This place is a guys place. Sports going on everywhere...very cool! I worked with Chris and Rose....both professional and sincere. The GM stopped by to see how everything was good...micj apprecited. I beleive his name was Harry. Harry suggested the crab cakes were amazing, so I it....and it was awesome. Thanks Harry..
It was ok. The food read better than it was but I would go back. The service was good.
Great restaurant, burgers were fantastic! We shared the lobster Mac and cheese. It was OK. I like mine with more cheese and flavor. Service was excellent! Prices were what I would normally expect at a restaurant.
Average. Some interesting dishes, but execution is lacking. Crab and corn hush puppies were good, but slightly overcooked. Crab cakes were nothing special, but my husband enjoyed the pork.
Their brunch/lunch menu was phenomenal. The food was worth every penny. I'd definitely recommend!!
Server didn’t know beer list, couldn’t tell me which was which when he dropped off the samples. Brought out the wrong beer 3x. And the food I ordered steak and fries was just a giant slab of fat! No apologizes no manager visit. Just acted like it was another day! Place is too overpriced for poor service like that!
We had four for Easter brunch. The service was quite slow even though the restaurant wasn't very busy when we first arrived. My quiche was dried out and tasteless, but the accompanying salad was good and the breakfast potatoes were fine. I believe the others in my party were satisfied with their meals, though one other friend didn't get exactly what was ordered. I was disappointed but will try them again.
Slow service. Food didn’t come out together. Had to continually flag server for refills. Some of the food was hot while other meals had clearly sat for awhile.
Food was very good. Our party of 5 all got different entries and all were good. Appetizers were very good and unique. Service was a little slow but server was very nice and attentive... just waited too long for drink refills and the check.
I made a reservation a week before we went and asked for a table near a TV since we were going for the final 4. We showed up to a fairly empty restaurant but was told there wasn't any table facing a TV. Long story short they ended up being able to accommodate us and re-angled our table for an even better view.
We ordered a bottle of wine for the table which they originally thought they were out of but the manager was able to track it down in their stock (we appreciated his extra efforts).
We were given tons of time before we ordered as our waiter knew we were there for the games. We appreciated his patience
Low key night with family, party of 5. Great food, pleasant enough server but slow follow-up after order was taken. Appetizer dishes sat piled up in middle of table until 3/4 of main meal was eaten, while server and runner dropped more food and took another drink order.
Wait staff seemed like they would rather be somewhere else on Friday night.
Kicker was 20% tip request was written out on our bill.
Although we had a reservation in advance, the host was unclear and confused about seating us (seating availability was plentiful) it was a very awkward first time experience. Once the host figured that out, the wait staff person who brought water to the table was not friendly at all. Even after we greeted him , he never said hello or welcome, not a single word or acknowledged the table. He was more interested in watching what was happening through the glass windows than greeting his table while spilling water on the table and missing the glasses. No apologies or acknowledgments. The beer and food were both good . No complaints there. But the hospitality was definitely lacking upon arrival.
Going away dinner
Perfect easy affordable cozy gastro pub dinner experience for a family of out of towners on a snowy night. Great pizza, with unusually flavorful crust. The salads are full entree size. The cookie desert is fantastic - sweet, decadent, plenty big to share. But avoid the key lime pie desert - it's presented like creme brûlée except with toasted marshmallow on top. The proportions are all wrong - not enough crust and way too much marshmallow (actually, none would be just right).
Food is fine, but its overpriced in my opinion. Overpriced enough that I probably won't be going back anytime soon
I've been here a few other times and the food does not disappoint. I would definitely recommend to locals and out of towners. Thanks for the excellent service and food.
Great food and loved the atmosphere. Our server was very attentive at first and then kind of stopped attending to us so that was a downside. He was amazing in the beginning.
Great food, attentive service
The food was great. We especially loved the Korean short rib tacos and the avocado salad. Beer selection was great and our server was knowledgeable and made enthusiastic recommendations.
The food and restaurant itself are adequate but do not expect that from the service. I will definitely return for the food and ambiance but will expect slow forgetful service which must improve or this place will be nixed from my list
First time here, and liked the setting and menu. We arrived at 6:30 and the restaurant was nearly empty, so service was fine. As the restaurant filled, though, our server all but disappeared. Was nearly impossible to order a glass of wine to go with my entree. Never asked if we wanted dessert. Getting and paying check took forever (and they put one of the cocktails on the wrong check). Lots of potential here, but not with that kind of service.
I am a vegetarian and the server was very accommodating and made sure to double check my dietary restrictions, which I really appreciated. They had one of the best vegetarian burgers I have had in a long time. Unfortunately, the fries were terrible - way too soggy and greasy. The food and drinks were also a bit slow to come out. The other members of my party purchased flights and burgers and seemed to enjoy the food, apart from the fries as well. They have a large selection of beer and a smaller selection of cocktails. The ambiance was nice.
Great service, impressive selection of draft beer to include Bells Hopslam, nice menu and the pizza was very good.
Our waiter (ask for Geronimo) was great. The Atlas (beer) and hush-puppies tasted good; everything else was mediocre.
Great beer selection. Food is average.
Love this place and happy they finally made it to DC! The Philadelphia location is one of my favorite places. Food and Service is EXCELLENT
great craft beers. really loud, especially at happy hour at the Bar. the restaurant section isn't too loud at lunch. Food is good, but nothing amazing.
Nice staff. Food is meh. I went for a business lunch. Asked waiter for a special add-on w my salad (fried oysters, which were part of an appetizer). He checked w kitchen, said yes for $11 (!). I said well ok. Got 4 scrawny and overfried oysters on an overdressed salad. Showed my waiter and the manager brought more scrawny, overfried oysters. I appreciate their efforts. But I'd say thus place is more of a place for beers after work than good food.
Wonderful service and food.
Terrible service. Mediocre at best food. Poorly managed. Embarrassing.
Everything was good, service, food, etc. only complaint was we were not too far from the entrance, so it was on the cold side in the dining area.
Wonderful food and ambience. Would go again!
Sophia at the front booth was fantastic and went out of her way to make sure our party was satisfied.
Excellent service, good food great location. I'd definitely go back.
Beer list was amazing, other alcohol options were outstanding. Food was dry, nothing special. Service was excellent. Ambience was of an upscale sports bar—which it is.
Service was atrocious. No waited acknowledged us for an absurdly long time. Waiters would walk by, look at us, and not come to introduce themselves and take our orders. We had to ask a busboy to find us a waiter, and when one finally came by, he didn't introduce himself, but just tersely asked what we wanted. We then waited forever for anything to arrive. I've never had worse service in my life.
First time at City Tap - excellent cocktail and a really great Chicken & Waffle meal. Looking forward to going back, hopefully soon!
Enjoyed coming back! Jerrod was awesome! We shall return!
This is my second time visiting City Tap House and the experience was phenomenal. The food was fabulous and our server was fantastic.
This location in DuPont is amazing. It’s so spacious and has an very welcoming rustic vibe with the wooden furniture and fireplaces. For those who love to watch the latest sports game, have no fear, there are flat screen TVs everywhere.
