went with a table of 8. there was a show they weren't prepared for so our food took over an hour to come, the waitress didn't communicate anything with us, and when things did finally come out it was one at a time and either not cooked to over cooked. The only positive interaction we had was with a bus boy who was friendly and apologetic (so thank you to him) The general manager finally came over and I made him comp half our bill, he didn't offer I had to ask. Would have walked out...
The restaurant was not crowded; however, we waited two hours for our brunch and it never came. We ended up leaving without having eaten. I’ve never been to a restaurant and had that happen before.
This is actually the perfect place for pre-game Bruins dining. The space has a quieter side but you can get a little rowdier at the bar. There is plenty of space for everyone and it is a clean establishment. The wine was great from their carafe menu and we ate just enough in the right amount of time to walk over and see the puck drop.
Enjoyed a meal of small plates. Spaghetti squash was amazing with some Pinot.
Great service at the bar with our friends prior to the Celtics game.
Been to the Winery twice in the last 2 weeks before a TD Garden event. Love the $1 oysters 5-7 pm.
* Convenient to TD Garden
* Food and wine are good.
* Dislikes ... very noisy environment, service is slow, and waitress not attentive. one evening had to track waitress down 2 times. They missed one of the items we ordered.
Booked reservation for the Fleetwood Mac concert. Apathetic hostess pointed to “our table” across the restaurant and relied on us to find our way. There was no empty table and we had return to the host stand to try again. The food and drinks took a long time, as apparently three bartenders called out sick. The food was good, but silly errors included incorrect wines and a butter wrapper in the chowder. The server, Austin, was very apologetic and kind and encouraged us to come back.
Food all came out at different times, one plate came out a full 30 min after everyone else’s. Some food came out incorrectly, and all plates were different temperatures. The actual food was just ok, definitely not worth the price. The server was sorry and told us we would get a free round of drinks but it was still extremely expensive for what we got. Will not being going back and I definitely DO NOT reccoment
Everything was great, splitting checks was a little difficult...the bartender was awful. We ordered a jamo and ginger and was told that they didn't carry jamo even though there was 3 bottles sitting right on the counter. Then we ordered 2 shots and the bartender couldn't figure out how to make and then charged us $60 for 3 items that we're made incorrectly.
Bar service was very slow , food lacked flavor. Wine that is made in house over priced small serving . Just OK
Nice place, great ambiance, good food and wine, but they were really understaffed and it resulted in a less than optimal service experience. There was no one at the check in desk when we arrived, and after waiting five minutes for someone to show up, we finally corralled a waiter to go and find the person who could seat us (we had a reservation). The waitress was very kind but she had too many tables to cover. The bar was also quite slow filling our drink orders which was not her fault. Overall, it was pretty disappointing,in line with other reviews I’ve read on the place.
We've gone to a couple of shows at the CW. The first one we ate inside the concert area. The food is pretty good, although somewhat over priced for the amount you get. The service was slow. The next time we went back we chose to eat inside the restaurant - which by the way has more food options. However the service inside the restaurant are wasn't much better.
Nice venue to see a concert, a little tight - however the service needs to improve.
Ordered appetizers and they came out at different times because they said they were backed up. We ordered appetizers to go with each other and pair them with friends to try. We then waited over a normal time for a second round of drinks because attention at the end of the bar seem to not be important. We then go ahead to order dinner and again items come out at different times. The flatbreads came out and did not meet the description on the menu and was so chewy and not fully cooked that unfortunately we sent it back. The wait staff came over from the bar to explain to us that the flat bread chefs are backed up as well and that’s the reason why it came out like that. Beyond disappointed and in absolute shock that that’s how they explain the poor service to customers while spending hundreds of dollars at this restaurant over so many great ones in town.
Btw, we asked for the Bruins and Celtics game to be turned on and they explained that the cable service they use is bad. C’mon service customers like you care and want them back not as a final visit.
Great experience. Apps were amazing. Dinner was awesome. We will definitely be back to try other great items on the menul
We went before the Kelly Clarkson concert Friday night and had a fabulous time. Our waitress was amazing. Gave great recommendations on wine and was very personable and attentive. The food was to die for! Can't wait to go back.
The server didn’t collect our menus, any empty plates or glasses and barely came to our table. We were out of drinks and water for most of the time there. We had to bus our own table and chase down other servers for help the whole time. Very disappointing. We went early to get wine as well at the bar and the staff made it very awkward and acted as if it were weird that we were standing to have a drink at the bar before dinner. The food was okay. It was my birthday dinner and it was overall a terrible experience. We couldn’t wait to get out of there.
Thank you for helping us to host our family gathering. The staff was very accommodating to us, a group of multi generations. Food was good, would have liked more gluten free options (especially the flatbreads!), yet I understand how this can be tricky. The wine was fabulous and the waitstaff very helpful in suggesting how we might want to order. Will definitely return!
This was a fun place with a cool vibe. We shared plates and had a few glasses of wine before a Celtics game. It was perfect. Right down the street.
We ate there on 2/21/19 not 2/28/19. We liked the place so much on 2/10 that we went back with relatives on 2/21 after a Disney On Ic e show. Food was good as was the wine. It is a beautiful place and location.
A must try. Great wine and amazing music venue
Came here for brunch on Sunday as we had a $50 gift card to burn. My wife had the steak and cheese breakfast sandwich on a brioche with fries and it was huge and delicious. I had the shakshuka and it was also delicious. Could have used a piece of bread with it to soak up the excess though. (Just a thought). We didn’t quite use all of our gift card, guess we need to come back.
Very nice Valentines Day dinner with my wife and two young children.
I went for Valentine's Day and had an amazing evening. We dined in the restaurant first and then went to a really fun show in their Haymarket Lounge. The food, service and ambiance was incredible. Our server, Austin was super friendly & knowledgeable. Be sure to sign up for their newsletter to find out about all of the shows they have coming up! They get amazing artists--I can't wait to go back and see Ron Pope, BBMak, Robert Glasper, Grace Kelly & Haley Reinhart! I would give this place 10 stars if I could.
This is a beautiful restaurant and bar and they occupy a huge space between the restaurant, the winery and 2 concert halls. We had only a burger and eggs benedict at the bar, so no larger entrees. The food was good and their own wines were good they make there. The only negative I have read about the place is slow service. When we placed our food order, it took 30 minutes to get our food which were 2 simple meals to make. I will definetly go back as I was very impressed with the layout of the place. A very imnpressive setting.
Servers were not what I would expect at a high level restaurant in Boston. Had to ask for a spoon for chowder and plates for calamari.
Enjoyed the evening ambience and food was only okay, but service lacking.
Good spot for a glass of wine before dinner
While we thought the food was quite good, the service was abominable. VERY LONG waits. Orders can at different times. Forgot one of the orders completely.
Drinks took 20 mins to get to the table. And yes - forgot one completely.
Waitress was overwhelmed. Not only did we have to go find her, but had to find extra table setting, salt and pepper, and had to ask the bartender to fill the order (which he STILL HAD NOT GOTTEN!!).
Unless they get their act together, will never return.
It was a very average dining experience. My friend an I were eager to have brunch here, but I have to say it was just an average meal. The roasted veggies in the omelet were still very hard . They were out of the mix for the rose sangria which we were very excited to try. It was very lackluster.
Went there before a concert with a group of 6 on saturday 2/2. We ordered our drinks (2 wine flights, 2 sangrias, 1 glass of wine and 1 cocktail) ordered 2 appetizers and then a mix of pizzas and small plates to share. Food came out within a reasonable amount of time. First appetizers, then our mix of small plates and pizzas. What did not come out was our drinks. First the waiter said they were out of sangria, then they were out of Jameson whiskey and had to pick out a different drink. We finished our appetizers, still no drinks. We finished our meals, still no drinks. Finally after our food plates had been cleared our drinks arrived! Really disappointing. The food was very good and the restaurant ambiance is fun, but for a wine bar, a backup at the bar and having to wait for our drinks for over 1 hour (sat at 6:30- left at 7:50pm. ) we got our drinks at 7:30pm. Really bad.
Slowest drink service I’ve ever seen.
Had the burger. It was okay, but lacked flavor. Had lunch around 4pm on a Saturday and the dining area was literally cold. Granted it was a cold day outside, but there was very little heat in the dining area. Service was slow also. Eventually the bar tender came and took our order
Joined a friend at City Winery after work, it was perfect! Great vibe, great music and delicious food! Usually go for a performance but tonight went to the barrel room for dinner. Compared to performances, service was outstanding, food delicious and great ambience. Try the risotto balls! Delicious! Thank you!
We went on a Wednesday night before a Celtics game. The place was not crowded and there were plenty of available times, which in retrospect should have been a tip off. For starters, there was only one waiter worker the floor. It took 20 minutes to place a drink order, and then another 20 to order food. The food showed up quickly because there were a bunch of servers around, just no one you could order food or drink with. The mixed drinks were ok, the wine was surprisingly mediocre. Food was meh. Then it took 10 minutes after our plates were cleared to get our check, and then another 10 to sign, etc. Yup, we were late for the game.
The restaurant is really cute, food was delicious and the service was quite good.
Was there for Marc Cohn show and ate dinner in the restaurant beforehand. The duck tacos were dry and tasteless. There were hardly any patrons in the restaurant but pre show dining in the concert hall was bustling so possibly the food preparers were focused on that crowd. Our server was fabulous and the manager promptly replaced our fried calamari that arrived to the table cold. Service couldn’t have been better but the food is lacking unfortunately because it’s a great spot to see a show and would be fantastic if the food reflected that as well.
The restaurant had a lot of potential but the service was TERRIBLE. Not only my table of 3, but all tables surrounding were waiting over an hr for our food. When the food did arrive it was cold. The waiter did his best to be pleasant but he was clearly rushing and not engaged. It also confused me because it did not seem to be understaffed. Maybe there was a party on the lower level, but I suggest next time to close the restaurant for the duration of private events. It was my mothers birthday dinner, and she did not enjoy herself.
This place is not a bad option if you are going to see one of the shows. Just go early and order with plenty of time. The décor is kind of cool with the windows and long bar and there are good tables for groups. The food is pretty good, and there is a nice variety, but it doesn't always arrive hot...and the service is slow. The server we had this past visit spilled a martini all over my husband-she was very apologetic and ran to get cloth napkins to clean up--but that drink should have been comped and it was not. We had gone in at 6:15 for appetizers (which were good) and dinner before seeing Marc Cohn. Were stalling as friends were delayed so we waited until 7:15 to order dinner (show is at 8:00 and in the same building.) Dinner came out at 7:50 and fries/burger were cold. No time to send it back OR eat it so we had a server put it on a tray and brought it over to the concert venue. Very stressful and disappointing.
I think the key here is that when folks come for a concert and want to eat beforehand, the kitchen gets overwhelmed and slow. Then all bets are off and there is no time to send anything back.
We enjoyed a fabulous birthday dinner at City Winery. Our table ordered everything from small plates, flat bread, and large plates. Everything was deliciously prepared. The ambiance was so relaxing. We were seated at a large round table that was perfect for conversation.
I highly recommend this establishment.
Atmosphere very interesting. Great space to mingle. Convenient to TD Garden ad great place to meet before a game, however service at bar very slow. Wine good but pours very small for the price. Irritating that food in restaurant wasn't served to entire party at same time, but instead arrived individually. Took over 10 minutes for entire party to be served so first people didn't want to eat without everyone getting food and their meals were cold. Why can't the kitchen figure out how to serve all food in party at once ?
The food and service were okay but the atmosphere was fun. We saw a concert after dinner (highly recommend) and it was a great experience. Overall, it was a good time but I'd stick to apps, drinks, and a show.
We had an absolutely amazing night the bar staff was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly and when it came time to get a table we were absolutely thrilled that everyone was spread out and not on top of each other the prices are a bit high as we spent about 200 dollars on the night but it was well worth it and I can’t wait to do it again next year
