We went for brunch. Great spot! I’d love to go back on a Friday or Saturday night when they have live music. Sunday’s are just kinda chill.
I had such high hopes for this restaurant but was truly disappointed. The place is beautiful but the service was poor. After being seated, we waited for awhile to order and the place was not busy. Also, I noticed a bug in my water and informed the waitress and she had a blank look on her face (no apology). While ordering, we were told not substitutions (fine). However, when the food finally arrived, the food was cold and didn't have any taste (we notice someone else sending back the same dish)?? We were pushing for time for a nearby concert so couldn't wait.
I informed a manager and she simply stated "Thanks for telling me".
The menu is limited and the food wasn't good. Perhaps the wine is better but really overpriced.
Save your money and dine somewhere else!
Awful experience. Waited fir a server for 15 minutes while others around us were served. I ask fir bread or something to munch on as we waited-he brought stale bread chips you would normally use for soup. When the good came out my pasta was so over cooked it was sticking together in clumps.
Won’t EVER go again 👎🏽
The atmosphere was great, but the food and service left a lot to be desired. The service was so-so. The server seemed uninterested and didn't offer to let us know there were specials until asked. Not very engaging and had to pull suggestions out of her. She also forgot beverages and sides. By the time she brought them out (after being reminded) we were almost done with dinner. Don't understand the poor service since we had an early reservation and the place was almost empty.
The food was as bland as the service. It was fresh, but I just couldn't eat it with that blandness. I took it home so I could doctor it up. It was the same for everyone at the table. The best thing was the flatbread. We just got another one so we would have something to eat.
There is nothing worse that a cold chocolate cake. We let that sit so it could warm up a bit so we could actually taste it.
Won't be rushing back the this restaurant anytime soon. Which is a shame because, as I wine head, I had been trying for a while to get there.
The hostesses are extremely rude. They make you feel unwanted from the moment you walk in, sets a great tone for the rest of your experience.
The food is very bland and average. On top of that, all the dishes that we ordered came out slightly cold.
There are so many great restaurants in the area, skip the mediocrity of City Winery.
The wine selection was spot on, the flat bread of the day to die for and the server was awesome. I will return soon.
Our server was not overly attentive and we could tell she was more interested in finishing up her shift than helping our table. The wine was delicious but the food was just ok. The speak easy in the basement level was very fun.
We enjoyed it & nice atomsphere. Celebrated my wife birthday
Cold food, wrong mixed drink, slow service. Our food was literally ice cold, our apps took forever to come out. Food wasn’t super good. Ordered a mix drink and it came out wrong. Also called to push back our reservation from 7 to 7:30pm and they said no, we are completely booked. There we multiple open tables near us until well after 9pm.
I think it’s the worst I town restaurant at this price point . I would go back there to see a show , but never again for dinner. The food was so mediocre, and the service was fine except they couldn’t answer a single question about the food or wine (!) - how ironic.
The food was very good, and the wine was better than you'd normally find at the price point, however it was very expensive, and I don't think the high prices were warranted. I don't regret the decision to go, but I definitely will not be going back.
My date and I got our dinner served 25 minutes apart. His food was cold when it arrived. We waited for my food for 50 minutes (I got a cheese flatbread) and we were charged full price. It wasn’t crowded at all. Our server came to our table once which was when he took our order. Wouldn’t recommend going unless you have a couple of hours to waste
Overall the evening was okay, I found them at the last minute when previous plan fell trough. Food was good and I like the ambiance, but the service could have been much better. I know they don't have anything to do with parking, but it's expensive to park.
Basic. Over priced with limited options. Was told a special, ordered it then it wasn't available two minutes later. Waitress behind us bashed her manager to her table and loud enough for half the room to hear. Started raining so all hands were on deck to move people inside, causing a back up on drinks. Waited 15 minutes for a single glass of wine. To say the least, it was not the date night we planned and hoped for out of this restaurant.
The place was almost empty. We made reservations so we could have dinner with friends before the show. We purchased show tickets separately so we decided to eat in the restaurant so we could eat together. The show started at 8pm - we had 7pm reservations and got there early. Apparently the performer requested no table service during the show (good call) so the theater was full of people trying to get their orders in by 7:30pm - so I get that the kitchen was slammed - and crazy slow getting stuff out, BUT - the silverware was dirty, water glass was dirty (as was the replacement), the appetizer was forgotten and we thought they were picking the grapes because the wine service was so slow. The service was very friendly - just not very effective. The food, when it finally arrived was very good. And it is a great place to eat before the show. I'm sure we got them on an off night, but I worked in restaurants for years - this was not well oiled machine.
Had a reservation before a show. Traffic was slow and was going to be 5 minutes late. Called to let them know and was on hold so long I walked in with the call still on hold and caught hostess purposely ignoring phone. On Friday place was half full yet still was seated at a crappy table and squeezed between the few other customers. Ordered apps and dinner only to have all delivered simultaneously. Food was great. Workers are fast food rejects.
Wine selection and food was great
It was really nice. I loved the ambiance.
We went to the restaurant only. My mom and I came here because we enjoy trying new wines. We got the flight of 4 2oz wines from their winery for $10. We chose "fresh and fruity whites" and they were all delicious.
We also went with their lunch option of half a sandwich and a side salad. Let me say first that I really do not like salads at all... However, their house salad was the best salad I have ever had in my life and I find myself craving it from time to time. I got the turkey sandwich too and it was tasty and filling. This will definitely be at the top of my list when feeling wine-y!
The menu is just all over the place and overpriced for the quality. The wine was good but I paid 50 dollars for a bottle of wine that was 15 dollars in the store. My waiter was nice and the lighting was decent.
Had the worst food. Food was cold (sent it back and it came back cool as in still cold.) The chicken was taste less. The fries were a replica of drum sticks (DRUMLINE 3 anyone?) . Hard and cold. We barely ate anything and still had a $50 bill. The waitress was very nice tho. You don't understand these fries had sharp edges. I poked a hole in the chicken with the fries. ALSO THE CORNBREAD (that was shaped like a biscuit, had the consistency of packed sand, pretending to be a Frisbee ) HAD MOLD ON IT! Did y'all chef call out tonight? The waitress took it away before I can get footage!
This was my first time as the City Winery and my party and I attended during brunch. Our server was pleasant, however he did not know the menu or the rules of what could be substituted etc as he typically does not work that shift. The food was decent, however I ordered toast and the establishment did not have any jelly.
The venue is nice and food reasonably priced, therefore I would try again for dinner next time in hopes of having a better experience.
We enjoyed a nice meal before the late night show at same location. While this isn't a spot for serious foodies, we will be back for another event.
This was a great find, please was amazing. Even with a few parties going on still felt like there was knowone else in the restaurant.
A must go for anyone.
Loved the wines and James the sommelier. He was awesome.
I've been to City Winery a few times and have received different levels of service. Sometimes the service is excellent but sometimes it is really lacking. It just depends on who you get. The food and wine are what bring me back. Hopefully, they just need some more time to perfect their process.
The food was ok at best. The service wasn’t poor but definitely could be improved.
We didn't have the best experience.
First we had an issue using our OpenTable points as the restaurant initially wouldn't take it even though that is how we booked our reservation - eventually they accepted it, but I had to explain the OpenTable process to the manager, which was sort of embarrassing as this was our anniversary. She was nice enough, but it interrupted our dinner a couple of times trying to figure it out.
Our appetizers came out lightening fast, which we were pleasantly surprised about, but then our server told us that our food would likely come out at different times, which we thought was a strange comment to make but got us thinking that this feels more institutional in nature like they have most of their food waiting for the masses, except for things like fried chicken that you just can't have sitting under a heat lamp. The food was just ok, nothing to write home about.
Lastly, our waitress put our neighboring table's bill on our tab, which made for a sad ending to our dining experience. Fortunately, the real reason we were here was to hear the live music downstairs, which turned out to be a lot of fun. I guess it made up for the bad taste that was left in our mouth, but we won't be back for the dining experience, just the live music.
I loved the decor and ambiance of this place, and everyone enjoyed their food, however, there are a couple of areas that definitely need improvement. We were the only ones in the restaurant early on a Saturday and the service was inexplicably slow. It took forever for us to get our drinks, and they came in waves...one here, one there, and we all had the same thing except for one person! We had to ask about our appetizer (we only ordered one) which the server brought after our entrees. And the hostess was having very loud conversations that were also quite unprofessional with the manager on duty, from one end of the restaurant to another while we were eating. There seemed to be a lot of inexperience that needed some mentoring. I will definitely try again and hope that the service has improved.
I really enjoy the atmosphere, the food was so fresh and good. The service was also great. I am looking forward to going back for the jazz brunch
Disappointing first time experience. The service was mediocre. It took over 30 minutes to get the food. Our appetizers came out after the food arrived—we had to remind our server that they were forgotten. We had to ask to get our drinks refilled. The place wasn’t even busy! They didn’t have a sense of urgency at all...it seemed like no one cared or even had a clue. It’s a great space, but unfortunately, I would not go back or recommend this place.
Server was very nice but the kitchen couldn’t get the food out at the same time. The food was good - just a less than stellar experience. We got two entrees - finished those - then two more entrees came out - finished those - then the final entree came out. After all that - we finally got the side we ordered. Our waiter was very nice - and wine was always timely.
I didn’t have a good review, but I didn’t see the music venue. The atmosphere outside of the music venue felt like a hotel bar. The food was less than mediocre.
Food was pre-prepared as our order came out within 10 minutes and could not have been made to order.
Very disappointing. Food not good, cold, and servers spoke over the food during delivery. Won't be back.
very limited menu; most choices overpriced; wines overpriced including house label; hummus lacked flavor and pita was hard as rock (probably microwaved too long or old)
Delightful evening with my husband.... excellent wine! 🍷 Definitely will return for a concert....They gave us a complimentary bottle of wine for our anniversary too! 😘🥂🎁🍾
The service was horrible. Our table would ask for something (iced tea refill; hot sauce) - told that it was "downstairs "..... then would come back 10 minutes later with it. The quality of food was like a McAllister's, but for 2x the cost. I ordered a chicken blt. Didn't have bacon on it. Asked for no mayo. Had mayo on it. Came with a fried green tomato (per the menu), but also a regular sliced tomato and onion. Very odd. Asked for tots, came with fries...then tots. Overall not a great experience. Was hosting my boss from Austin- did not speak well for the Atlanta food scene.
Wounderful environment great food and drinks
First visit - experience and expectations nerver materialized: took forever- greater than 30 min for our dinners ( group of 6) to arrive and when it did - COLD! The only good out of the experience- drinks were good and the service was adequate; along with the appetizers ( really the best part of dinning at this place)!
