an hour for our food. Our waiter could have cared less about the slow service and showed no sense of urgency and was not apologetic. No one else seemed to be helping him either.

I cannot say enough about how great City Winery was on Friday night! Somehow, I snuck my way into a reservation even though they were closed (due to several private events). Rather than cancel my reservation, they accommodated me and my party of 6 flawlessly. We were having a quick dinner before a concert at TD Garden. Liza (our server) and Mark (the hospitality manager) were fantastic!! I can't wait to go back. There's great food all over Boston - but not great service. That is what sets City Winery apart.

Nice place to go prior to event at the Garden - short walk. Arrived a little early to meet a friend and was greeted by host who was very nice. Decided I'd have a glass of wine at the bar. Despite it not being busy and 3 people behind the bar I had a tough time getting anyone's attention. After calling out a few times finally bartender came over. I ordered a glass of wine which was served in a nice big wine glass - only problem is it was one of the smallest pours I've seen For $14 I'd expect a reasonable pour. Friend arrived and getting the check was not quick. Had to call out to another bar tender but got that resolved. Went to table, and sat by the window. Waiter came over and went into the extensive wine offerings and other details and we asked about the food as we had not been there before. We ordered both food and drinks as we only had an hour or so. Drinks arrived and then our entrees. The appetizer never arrived. When we asked the waiter, who disappeared for the longest time he said he'd go check with the kitchen to which we responded forget is as we were by this point well into our meals. Waiter never checked in on us again until we were done and we got the check and left. Food was ok, I had the sunday pasta and my friend had the steak frites. I'd give it a maybe for try again. WIth all the restaurants in the area not sure this one of the best.

When i looked up events in Boston, and reserved a nice-looking brunch with live music for my boyfriend and I, I never thought it would be THIS amazing!! Kyle, our server, was very knowledgeable, gave us a good suggestion of a flight of wine to help decide what bottle we'd like to purchase after, he checked on us frequently, was very pleasant and attentive. The live musician, believe his name was Avi, was great! His style of music and the volume was a perfect accompaniment to brunch, definitely keep having him back! Big shoutout to wine associate Christian- he really made the experience special by chatting with us for a good while about wine, which is a hobby interest of ours, giving us tips on how to analyze wine better, gave us a tour, shared some stories from his wine journey...Seriously, when we left we were like "how did this brunch just turn into an EXPERIENCE?" so awesome, we will definitely be back during our next trip to Boston! You guys rock! -Sam and Zach

Wasn’t busy, however waited 20 minutes for someone to even come take our order. We had to ask someone if we had a waiter. Did not even get followed up on with waiter after order was placed, had to stop someone to ask if we could pay our bill. So the only interaction was being seated, finding someone to take our order, receiving food/drink, then when trying to find someone to pay check. We ordered flatbread and would have ordered more food and multiple drinks but grew tired of waiting. Will not be back.

Very disappointed in City Winery. Our waiter barely checked on us. We waited 30 mins for him to come back and get our drink order. As he brings the drinks over, he realizes he messed up the order. Brought the wrong drink back to the bar to be remade, however, someone else proceeded to bring over the exact same drink he just returned. Another 30 minutes went by and he returned to the table to fill our waters and ask how we were doing today..as if we were a brand new table. We needed to ask again for the correct drink. Our chicken wings arrived to the table cold and somewhat uncooked. It has a lot of potential but I probably won’t be back.

Very disappointing experience at City Winery for brunch. Food choices were limited and drinks were unimpressive! The waiter never came by the table to see how things were and got my friend's order wrong. The only thing the Winery has going for it is the music venue. Good acts at reasonable prices. The food...meh!

Great brunch food and terrific music by local artists Sweet Pea. The kitchen was terribly slow/understaffed; food was slow and it took a full HOUR to get a cup of COFFEE "because we don't have any clean cups." Coffee should be ready to go for brunch. Our server was very nice and working hard to accommodate but they need to get their act together by opening time.

Food was great, sommelier was friendly and knowledgeable. Bussers were very attentive but our actual waitress seemed clueless. When we asked about a wine, she was not able to tell us anything about it outside of what was written on the menu, items were forgotten during service, etc. Staff overall seems young, with more training should be great.

We were seated at 6:10 and did not get our order taken until 6:40. We explained that we had a show to be at by 7:45, yet we still did not have our food by 7:15. Three separate times, someone else’s food/ drinks were brought to our table and we had to tell them it wasn’t ours. When she realized, the waitress had the manager head to the kitchen to try and speed up our order but by 7:25, we were trying to find our waitress to skip the food, get the check, and leave. At that point, our food was brought over to us and we had to shovel it down so that we could run to the show. My shrimp was extremely over cooked and my mother’s chicken was cold. Very confusing since we were waiting so long for it. The manager was very nice and apologetic, but I’m not sure I would ever go back.

A very unfortunate experience, since we had heard nothing but great things about this place and we’re excited to try it.

We had such an awesome experience in the Barrel Room Wine Bar and Restaurant! Tom and his team, on very short notice, were able to create a private experience for our group of 12. Preordered awesome pizzas and risotto balls. The drinks and wines were great, atmosphere exactly what we wanted and the location perfect for meeting before an event at TD Garden. Can’t wait to go back for a pizza making class or winery tour.

I never write a bad review, but this restaurant has so much promise but was so disappointing. The hummus plate said it was with “pickled vegetables”, which turned out to be raw onions and nibs of cauliflower and carrot so small you couldn’t pick it up with your fingers. Service was so slow at 5:30 with a nearly empty dining room - the appetizer and entrees arrived at the table at the same time.
The seasonal fares risotto described as having all these lovely summer vegetables showed up as a grey, mushy, oily mess. The kitchen has got to be able to do better!
